  1. Not that interesting stat, but I thought about it ever since seeing Gillaspie finished second in HRs among AL rookies, Abreu is 2 hrs away on May 5th for hitting as many HRs as the top AL HR hitting rookie hit in all of 2013 (Oswaldo Garcia, 14). NL fared a lot better.
  2. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 5, 2014 -> 04:54 PM) Wednesday and Thursday temps supposed to be in the 80s... Hopefully people turn out Thursday supposed to be crazy storms. Not sure a game will be played.
  3. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 5, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) Go to a Bears packers game, it's even worse. It was so bad I stopped going to those and sold my tickets for them. Bears fans are awful. I went to Bears Rams game in STL last November, and was so embarrassed at how terrible the Bears fans were being to everyone. Fights were being picked left and right.
  4. QUOTE (onedog#1 @ May 5, 2014 -> 02:33 PM) Any Sox fan could kill all their brain cells,, but would never forget the basket shot to sweep the lovable losers. For me, the Carlos Lee, Jose Valentin and AJP homers were way more memorable. Also, the game we were down 8-0 in the 4th and came back to win 12-9. When Paulie came up to the plate either tied or down by a few I just remember there being no doubt in my mind he was gonna rip a hit.
  5. I really am not going to worry until it's consistently 80 degrees. Chicago is ready to explode with all things related to summer including baseball games, but everyone is still very cautious when it's low 50s to high 40s and rainy every day. I don't think we'll draw 2 million but if it's July and it's still empty as an expos game then we might have a problem.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 5, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) The trash talk etc was much worse when both teams would good and the series was on the weekend. There were some super violent games in the stands back then. Yeah I bet. I can't relate to how terrible a human being you have to be to try and start a fight at a game over some macho team pride BS.
  7. With the draft being two weeks later, it makes it even more painful to me that it's now 4 days long. I really miss just bingeing on a Saturday and Sunday. I don't even remember what college football is at this point, let alone it's players.
  8. I went to Sox Cubs last year for first time, mostly had only seen on TV. It was a terrible experience. Cubs fans just screaming at you for some reason, sox and cub fan trashtalking that was embarrassingly bad, and mostly just people so drunk they felt they could constantly invade your personal space. That said, I am kind of sad this is such an afterthought. From 00-06 there were so many good games in the series. I think it was probably 08 where it really started to taper off for me.
  9. I'm going to stop starting Eaton in fantasy. He gets injured immediately. I'm like a voodoo doll owner.
  10. Well this s*** was gonna catch up eventually.
  11. Half those tweets they documented were people criticizing the people doing it.
  12. Exum scares me. Feel like it would be taking Darko.
  13. It also illustrates why bears will be unlikely to trade down.
  14. This is great stuff: “Just say in theory you go down six picks,” Emery said. “That means you have to count the pick you’re giving up as one and now you’re going to pick six picks later. So you have to have six picks on the board that have that graded value, that you’re comfortable taking. You have to come up with six players where I would take any one of those six. And you will rank order them. And you may end up with the last one on the list. But that last one? You better want. Or you shouldn’t trade. So if you don’t have that number of players that you feel good about, you shouldn’t trade.” A trade up, Emery hinted, seems less likely for the Bears next week. “Trade ups are expensive,” he said. “Obviously. You’d just have to feel like the player that you’re trading up for makes a dynamic difference in your team.”
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2014 -> 09:22 PM) Forman and Thibs aren't exactly buddies. It wouldn't shock me if they would do this, but it kind of would shock me if the Lakers did this. They need players. Agreed. And in need of young players. And they gave Kobe that contract so they also aren't in amazing shape moneywise despite that crappy roster.
  16. Ugh, it's probably going to be true. The lakers always get whatever they want because of pixie dust or something.
  17. I haven't had this much fun since Carlos Quentin's start to 08.
  18. I still fail to see how being a season ticket holder = supporting the owner (morally or otherwise). Most season ticket holders are so in spite of the owner.
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 06:44 PM) I haven't read a ton of this thread, but I'm curious what you think the Bulls course of action should be? Shocking to me the ragging on TT as well. I understand he sticks to his rotations too much and can be stubborn, and while I'm a few credits short of my coaching degree, not sure what else Thibs could do with this team without a single scorer to speak of on the floor for his team, along with a Noah in the playoffs that could barely walk. Obviously this team is just 1 coach away ...
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) This guy suffered for minutes. How long did his victim suffer as she was shot with a sawed off shotgun and buried alive? Right, but this is under the assumption that because he felt it was okay to torture and maim I should be okay with torturing him. And that's not the case. I think he should be punished, just not tortured to death.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) You don't know what you're talking about, he just doesn't seem like the type of person that would do such a thing. In all of his interviews he came off very respectfully to shop store owners.
  22. I guess because I think torturing and killing people is wrong.
