  1. Who catches is this goes extras? Anderson isn’t an option.
  2. TLR should start Harrison at Pitcher and Cease at 2b. Big Energy can throw one pitch, and then TLR can switch them. Cease will be able to hit in Harrison’s place. Couldn’t be any worse than what we’ve seen.
  3. So our brilliant, gun loving, NRA bought and paid for politicians think the solution to end school gun violence is arming teachers. Yeah, that’s what teachers signed up to do. I assume they’ll all be trained to handle a handgun proficiently. Law enforcement has quarterly firearms qualifications, so teachers will have to mirror that, I’m sure. If they don’t qualify, no more teaching. They can keep the guns in their desk drawers. Or, maybe every teacher has a gun holstered. Who knows? We can let them decide. Maybe a shot gun leaning in the corner, too. That should work great when the nuts with AR-15s walk into the school and start shooting. The teacher may not even have to stop teaching. Just calmly pull the gun out and keep reading to the class until the intruder comes down the hall to meet his end. Head shot. Problem solved.
  4. A few years ago, there was a thread about what a guy could eat to make his ejaculate more voluminous. Thaaaat was a dumb thread. But, it was entertaining.
  5. Donaldson should walk across the field today when TA’s stretching and talk to him about it. It’s pretty simple. If you do something wrong, own it, and make amends.
  6. And let’s put the worst possible defense on the field for our guy who pitches to contact the most.
  7. Deebo? Terrell Owens? It depends what you consider a breakout, but from a fantasy football perspective, I know one of the rules of thumb for years was to look for WRs in their third year because many made the jump at that point. That would tend to be 24+ for most of them.
  8. Moncada, Robert and Eloy are always grimacing after swings and whenever they give max running effort. I’ve never seen so many players get hurt running to first and sliding into bases. These guys are all too tightly wound.
  9. Didn’t TLR and the trainer start to come out and get turned back by Liam? I know I saw it happen, but it may have been someone else pitching.
  10. I generally don’t like superhero movies because I can’t buy into the special effects, but The Batman was good. Agree they could have chopped around 30 minutes off and not missed anything.
  11. My friends and I do a baseball trip every year, and I’ve had similar experiences a few times with some of the ticket offices in other cities. I just want a price sheet and what is offered. It’s not that hard. One of my pet peeves is trying to ascertain the cost of something I may want to buy, and not being provided the info.
  12. It’s been a few years, so things may have changed, but I’ve been to the scout seats a few times (my brother’s company gives him tickets), and I thought they were great. We were right behind the plate - sat a little bit higher than fans the camera shows from the CF shot on pitches. The pregame buffet was really good quality (carving station, vegetables, and the typical ballpark food - fries, wings, beefs, etc), and there was a menu at the seat to order more food/drinks/snacks. To me, the experience of scout seats is way better than a luxury box. You actually feel like you’re at a game. Luxury boxes are so disconnected, and the few times I’ve been the buffet wasn’t much more than wings and hot dogs.
  13. If he can get to it, it’s his. Still has to call for it so the other guy who’s running and looking up at the ball knows to back off.
  14. Do we know that Robert is actually calling for the ball? I feel like he’s had close calls with the RF on occasion too.
  15. Tadahito Iguchi is his manager. Maybe he’ll put a good word in for the Sox.
  16. How many innings do Engel, Mendick and you assume Kopech will pitch before being pulled by TLR?
  17. I think the biggest mistake (other than DUIs) TLR has consistently made is defensive replacements. He’s missed some really obvious ones. Late innings with the lead, it’s going to make sense to have AJP in left, Robert in center, and Engel in right. Don’t worry about the batting order. His BP management is ok (other than not giving Kimbrel an opportunity to close). It’s not his fault when relievers fail to do their jobs. Eg. Bummer coming in and walking guys followed by a bleeder through the infield - there’s nothing TLR can do about that.
  18. Not a ton of great FA options. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/starting-pitcher/available/
  19. The one positive of the reduced Spring Training is the regulars play together quite a bit more than usual. I was at the game Sunday. Everyone who started the game was a projected regular and all played 4-5 innings at least.
  20. Also, consider Chris Rock is NOT a good actor. He was pretty thrown off the rest of the time he was up there. Pretty sure this was not planned or fake.
  21. It’s Spring Training for Sox Talkers, too. This is the B game. Just get some reps in here and move to the other thread when you’re ready.
  22. You don’t have to pull up to not dive. He could just run as fast as he can all the way through the play. He could decelerate after the ball drops if he doesn’t catch it. Infielders do it every day on balls just out of their reach. They don’t pull up, but they don’t dive either.
  23. I think the thing he was saying about love was a justification of his action. He assaulted Chris Rock out of love for his family. That’s why he equated it to Richard Williams being crazy and acting the way he did for his daughters. Smith laughed at the joke. Then he got up and approached Rock on stage. The worst thing about the slap is there’s no way Rock could have expected it.
