  1. We are talking about low level crimes such as tickets. And you are throwing them in jail for two days, sight unseen. IF you want to go off on a self-righteous lecture, fine. BUt this is stupid. And nobody should agree with it. It's very dumb. You are jailing people for wearing their pants too low. Any judge that does it should definitely not be re-elected, except how the hell are people supposed to know this happens.
  2. Not good most of the time, but when mlb draft happened they were only station discussing. Liked it then. But I mean, 87.7, most people don't even know that's on the dial.
  3. KC JOhnson tweeted likely Rose is out until next weeks games. Boogie vs. Noah tonight. Gay vs. Jimmy. Should be fun stuff.
  4. Did anyone see the WGN news story about a southside judge who has thrown 20+ people in jail for contempt of court because she said their pants were too low? This guy walks in for literally a jaywalking violation and ends up in jail for two days and nobody knows where he went.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) They had some guys working out at my gym pre-draft. McBuckets was one. That 19% on uncontested 3 pointers is shocking to me. I saw him hit about 15 in a row in a drill. It was unreal. He wil turn it around. NBA is hard. He doesn't know what uncontested means at this point because defenders are so much more athletic and faster closing out. He's probably rushing shots thinking defenders can close out faster than they can.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 03:47 PM) Right now, McDermott doesn't even look like an NBA player at times. He really has looked bad as of late. Again, not calling him a bust and I'm a patient guy, just find it absurd everyone saying he needs more minutes and those people that still seem to think he should be starting (although no one on this board has said that recently in regards to starting). Guy needs to gain confidence and pronto cause he really seems to be struggling with his current role. Namely it would help a whole lot if he could get his shot back on track. He's shooting 19% on uncontested 3 pointers. I'm convinced he'll be good come jan-feb, let's say post all star break. But it does seem like after every game people are convinced any offensive dry spell would be fixed by Doug McDermott. The dude is like boozer plus/minus territory on the court.
  7. Some cold water for the overheaded loins of doug-mcdermott-starter fans: http://www.blogabull.com/2014/11/19/724625...ike-dunleavy-jr
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 10:49 PM) After that game, how was there no talk about Nikolai. That was an impressive offensive performance. Nice passing, nice post moves, long range shot. You can see loads of potential. He is still going to have his bad games, which he has, but I think he has the opportunity to be a star with time. And Jimmy Buckets, what is there not to like. I don't think anybody here actually saw the game, so all impressions were based off of viewing from 9:30-10:30.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 09:57 PM) With McCoy he has been very good though and was for most of his tenure in San Diego. In regards to Romo, I've always felt he was good and largely impacted by stupid play calling and awful defenses. The guy I've long felt to be overrated is Manning but he does have the two 2 SB's. He is a streaky QB who when he goes on a run, he's very elite but he also has significant moments where he is the exact opposite. I actually think him and Jay are kind of similar players with the exception that Jay hasn't gotten hot at the right time. It's hard to tell with Manning. He is certainly streaky. He has also played with pretty bad talent often, and serious offensive line deficiencies recently.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 09:51 PM) Romo and Rivers don't belong on that list. I don't think so either, though a few years ago Rivers looked dead.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) Why was a certain former White Sox closer and his projected $3.8 million 1st year arb contract considered expensive, but Zach Duke 3 years $15 million, not much of a gamble? It's a great point, because time never changes, personnel never changes, and everything in the world is always absolute. So the most important thing in the world is trying to accuse someone of a message board of being inconsistent by comparing two vaguely similar circumstances over and over in every thread.
  12. LOL, read this: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2014/11/18/723...om-the-sideline
  13. I'm glad we signed someone, I'm not thrilled with the deal though. But there was to be no cheap bullpen signings. I just imagine there will be one year he's a bargain and 2 years we want to trade him for nothing.
  14. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 07:08 PM) He couldn't be worse than the Carlos Boozer Right, but Boozer at C would have been a nightmare, Gasol at C is not. But his rebounding is not as good as Noah's. But this may be premature, as Noah was basically rebounding unchallenged yesterday. I don't understand how Blake/Jordan could be so bad. (edit: at rebounding)
  15. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 06:59 PM) I haven't been paying close enough attention to get the breakdown of how much Noah has been playing at PF. But I agree that it makes no sense to constantly take your DPOY away from the basket to guard the PF, who's usually a stretch 4 these days. I know Gasol can protect the rim, but Noah does so much more around the rim than Gasol could. It's largely to protect Gasol from the P&R which he is notoriously horrendous at guarding.
  16. QUOTE (shysocks @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 07:05 PM) Yeah it was. Without looking it up, assuming he meant what it would read if the "(80 percent)" was omitted: Duke allowed 20 percent to score, Sox allowed 32 percent to score. The Sox bullpen holding only 32% of inherited runners seems like it would be an apocalyptic number. Doubt this is a three-year contract as some have guessed. I'm guessing 2/$9. Fine with the signing and even if his K-rate isn't real he has the ground ball chops that we've trended towards. Better this than Miller. It felt apocalyptic much of the year.
  17. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 06:58 PM) Watching Danks groove 86 MPH fastballs over the plate is better? Eithier would be a lot more valuable to this team than Danks next year....as long as the $ equals out or is close. I'm hoping to improve the team, not just swap deck chairs around.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 05:44 PM) It is, but it really didnt seem like they wanted to run. Griffin looked content to stay around 15-20 feet out and shoot Then I am confused why they abandoned the floor after every shot. I don't understand the Clips in game strategies if they aren't gonna run. you know the bulls aren't gonna get out in transition either.
  19. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 06:46 PM) Dan Hayes Zach Duke allowed only eight of 41 inherited runners to score (80 percent) last season. #WhiteSox allowed 32 percent. Needed to fix that. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/534764157372215297 I'm confused by the way he wrote this. So did Zach Duke "allow" 20% of inherited runners to score, and the white sox 32%? Or did Duke "hold" 80% of runners and White Sox only 32%? Confusing switching of terminology there.
  20. I get that Danks sucks, but considering where we are in rebuild, I really don't want to waste trading a player I really like and we can't replace easily for a bunch of old, bad, expensive outfielders just to....I'm not sure what this accomplishes. Oh yay, we have Ethier breaking down in LF for 2-3 seasons. Yay.
  21. Sox trade: Alexei Ramirez Chicago Receives: LA weather for next 30 winters Pull the trigger hahn.
  22. I was indifferent when winter was basically between 30 and 40 degrees and gray. 0-15 degrees and snowy every day is too much.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) ESPN Stats & Info ‏@ESPNStatsInfo 15m15 minutes ago Clippers had 2 fast-break points in Monday's loss to Bulls, tied for their fewest in the Chris Paul era (since 2011-12) That's insane.
  24. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) I actually love winter. Having lived in a cold place (Illinois) and then the South, where there MIGHT be a single snow all year, I realized that I actually want the seasons to change and to have a real winter. I'm especially ready to make that trade when it means avoiding brutally hot summers. I loved winter until last year. Winters in Chicago were pretty mild through the 2000s and early 2010s, but I can't take 3+ months in the teens as highs.
