  1. Did people not know they’d be bad? Granted, they’re playing worse than you’d expect, but they were always going to be bad. I have a feeling people convinced themselves they were a slightly below average team. They are worse than last year’s team. That team at least had some talent/potential. This team has almost no talent.
  2. Phew! It’s a good thing JR promoted Getz due to his familiarity with the organization. Imagine where we’d be if we had to wait another full season for a new hire to learn the organization.
  3. Ever see his mullet and facial hair? Motherfucker is filthy at all times.
  4. I genuinely love threads like this where the reaction from everyone is a variation of “who fucking cares”.
  5. That’s a reason we ended up with Grifol in the first place. We missed our opportunity to have the pick of the litter, shat all over ourselves, and then nobody wanted the job (also JR would never pay for a top-tier manager either).
  6. I’m almost 40 haha. What did you think of it?
  7. I disagree with the timeframe of making him a starter, and I think that’s how most people see it. It seems to me that they’re already overworking him and he will be hurt or otherwise sidelined pretty quickly. It’s being rushed, but I know we disagree on that point.
  8. Exactly. Plus he was drafted as a starter and was thrown into the bullpen by the last POS GM. It’s the right move to make him a starter again, but it’s the obvious move and not something I’m giving him a ton of credit for.
  9. It is certainly desperation. I don’t trust this organization to do much of anything right. But Clevinger is better than most of our current rotation without a doubt.
  10. True. But they thought enough of him to bring him back at all in order to improve their chances of winning a few more games.
  11. That doesn’t change what I said. I understand that a lot of you guys don’t want him on the team, but it is abundantly clear that the move makes sense from a win/loss perspective. You guys can just say you don’t want him because you don’t like him. Asking why every other team didn’t make the move has no bearing on why the Sox did. He improves their chances of winning a few more games this year. That is the answer to why they signed him. End of story. Other teams may be, and likely are, avoiding him because they fear what type of negative influence he could have in the clubhouse. The Sox are in the unique position of knowing exactly how he was in the clubhouse last season, and they apparently don’t think it was negative enough to keep him away.
  12. Again, why does that matter to the Sox? They are in a unique position in that Clevinger was actually on their team last year. He pitched well and he seemingly didn’t cause any clubhouse issues.
  13. We’ve all been in that situation where you’re in a public place and you just have to go. Then when you come back you know that everyone knows you were gone too long to have just been peeing, but you gotta hope that nobody calls you out. Poor Bourgeois just had that happen on a National scale.
  14. People are gonna be super pissed when the one guy not replaced ends up being Clevinger 😆
  15. I said it months ago and I still believe it. They will keep him around so they can fire him after the season so as to appear that they are making the right moves to keep fans satisfied. They know they aren’t competing this year, so they have to keep someone to take the fall.
  16. That’s the kind of thing that reminds me how jaded I am. I’m no longer impressed by no-hitters because I’ve seen so many. They should be so much more intriguing to me, but they just aren’t. Doesn’t help that I was in attendance for statistically the worst no-hitter of all time.
  17. I am not arguing with you. They absolutely should. I’m just explaining why I think they made this one particular move. I s%*# on this franchise enough. I should defend the logic in their moves occasionally haha.
  18. Always wondered how such things didn’t happen more often.
  19. He is here all season. I can’t believe people are convincing themselves otherwise.
  20. It makes the team better on paper. That’s the main thing.
