  1. Per Manziel/Bridgewater - I have no doubt that Manziel is going to be a good pro. I find it highly dubious that the 2 QBs who actually threw it into tight windows successfully against high competition (Bridgewater/Manziel) had questions on whether they could make the NFL throws while players like Bortles could. I didn't see a single contested throw in Bortles highlight reel. Manziel is comfortable under pass rush and delivered every ball he needed to. I'll take that dude every time over the guy that "looks" like an NFL QB.
  2. So, seems we have a trend: Shea - "Football Player" who could play with his hand on the ground or as a rushing OLB Kyle Long - G for now but could play T later Kyle Fuller - "Football Player" who can play nickel now and S later Personally I'd rather grab people who have specialized at a position. I'm not thrilled with Fuller, I'd rather have traded down if available. I really wanted Donald and unfortunately the worst city in the world struck again.
  3. Also I love the anyone with football knowledge would have made that pick line. Then why was he there? Couldn't SF have used him?
  4. I mean if Donald fell the Bears would be in exact same position we are now with safety.
  5. Every time you lost more scouts have claimed he is top corner. Id take Gilbert ten times and twice on Sunday before Fuller.
  6. STill waiting for first rehab assignment.
  7. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 8, 2014 -> 06:12 PM) NFL going to 1 pick a day model soon will be the next headline. The Houston Chronicle now says the Texans are asking for a first, second, and third-rounder this year plus a first-rounder in 2015 in exchange for Thursday's No. 1 overall pick. Good luck with that.
  8. Yeah I don't know why I like it so much, but offseasons are very fun for the "what ifs" and projections, and drafts are very condensed versions of that. For 3 days you get lots of different news items rather than 1 or 2 every week for 3 months. If an offseason was condensed down into 3 weeks I may enjoy that more than watching actual games.
  9. Also, I really love Todd Steverson's interviews. I'd love to have a beer with that dude and chat baseball.
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 8, 2014 -> 05:12 PM) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mlb/news/...cago-white-sox/ How teams overstated Abreu's lack of bat speed to drive down the price. Ah! That makes sense.
  11. Maybe we can find a Rodnon to really turn the universe over.
  12. The "move ahead for Manziel" reason is the only thing I could think of teams trading up for. I think Bears would like to move down but I don't think there are that many people that want to move up in such a deep draft.
  13. My prediction: Abreu - 50 HRs and 50 Doubles.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 8, 2014 -> 02:14 PM) Updated numbers, looks like Bernstein will have to edit his article (just like last time), and it looks like now the Abreu love is justified: Abreu 150 wRC+ 1.2 WAR Rizzo 143 wRC+ 1.0 WAR Thanks, I didn't want to click article and was unsure of stats he used.
  15. Ever since Anthony Barr was brought up I feel like that is the type of Emery pick I should anticipate if there?
  16. What a treat it is for us to get to watch this matchup.
  17. So fun with small sample sizes. Rizzo's great series has led to Abreu having an OPS of nearly 100 points better. Abreu's 12 HRs and 11 doubles is really kinda reminding me of a certain player in 98.
  18. Hawks Konerko call was pretty fun.
  19. Alexis play was so great.
