  1. This is a pretty good looking T-shirt. Figure it’s worth posting if people are interested. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/fans/team-liam?partnerId=zh-20230206-821891-CWS-1-A&qid=16&utm_id=zh-20230206-821891-CWS-1-A&utm_source=cws_community_news&utm_medium=email&bt_ee=MQxxLLKDxz5nDU7Sqsdx0TcjW5YACBcZkcTtcuD9aCzTUa7XHtAUjxtJF5yWMJPe&bt_ts=1675717142827
  2. Yep. Radio in kitchen tuned to WGN hoping to hear my “parochial” school named while simultaneously watching the scroll on the Bozo Show looking for the same. Highest of highs and lowest of lows depending on the outcome.
  3. I guess I’m missing something with the angst over the Nationwide ad. What I hear is only 5-10 seconds long on the MLB app. Is it repeated multiple times on the local broadcast?
  4. Thanks. I guess I should have made it more clear that I think they “should” have an obligation to disclose this type of stuff… However, much like I felt with PEDs, I have a feeling they were plenty of whispers, so shame on the Sox for not doing their due diligence.
  5. Maybe I’m crazy, but it seems to me if MLB and/or the Padres were aware of a situation like this, they have an obligation to share the information with teams interested in signing or trading for the player in question. MLB teams are “partners.” Allowing one team to hurt the reputation of another by hiding information is pretty bad and damaging.
  6. When they’re younger than Tex, it makes me pause.
  7. Oh Lollobrigida, your food I diggeda.,
  8. I keep coming back because I’m a fan. That’s it. I don’t die with the losses anymore, but I really enjoy the wins. The successes have been few and far between in my 40+ years as a fan (I’m 50yo) anyway, but my memories of those seasons outweigh the many, many bad seasons. Honestly, they were bad (really bad) when I fist became a fan, so I can find a positive in almost anything more than .500. I won’t stop watching or following when they suck, but I am able to relegate them to the lowest rung of my entertainment ladder when they do. Maybe this is the year…
  9. One of my all time favorite Sox, but Hall of Very Good.
  10. I’m pretty sure I agree with this. Yep. I read it again a few times, and I also don’t understand how these contracts are sustainable.
  11. I’m sure you are right. This trade idea is preposterous, but I’m so sick of being the big market team with a small market budget. Nothing would surprise me when it comes to JR being cheap.
  12. If the Sox trade Eloy, they should have kept Abreu. If they make this ^ rumored trade with the Mets, they’re even bigger morons than we already believe.
  13. $300M includes Machado’s friends and family that the Sox signed.
  14. This is how I feel about the Super Bowl. I’d be ecstatic if I never got invited to another SB party and could just sit and watch the game myself.
  15. If we’re never really “at the table” for big-time FAs, trading our prospects and/or cost-controlled you guys (eg. Vaughn) is a bad idea for the long term of the Sox. Unfortunately, I think we’ll have to deal guys like Moncada/Robert/TA as they approach the end of their deals and hope our minor league players/trade recipients can step up and fill in.
  16. I wish they would have developed him to bat left handed and play right field. He’d fit perfectly in the ‘23 lineup.
  17. It will be a good excuse for me to stop paying attention to the Sox. Under current ownership, I don’t have any hope of the Sox competing financially with other teams.
  18. At this point, let’s just pick up Benintendi or Conforto and be done with the offseason. I’m tired of checking to see if anything happened and afraid Lenny/Hahn will make yet another dumb trade.
  19. TLR was a disaster, but they still made the playoffs his first season. Biggest blunder was going to pay tv and dumping Harry Carey not long after buying the team. Lost a generation of fans.
  20. I got an email from “Portillo’s Hot Dogs” this morning and my first thought was a White Sox source was giving me some insider info.
  21. On a normal roster, both would have value if the team doesn’t already have 9 DH/1B types
  22. It’s the date they won game 4 against Houston.
