I presume this was more of an issue of bad schemes which didn’t mix with our positions and overall offense. Call it fit vs bad coach but I could be wrong. Oline did get impacted by injuries late but the ground game and overall blocking was a disaster. So was the passing game. Everyone responsible for the offense has a shit ton of work to do and self reflection if they are going to turn this thing around. This offense was absolutely awful and did nothing well. They have literally no strength/identity.

I'm sure that's part of it, especially the run game stuff.

No, they have 3 draft picks before the 5th round

Keeping Jackson is iffy right now if you ask me. He was nothing special this year. I'd let him play out next year. They can also extend Robinson & Patterson to save cap space and also they'll be releasing Gabriel and Long to save even more cash

Cutting Burton now costs them money so he'll be on the roster next year

They have two 2nd round picks and then they don't draft until the 5th round.

You could hold off on Jackson, but risk him not showing up or losing him in free agency.  They also don't have any other safeties signed for next year.

You can cut someone like Gabriel and Long is for sure gone, but you don't have a ton of options for replacing them.

these players span a decade. He had DJ moore for his rookie year...last year.

    TED GINN!

You know football reasonably well, trying to imply that Cam has had great receivers is idiotic, it's been a major issue his whole career.

So..the bears have Allen Robinson. Is Robinson bad? Curtis Samuel has stats comparable to Anthony Miller. Is he bad too? Or is it that they need to have 4 all pros in receiving. Did Cam ever have that?

Ted Ginn combined for 19 td and averaged 15 yards per catch in his three years in Carolina.  He's not a great player, but there is a reason he has been in the league for 13 years.

Cam hasn't had a ton of great passing options, but this idea that he has had nothing is ridiculous.  He also has had a great running game behind him his whole career.

There is also a huge difference of not having great passing options and a bad OL when you are a 25 Qb with the ability to run then when you are a 31 QB after two years of injuries.

I mean they do have two 2's to help the OL and about $30M in cap space. Burton should be back although he's a pansy.

No way Newton gets 20-25M a year. I don't see it. There aren't a ton of teams that need QB's- Cincy, Miami, Carolina, young guys in GB/NE/MIN maybe- but the latter will go the draft route and the other two will do the same. What teams will the Bears be competing against in FA/trades for Newton?

They have two draft picks until the 5th round.  That cap space is going to go quick with Newton, probably having to pay Eddie Jackson and keeping some other players.

Burton is just average player regardless, I bet they release him to free up money.

If you don't think Newton will make crazy money, just look at other QBs in this league and what they make.  Not to mention the Bears or any other team might have to trade from him.

Yeah cam definitely is used to having great pass options and great olines to perform.

Yeah, Steve Smith, Greg Olsen, Christian McCaffery, DJ Moore, Ted Ginn were all good passing options.  He could have ended up throwing to two for sure Hall of Famers and if McCaffery keeps it up, he will also.

Curtis Samuel and DJ Moore are also two really good young WR.

As far as the OL goes,  probably part of the reason he has dealt with so many injuries and that wasn't when he was turning 31 off a major injury.

The prequel trilogy gets way too much hate.  No doubt the writing was terrible at times, all the romance stuff was hard to stomach, and it occasionally lost its sense of adventure in exchange for world building.  However, when viewed in aggregate they told a comprehensive origin story that led to a very satisfying conclusion even if we knew what was coming.  I know it will be an unpopular opinion, but I probably like them more than the sequel trilogy, warts and all.

The romance stuff and a lot of the dialogue is really bad, but I still think the biggest problem with the prequels is all the really bad CGI.  If it was done more to look like the original trilogy at least a little bit, I think they would have aged better.  At times those movies almost feel like watching a cartoon.

It's fucking criminal that Allen Robinson isn't even a Pro Bowl alternate. Idk how people could have watched football this year and come to the conclusion that Robinson isn't one of the top 5 WRs in the NFC.

Also, with the way Miller has come on in the last few weeks, there's no way in hell that they should cut or trade him.

The Pro Bowl is a joke and no one takes it seriously. I wouldn't get to worried about players who make and not make it.

I'm not trying to get anyone to go away.  I'm trying to get you to stop repeating yourself and ruining one of the few threads on this site that I honestly love.  I can't even parse through this thread anymore without coming across you firing people and benching people and throwing out hot take after hot take.   I avoid multiple threads for the same reason.   The baseball offseason is long as fuck and now the bears suck and I have to deal with that too as well as you saying the same shit all week.  Come up with another fucking talking point for Christ sake, I would rather read GoSox05 passive aggressive packers shit

Hey, I think I've been pretty chill about the Packers and how they are doing really awesome right now and Aaron Rodgers is just so good.

That's insanity imo. They should have been fired weeks ago. To give them another season is to punt 2020 before it's even started.

Pace doesn't have the cojones to ditch Mitch. Nagy hates Trubisky. It just leads to another season of total dysfunction. If you think this year's bad, wait until 2020 with those guys back. Get your popcorn ready.

Firing a coach after he has a half a bad season or even after one bad season is something teams like the Browns and Dolphins do all the time.

Anytime you use a weapon to try to injure someone outside the context of the game, legal action needs to be considered.

This isn't the first time this has happened and I don't believe anyone was ever arrested the other times.

After Rudolph tried to pull Garrett's helmet off, he was kicking him in the thigh with his spikes and also appears to grab his crotch.  Rudolph facing charges as well?

What Garrett did was incredibly dangerous, but it's not like Rudolph was just sitting on the bench and Garrett walked over and smashed him in the head.  Rudolph started the fight and Garrett took it too far.  Garrett should be suspended for the rest of the year, like he was and Rudolph who was just fined for it, should be suspended for a game or two.
