  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) I can tell you one thing for sure. I will be watching less baseball this year than I have in any season probably since Robin Ventura left Chicago as a free agent. I have not been nearly this bitter with the White Sox since that specific day. I had thought about Soxfest after getting a nice bonus this quarter, and there is no way I am spending $500 to do that now. Really????? I haven't read the rest of this thread, but I came to the site just now because of how excited I am. I don't get it. I might even buy season tickets because of today and yesterday.
  2. Surely the mods can fix the spelling of "Bernstein" in the thread title plz...
  3. I will be watching. Call me a glutton, but I love baseball too much. No matter how they do, I can't stop.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 1, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) #WeAreGood I believe that's someone else's hashtag. #WeAreBetterThanGood
  5. QUOTE (staxx @ Apr 18, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) Yeldon had a fantastic year. They just never gave him the ball near the goal line Kenyon Drake still has tread on the tires tho. He should be a pretty good short-yardage/goal-line back.
  6. Pretty chill Q&A. Robin with the jokes. New 2016 slogan: We've Got Issues. Have to wonder tho are ppl satisfied, polite, or just apathetic, considering how much the Sox have failed in the last decade. A lot of malaise here, no vitriol.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 04:39 PM) Since you are there, do you agree than Hahn implied he was working on a deal earlier today? Someone tweeted that I'm here too. That's not how I interpreted that comment. Didn't sound like anything was imminent. Typical GM speak.
  8. Kinda spinning our wheels here - only so many times Hahn can say "players didn't perform up to expectations" after many questions in similar vein.
  9. Good question abt why they haven't drafted hitters very well (unlike pitchers). Hahn acknowledges the gap but says they are working on it. Talks abt Steverson should help that.
  10. Hahn is a great politician, trying to address rebuild issues v stopgap solutions. Not sure he gets it really. Is there a plan? He think they're closer to winning a ring now. Not sure I agree.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) They scheduled it there for a reason. Only open to hotel package buyers and the earliest seminar so some may be stuck at work. Is Hahn going to be doing any more qandas throughout the weekend? Tmrw morning @ 10
  12. Hahn sidesteps a Q on Dexter Fowler.
  13. I'm at the Hahn/Ventura Q&A and there is NO ONE HERE. LOL! They have killed the enthusiasm for this club. Could not believe it.
  14. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 07:11 AM) What? Your numbers make no sense. It appears as if you completely left out Clinton's presidency. Since Nixon took office (not real sure why chose that as a starting point) basically 47 years ago it's been 28 years Republican, 19 Democrat. With the difference being that you chose a Republican as your starting point. If you went back to Kennedy/Eisenhower the numbers are 28 Republican, 27 Democrat. Since the end of WWII, which was basically the beginning of the USA as a Super Power, the presidency has alternated between Democrats and Republicans other than the 12 years of Reagan, HW Bush which I think is an indication of the general population being uninformed. They don't like the way things are going so next election cycle they vote opposite. Then 2, 4 or 6 years later things still aren't going great so they vote opposite again. Never mind that Eisenhower was basically a Democrat in his policies, what with letting LBJ & Rayburn pass as much legislation as they wanted and enforcing all the left-leaning civil rights Supreme Court decisions. (Not to mention how high the tax rate for rich people was in those years)
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 01:38 PM) That ST was Daniel Craig. Saw it again - definitely not Craig's voice, and he & JJ have denied it. FWIW.
  16. I really hope the Sox don't sign Cespedes - there's a reason he's been on 4 teams in like 2 years. All reports are he's a terrible teammate. Definitely not what we need - more chemistry problems. My two cents.
  17. Is his defense really that good to warrant spending that much on a guy w minimal power? Esp at a premium power position (LF)
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:08 AM) Bernstein is sour on the deal, shocking He's down on the deal because he's a typical Sox fan, like many on here. I don't know why this is, but we love to s*** on almost everything the front office does.
  19. LOL - yes let's all root for a squeaky clean team that loses all the time. Such hypocrisy all the time from these holier-than-thou types. Either you care abt WINNING or you DON'T. How you get there is irrelevant. It's an old adage in sports that "if you're not cheating, you're not trying." AMEN. I wish everybody was still doing it. The game was better.
  20. Hahn said in both radio interviews I heard last week that he has to upgrade LF, so don't worry. He knows.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:30 AM) Is he still juicing? Pass. You mean a guy that wants to win that bad? Sign me up.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 10:43 PM) KW and Hahn will be kings of Chicago if they could manage to bring Kemp on board. Much more likely to end up with Crawford or Ethier, of course...with the problem being that Noesi and Bassitt would have to hold the fort down for at least 2-3 months until Rodon arrives on the scene. At this point, Ethier looks better and better to me.
  23. QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 05:12 PM) You're right - it's not going to happen and is stupid... Putting money aside thou, what would you rather have... 1.) Jose Quintana Or 2.) Justin Upton, Evan Gattis, and Jon Lester Barry Bonds in his prime.
  24. Lot of crazy trade proposals in this thread - not sure why any of those teams would want to trade any of those players.
