  1. Maybe I’m crazy, but I believe most of it. The Hahn, TLR, KW dynamic makes no sense. They simply can’t have 3 guys making personnel decisions. The Ohtani offer seems ridiculous. On potential of the Sox players mentioned alone, making that deal prior to this season would have been dumb. A team with limited resources can’t give away 7 young, cost-controlled players for one.
  2. Very disappointing, for sure, but the 1984 White Sox are still at the top of my list. Coming off a 99 win season with the returning ROY & Cy Young, they stumbled to 74 wins. I still don’t understand how that team crumbled so quickly.
  3. I guess my math’s a bit off…lol Rain would be a fitting end though.
  4. One under, .500, or one over are all perfect. Feels like they spent the entire season bouncing between those three.
  5. I give TLR credit for owning the failures. It’s obviously not 100% his fault, but he had a significant role. Roster construction, players not actually executing to expectations, and player fitness also played a big hand. I would add that TLR looked physically terrible all season. It makes sense in retrospect that he has some health issue that’s affected him all season. He claimed it never impacted his ability to manage, but there’s no doubt in my mind it did. I’m glad he’s gone, but good luck to him going forward. I hope he retires completely. No need for a role in the organization.
  6. He was definitely one of the root problems. I still can’t understand how astonishingly bad his in-game decisions were. I don’t wish him ill health, either, but good riddance.
  7. The funny thing is ex-players constantly talk about the NFL legislating hitting out of football. They even talk about knowing to say it was a different body part so they can continue playing when they “get their bells rung”. The same guys will now be going after the league and Dolphins for letting Tua play. A lot of these injuries come down to the players having respect for one another and not diving at knees, twisting legs, slamming guys to the ground, turning into missiles to deliver head shots, etc. That looked really bad for Tua, though. Hopefully he’s ok.
  8. T-Mobile gifted me the MLB package again this year, so I’ve had no excuse for not watching some or all of any Sox game I want. My most recent Directv bill had an insert letting me know I have NFL Sunday Ticket for free. So, I now have no excuse for missing Bears games. I think I’m cursed. My NFL team’s offense seems to have adopted the ground ball philosophy of my favorite MLB team. One long frustrating season bleeding into the next, and I don’t have to miss a minute.
  9. I won’t watch much today, but this team has earned a gamethread for all 162.
  10. I feel like we’re pretty much stuck with the same roster next year. Since almost everyone underachieved this year, that might not be a terrible thing. They have to break up the DH/1B/LF logjam. I can’t imagine they will not sign Abreu, but that’s probably the smart move. Let Abreu go & move Vaughn to 1B full time. I don’t think they’ll get much for Sheets, but he should be moved. Package him with one of the overpriced middle relievers. Take back someone else’s junk OF/2B that doesn’t fit their roster and hope for the best. Burger can be a backup 1B/3B or he should be traded. Eloy is a full time DH. Probably stuck with Pollack in LF. Colas in RF. Im sure they’ll go with one of the young guys at 2B - probably Romy. Biggest change they should make is the coaching staff. Kick TLR upstairs. He doesn’t deserve it, but it’s what will happen. I doubt Hahn will go. Maybe he should be allowed to pick the manager this time?
  11. He’s eaten things that would make a Billy goat puke.
  12. Beat us. Mocked the hand signals our hitters do after hits. Laughed and clowned us on our field. Fitting end to this series/season. I can’t be mad at the Guardians, but hopefully our players remember how this feels.
  13. Well, if I can’t inspire this team, nobody can. Wait ‘til next year.
  14. Tuning in for the comeback. 4 games out after tonight.
  15. When five guys have already pitched one inning or fewer out of the pen, the remaining guys are forced to stay in no matter how bad they look. This is one of the problems with limiting all the relievers to one inning every game.
  16. I’ve been saying this all season. I don’t understand this idea a relief pitcher can only pitch one inning regardless of pitch count.
  17. That is a great plan. Not sure I could do it, but it sure would remove an unnecessary stress from my life.
  18. For those of you scoring at home, I’m updating my lifetime stats. 100% of the time I drop a screw or something small near a sink, it finds the drain.
