QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) Watched "Science of Sleep" yesterday on demand, really captured the randomness of dreams. In some way it kinda reminded me of Fear and Loathing just without the drugs,if that makes sense. Also there were some attractive ugly girls in it too(what can I say the movie didnt make sense hence post will make no sense). I think i caught part of that the other day, Gael Garcia Bernal is in it right? An artist who doesnt know the difference between his dreams and reality?
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) For the upcomming season... Vazquez = Verlander Rogers Bonderman > Contrera Willis >= Danks Robertson >= Floyd So, to take into account their rotation is as good or even better then ours, plus they have the best offense in baseball, it's tough to see how they will win only 79, but we somehow win 90. Our only real advantage against them is our pen. Todd Jones is gonna get lit up. LOL QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 28, 2008 -> 08:07 AM) Im going to remain my usual optimistic self and say the Sox go 92-70 and surprise everyone. Slam me if you please, I dont really care to argue, I just would rather hope that they are going to do well than dwell on thinking that they are gonna suck. I have a similar feeling to this year that i had in 2005, i dont know whats going to happen, but I dont have a sinking feeling about the season like I did last year.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:59 AM) Point taken, but come on, the odds of that happening again are beyond low. Lightning doesn't strike twice, and that's besides the fact that they are planning to start a guy who hasn't started at QB since high school in Matt Cassel. Who knows though, maybe Kevin O'Connell is going to be a good player. I have heard lots of good things about him, but he's still a rookie and rookie QB's for the most part have their problems. I guess they are bringing in Chris Simms too, although I've never thought much of him (although he does have talent). But I just can't see them going too far this season, you can't lose a guy like Brady and recover too often. I guess it's possible they could manufacture 10 or 11 wins and give themselves a shot in that division in the best case senario, but their Super Bowl hopes are over. You never know about your backups until they are forced into playing time. Cassel has one heck of an offense to work with, and plenty of protection on the line. Sure, the super bowl hopes may be gone, but I dont think their season is over by a long shot.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) Ummm, no. You might be right that the Bills are better than the Jets (it wouldn't surprise me, the Bills have been slowly but surely improving the last few years), but the Patriots without Brady are just another team. They do have talent yes, but they don't have a quarterback, and you can't win games that way unless you have a DOMINANT defense, and the Patriots don't. I remember the last time the Patriots lost a franchise QB to injury and plugged in a 6th round 3rd string quarterback into the mix. It turned out pretty good

    What do i do?

Honestly there is no advice for this. You go through it, you learn from it, and you move on. It is soooooo rare that first love and teenage love goes past your 20's, you meet different people and find other people in your life who can fill that void. I had almost this exact same thing happen to me when I went to SIU, I thought the world was ending, and I got over it and moved on. It sucked, but it happens. Long distance relationships just dont work. (insert obligatory NIU STD reference)
  6. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 02:56 AM) I'm coming to Chi on Tuesday and I'm battling a mean ass flu. Got up today and every joint in my body ached and I had that hot-cold tingle all over my skin. A summer flu out here sux. Imagine a flu in 115 degree heat, just miserable. I'm trying everything I can to kick it by Tuesday. Zicam, Ny Quil, Sudafed, orange juice, hot sauna..... Any other suggestions?? Ummm, the doctor?

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 10:37 PM) Baywatch - The Amateur Porn Years I think thats already on the Jenna Jameson channel
  9. Apparently Wood got mad at Jolbert Cabrera for celebrating too much after a game winning hit. Wood must not pay attention to his teammates when they play at home too much, they celebrate pretty much everything that happens.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 11:47 PM) Don't mean to sound like a dick, but this was a bad loss. Up 2-0 in the series and 2-0 in the game, we had a great opportunity to gain a game on the pests from Minnesota. But on the other hand ... we won two of three from the best team in baseball. We won two of three from the best team in baseball. I just hate losing the 2-0 lead when we had a chance for a monumental victory this late in the season in a home game. Still we won 2 of 3 from the best team in baseball. Not bad. its bad, then its not bad We did nothing but gain ground this weekend vs Minnesota, while playing one of the best teams in the league. a 2-0 lead isnt a huge lead, as much as I would like to have kept it, 2 runs usually isnt enough to keep down any team, much less the Angels. Im not upset about this series at all, had a chance to sweep which would have been cool, but the Sox still took the series
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) Never thought we could win tonight. Hoped to be competitive, never thought we would win. Great job all around. Maybe someday people will get off Lovie's back and realize he is the best coach we have had since Ditka. National media will shove it down our throats that Manning was rusty and other BS. We took it to them and rocked their faces. this is all an after thought. Didnt you hear? The entire NFL and all of their fans are now saddened by the loss of the man, the humanitarian, the model, the legend, Tom Brady.
  12. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) some of the responses in this thread lead me to believe that they just can't believe we lost the game. there was a rather huge chance of us losing this game, probably 60-65% chance They lost 3-2, you act as if it was a blowout. Your probability figures are ridiculous
  13. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) MetalliWho? Those old guys who used to fight piracy, but now embrace that cool download thing because it sells albums
  14. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) it's funny that people thought we stood a great chance at winning today with Hall, Fields, and Brian Anderson in the lineup and yet, we almost won the game (lost by 1 run, had the tying RISP in the 9th inning) Who said we had a great chance of winning? I saw plenty of people who said there was a chance and to not count it as a loss, but I dont recall anyone saying it was in the bag as if it was an easy W
  15. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) in other news, death magnetic leaked also, joe nathan has a 1.07 era, sick. lol He has blown 3 saves in the past 2 weeks. That ERA has to have taken some sort of a hit from that
  16. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:53 PM) I really don't think this team is doing anything without Quentin. I guess they can luck out by backing into the playoffs if Minnesota plays as poorly as they have. They are outclassed against the other top AL teams. you didnt think they were doing anything WITH Quentin, whats the difference
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) I really think this series went well, even if we lose, but I REALLY don't want it to end with Rodriguez celebrating on the mound. agreed, at this point they have done nothng but gain on the Twins. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the Detroit bullpen can hold one down And of course hope the Sox can still pull this out
  18. Brewers losing 10-0 to the Padres, getting no hit to add insult to injury
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 12:52 PM) He lost any rhythm he might have had earlier in the year, when his swing was compact. It's pretty simple against Saunders...hit the ball to the opposite field. If you try to pull him, you're dead. No it is far smarter to evaluate BA on his 1-3 at bats per every 4 weeks.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 12:42 PM) I still can't believe the Angels were dumb enough to give Matthews that big contract. After the year he had, there were a few teams willing to shell out the bucks for him.

    The Dark Knight

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 01:10 PM) Pee Wee Herman was already in Batman Returns. I was gonna make the joke earlier that he should be the Penguin if anyone, but I thought I would just let it lie
  22. ESPN gameday started up with 1 out, and Mathews up to bat with a 1-0 count. No indication on what Figgins did whatsoever, it isnt listed in the plays or anything
  23. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 11:57 AM) why the f*** is fields in the lineup mostly so you can complain about it for the next 3 hours
  24. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) I think the only way you are not eligible for the playoff roster is if you weren't on the 40 man roster before September, OR, if you were not called up by the team and on the 25 man roster before September. Either way, MacDougal should be eligible. Does that make Getz available then? Honestly I think he would be a better asset than Owens
