  1. COME ONNNNN TIMO! COME ONNNNN TIMO!!!
  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 04:56 PM) Way to go Gordon. I wonder what his BABIP is? Seriously, thanks guys for the BABIP info. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=3B .339 BABIP for Gordon.
  3. Watched it on DVR a couple times. I'm pretty sure that ball went straight over the top of the foul(fair) pole. Definitely warranted a review at the very least.
  4. QUOTE (Cochise @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 02:48 PM) There has been too much euphoria on the boards. This board is so manic. If we lose one game its doom and gloom, season over. If we win a few people are aligning the pitching staff for the playoffs. So you weren't happy at all when we took 5/6 from the Yankees and Angels heading into today? In case you didn't realize, you are the one providing the doom and gloom season's over mentality right now.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) I'd like to move up and down on your avatar. Well you posted that I looked at your avatar for a second and was really confused...
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) Daniel Hudson moves to 7-0 with a 1.60 ERA at Birmingham. Thanks for the memories, Jose. Your time is up. You planning on using a 4 man rotation?
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) This obviously means that his 14 straight no-hit innings is also a record, correct? John Vandermeer says hello. Back to back no-no's.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) Yes, I absolutely will criticize a guy whose job is to get a good pitch to hit and extend the game, who swings at the 1st pitch at an alarming rate. you take pitches, and you get a good pitch to hit, If you don’t get a pitch to hit, you don’t swing. AJ doesn’t this s*** all the time, I love him, but it’s true. I don't necessarily disagree with your point that AJ swings at s***ty pitches, I just hate the ridiculous assumption that the prospects we call up are going to do the job better than who we currently have. With the exception of Beckham right now, that almost never seems to be the case. As long as our catcher is hitting over .300, I don't really care what pitches he swings at.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 09:31 PM) That was a terrible pitch AJP swung at. Low, outside fastball that he swung the bat at. Looked like it was an 0-2 swing he took. I can't watch the game so I did not see the pitch. But complaining about AJ's hitting this year seems to be quite ridiculous.

  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Sometimes i can't wait for Tyler Flowers. A catcher who can work an AB? WHAT???? He's going up against Joe Nathan. You might only get 1 pitch to hit in that situation. You're really gonna complain about a guy who's hitting over .300? I love how every prospect is an all-star until they get called up, when they properly become just the s***ty hitters on our team.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 07:42 PM) 3 losses for Linebrink vs the Tigers this year. Obviously, he's not a good match-up. Fine, Linebrink has sucked against the Tigers this year. But your entire bullpen has been crap lately and regardless of who Ozzie brings in there you wouldn't be comfortable with a tie ballgame. The offense was terrible today and it cost us the game.
  13. QUOTE (3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 07:44 PM) LOL @ people ripping on Thornton for not being perfect, especially when he's always brought in with baserunners on, lately all thanks to Linebrink. Linebrink loaded the bases, you don't think that's a big deal? Considering the Sox lost by 1 run I'd say that's a damn big deal and had a big effect on the game I'm not ripping on Thorton for not getting out of the inning without giving up a run. I will however rip him for walking in the run. You cannot walk in the leading run in the 8th. Regardless of whether the runners on base are you responsibility or not. You give a basehit at least you give your team the opportunity to make play. There's also no guarantee Thorton gets you out of the 8th scoreless. It's all hindsight.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 07:41 PM) I agree this sweep was on the offense, but Ozzie should give DJ or Pena a chance at the 2nd RHer out of the pen at this point, they really can't be anyworse Maybe Carrasco give his recent success...but would you honestly want to see Pena in the 8th there? There's no way given his short time with the team you would think that he's ready for that situation.
