  1. Oooo I can't wait until the sox trade off useful MLB assets for nothing!!! Rebuilding is so fun!
  2. Actual reporter Aggrey Sam with a nice rundown of things: http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls/bulls-adju...fly-free-agency Nice in regards to the info and writing. Crappy in regards to the sentiment. Bulls FO has virtually given up on Love. Also, surprised Lance Stephenson isn't even being mentioned. His market is remarkably small. I get that he's crazy, but...you'd think there'd be some interest there.
  3. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 03:19 PM) After seeing Lebron shut down Rose a few years back I think it's possible he could play the 2. Okay, so Wade plays the 3?
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) Steven A's report is the first one that worries me. I could very well see Bosh headed to Houston and Melo in Miami. Strange fit to bring in Melo to play 3 and Lebron to 4 or vice-versa. Bosh did all the dirty work for that team that will be missed.
  5. I'm very bummed to say the least.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 08:58 PM) At PG, Rondo > Bricky Scrubio. I also want to get this off my chest with all the latest reports of whether Rose recruited Melo or not...I'm I the only guy who actually respects Rose for wanting to beat other elite players instead of trying to create a superfriends team? I guess I'm old school but MJ never tried to recruit his friends Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing to play on the same team. That team would have won every year. I loved the fact that Magic, Bird, MJ, 'Nique, Isiah Thomas, Sir Charles, Karl Malone etc wanted to beat each other, not join forces. It's this new NBA culture of trying to create a stacked team so it won't be as hard to win, LeBron left a back to back 60 win Cavs team because he decided it was too hard. MJ didn't leave the Bulls after they kept losing year after year vs Detroit. It made him that much more determined. I love Rose' old school attitude because that's what it is. He just needs to stay healthy, that's out of his control though. This Bulls team with a healthy Rose is a contender, we still need a scoring wing but the Mavs and the Spurs showed us you don't need a top heavy team to win. In b4 Melo decides to stay in NY, screw him. In this scenario, Rondo is spun for assets in 3 team deal.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 10:57 PM) Hype/story-driven machine for LA is in full swing. Still makes zero sense over the Bulls. It really doesn't, and worse nobody seems to be questioning that the lakers are still a bad team with Melo. So he takes less money to go to a mediocre team in harder conference, because of 34 year old pau gasol and 36 yo Kobe, because they would build around the. 32 yo Carmelo when they are gone? I don't fault melo for going back to NYC, I don't think it's just about the money and he genuinely loves being the star ball player in the city. But if he signs with Lakers to play with Gasol, I once again will be go smacked that everyone else's assets ARE ALWAYS BETTER than Chicagos. Not just Bulls, same with Sox.
  8. Great match. Major finals recently have been fairly anticlimactic, leave it to Roger to bring back the epic finale in Wimbledon.
  9. I want to improve shooting from another starting spot. Hoping to replace Jimmy with more O honestly. Or Taj with Love. Sigh.
  10. Mirotic secured his buyout. Becomes great love piece right? Sigh.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 4, 2014 -> 12:01 PM) KC Johnson saying Noah is telling people he thinks Melo is going back to the Knicks. Where is he saying this?
  12. Somebody tweeted that we should know by end of weekend. Looks good for NYC.
  13. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) That's the only time I've heard anything about him being unhappy with the offer. That's because Kenny Anderson doesn't have sources.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 01:31 PM) 2/3rds of the country was frozen and buried under a foot of snow that entire time. I believed that for -.1 but 2.9 is huge, and that also wouldn't account for exports declining that quarter, either.
  15. Scalia's finest decision - green.
  16. 288k jobs today, employment/pop ratio above 2009 levels. Q1 continues to intrigue me. Nobody seems to be moving forward like that was a trend but -2.9 is so huge.
  17. I could see Milwaukee taking a shot at him.
  18. I would like us to preserve assets for a midyear Love trade and hope twolves suck rather than go crazy. It would be nice for mirotic to perform well on that front.
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) Krygios reminds me so much of a young Goran Ivanisevic. Decent chance he'll be top 20 by this point next year though, just needs to keep improving his fitness, because he already has the power game on the serve and groundstrokes by this point. Apparently Murray told his box to F*** Off during the Dimitrov loss, so something is definitely going on there. Whoever wins b/w Bouchard and Halep will win the Womens. I am betting on Halep to take down this Wimbledon.

  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 10:38 PM) I still wonder if Pau is actually part of the plan with Melo. Lakers are very open to S&T possibilities. Interesting thing is Melo will be in LA tomorrow as well. Only way I'd want Pau is short-term and not at the 10-12 M number that has been thrown around. I'd rather add a wing player + Mirotic with our cap space. If Bulls wanted Pau for Sign and Trade to send to KNicks...why would they be meeting with him?
  22. I mean maybe, just maybe Thibs went into this offseason thinking they needed to upgrade over Nasr.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 10:52 PM) lol. Post Spurs? Would you guys stop. More rest for veterans? Pop has been managing minutes for the big three since before anybody knew who Justin Bieber was. Last year was nothing new. Shooting? Floor spacing has been critical for at least half a decade now as defensive schemes have gotten better. This is not a new era of basketball now because the Spurs beat the evil Heat. I'm basing this off of the stories of coaches getting players to buy into less minutes this offseason, and the premium teams are paying for shooting this offseason. It may not be a new era, but it is what is driving the offseason. Are you really going to try and act like previous finals successes don't influence what teams do for the next year? Do you remember everyone needing to get small?
  24. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 11:26 PM) I don't really like the idea of Pau as anything other than a replacement for Taj should he be traded. Or maybe if Mirotic is coming over anytime soon/gets traded. Way I see it is Taj/Mirotic should get all the PF minutes, and Jo still should still be getting 35 min per game....How much are we gonna pay for a guy who sees ~14 per game? There are two trends this offseason post Spurs: - More rest for veterans - shooting shooting shooting Last year taj would double up as C often. I think they'd like lineup versatility of Pau-Noah and Pau Gibson, also Pau/Mirotic
