I definitely think our PD has improved for hitting, but also think a big part of this is getting in younger talent that can improve their ceiling through the system. And honestly shoutout to Paddy. Ramos had a decent bonus, but Sosa was a blip in the write-up. Jose Rodriguez just showed up without us knowing about him at all. These position players from lat am just did not get above A ball from 2012-2018 it felt like.

    White Sox Intl Review

I haven't seen him in a while but just in case @GenericUserName would love if you could share your thoughts. I wonder if this guy was gonna be signed by us in 2019 and then that agreement collapsed with the Govt? In this thread since we've signed obviously Yolbert, Colas, Yoelkis and Vera. now Chappeli. (not really drawing lines to what happend in 2019, we sign a lot of cubans in general).

Man, I can't believe what Sosa is doing and almost feel bad. In 2018 he was pretty much the only young prospect worth feeling good about. He's always been young for his level (and AA right now seems SUPER old compared to pre-COVID), and never failed, but also never really thrived. And so I feel like he only gets more attention when everyone else sucks because he'll be performing well. A little bit of Danny Mendick in him in that way. But this is a BIG start. A Big jump. His swing looks really long to me, but it is not showing up so far in AA in a bad way, it's all good. In year 2 in AA, he has cut his K rate down to 15%. That is below his career Krate of 18%. His K-rate is improving and that was the thing that initially stuck out about him. This doesn't even include the Homer + 2b i'm pretty sure, but what I'm looking at has his ISO at .220. His ISO last year was .130 and that's around his career numbers. His Power is improving. He has 12 walks this year when he only had 16 all of last year. He was walking at a 3% clip last year, and that is now 9%. Look at this beautiful progression of pitches seen per at bat: (Last row is 2022). So in summary, Lenyn Sosa has: - Improved his power dramatically this year while - cutting his k-rate dramatically this year while - improving his walk rate dramatically this year Seems good!

Yeah, pretty sure he is married to his high school sweetheart and from what I understand is a very low key guy. Just basketball and family. edit: so I could see him being fine in smaller markets

I fully believe Zach will be back and am not going to get sucked into the Free Agency drama. If it falls through, I'll deal with my emotions then. He has every right to pursue what he wants after the first four years of his bulls career, but I think he stays.

I wonder if we are still in the typical early June shakeups with no draft until July. Az/DSL start then though so Id still guess it provokes some movement

I would have thought with Basabe/Smith Jr's release we'd see outfielders from Bham move up. I'd like to see Duke Ellis moved up (to birmingham) even though I don't expect much there. Move Neslony up to Charlotte. Not like when you need room for Colas you can't release all those 25-26 year old guys anyway without much thought.
  17. man this is such a brutal, heartbreaking read all the way to the last foot note. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/tarik-cohen-mental-health-nfl-football
  18. nobody tell him.
  19. I know there will be focus on the WRs, but the key to this to me is there should be no reason bears are not a top ten rushing team. The WRs they added are better at run blocking than the previous guys, who were awful. Their RB room is one of the few strong areas of the team. Their QB runs a 4.4 forty. The wide zone will hopefully help this.
  20. Gotta just hope for a vet cut.
  21. I do think I've switched to my main area of concern being the line, especially scary because the bears seem way too comfortable with it. It is clear they value Patrick at Center being able to make the calls since he had familiarity with Getsy's GB offense it's bringing over, and that kinda sucks because there is a great C available in Tretter. I like a lot of Zachary Thomas to G, but that is just way too nerve wrecking. The guard market doesn't exist right now, but Quinton Spain is still an upgrade over what they have. They are definitely in 1-year stop gap mode. It seems like they really do seem to like Borom at LT. Would feel a whole lot better with some real competition, getting a Flowers or Brown to pit Jenkens v. Borom.

    Formula One

I could see Hamilton doing that but only if the gap in results between him and Russell widen. I think it's easy to believe Mercedes can catch up next season, even with the investment cap. Especially since at this point it does feel like Ferrari is once again struggling with upgrades and strategy. I kinda bought into the F1 rep for Albon. Always a little skeptical when a guy was just okay in F2, and he seemed way too safe in the red bull. But he seems really really good at managing the cars he's in, and it's been a nice match with the creative strategies Williams has done under Jost to steal points. I think Vettel is done, mainly because I think Daddy Stroll is itching to cut him and I imagine Vettell will want to take control of going out on his terms. And Ricciardo has been both bad, and seems miserable. That would be a whole lot of the old guard out at once though, would be rough to see. All of them, even Vettel are losing results to their driver pairings, so I can see it happening. Too much ego there.
  23. I'm a total poseur fan now. Hoping there is some formula one super fan I can learn stuff from. My wife got me into the Netflix docuseries and it went from "I never really liked racing but this show is great" to "I'll watch the highlights but I don't want to spoil the show" to "I am watching the qualifiers all day please shut up children" Literally shrieked in horror when Max Verstappen went into the wall on Sunday, and was as happy as a sox win when Gasly made it into top 3. Fun stuff. I'm a formula one expert now AMA.
