  1. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:32 PM) They may have but I am still more comfortable with Carlos out there. What? Did you quote the wrong post? Carlos who?
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:32 PM) You could've said "trio" and it would've sounded less... you know, gay LMAO
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) ARod left today's game with hamstring problem. Hopefully he'll miss the Sox series. MOTHERF***ER, A-Rod is killing my fantasy team!
  4. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) you shouldn't compared Carlos Quentin aka Casequito to Brian Frickin' Anderson...What an insult to Carlos. Quentin has had serious injuries keeping him at bay. What's Brian Anderson's excuse? Hmm, I didnt know surgery on your wrist wasnt a serious injury. My bad. Sorry, I didnt realize you bowed to the altar of Quentin. I will take my rational thoughts and leave you with your little world
  5. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Has it seemed like to anyone else that Crede has been much worse this year then his numbers would indicate? No
  6. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) Actually, he has about 500 at bats in his career and has never produced. Similar things could have been said about Quentin before this year. Hell, BA way outproduced Quentin during Spring Training
  7. Uribe's ESPN Gameday picture must have been taken on the day he was placed on waivers
  8. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) Are GameDay services just never available from Tampa? Im watching the game on ESPN gameday as I type this
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 11:40 AM) If that ball landed that far into the seats, it makes me think Friday's night would have landed over the video screen. When i saw it happen, I thought it bounced off the face of the video screen
  10. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 11:30 AM) he got the ring by default more than anything...he didn't do JACK on the field that year. And the point of my post was not Frank's minimal production when he was out with injuries in '05. The point was Chicago's GM trashed Frank Thomas for a reason. He hit 12 homeruns with 26 RBIs in 34 games that year. Thats not too shabby
  11. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:45 AM) LOL, so should frank wait around and hope matt stairs gets injured so he can have an opportunity, which he already fully deserves, to vest his option by performance? Yeah, what I imply is based on what parties involved said about the situation. Blue jays management only said they mutually decided on a release. You just dismissed what frank said about no longer being a part of the lineup because . . . ???? Because he complained about being benched despite batting .167. Immediately. Then said it was about money. Sometimes 39 year old players need a break, maybe he needed one. We have all seen Thomas piss and moan about where he hits in the lineup, wanting be treated better, the guy is a baby. If you dont agree, fine. Im not gonna drag this out with you because you feel the Blue Jays are the worst organization in the world for sending a pouty little me-first b**** home
  12. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:38 AM) That there is no way he was going to be benched indefinitely and not reach his option. I said you cant say that with certainty. Why? Because the season was 16 games old. Anything could have happened, Stairs could get injured tomorrow and they could have plugged Thomas right back in and he would be pissed and motivated, and possibly hit his stride. Now, there is no way any of could know that now. Its over. Implied, sure. I didnt make anything up. You imply plenty yourself
  13. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) No one said that. Right now its the only information out there. Since you don't have anything else, its pretty stupid to just make stuff up. what did i make up?
  14. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) Frank said he was told he wasn't going to be a part of the lineup. Do you have any information that says otherwise? I don't some I am inclined to believe him. I highly doubt he would freak out for no reason at all and start saying that. It doesn't make logical sense. yes, a player complaining about money should always be taken at their word. whatever
  15. The guy was benched for 2 games out of 16. 2 games. There is no way you can say with any degree of certainty that Frank was going to get his hot and start smoking the ball and get his at bats, and you also cant say that he was going to stay benched "indefinitely" and watch the option pass him by. This entire situation was escalated by Thomas bringing it to the media and acting like a baby, and now he is being paid to stay away from the Jays.
  16. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:23 AM) Also, how is B-mac doing? I haven't looked his stats up in a while. last I heard he was on the DL edit:
  17. QUOTE (The Beast @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:34 AM) Yeah, I think Gibbons is the problem and that he is a piece of s***. He had issues with Shea Hillenbrand too. It's not like Gibbons has room to talk, he's never done anything special in his coaching career. Actually he does. He is the coach. He is the one who is supposed to do the talking.
  18. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) are you kidding? i'd be pissed too if i had the chance to play a full season but the team wouldnt LET ME to save themselves money. that's just effing shady man. I think Thomas had every right to go off about it. for a guy who's career's been riddled with injury, i cant imagine it feels good to have even more time taken away from you because the organization doesn't want to honor the contract it gave you. First off, its 3 weeks into the season, it isnt as if he has been on the bench for months, it was a few games. He has been totally sucking it up outside of a few awesome games, and he needed a break, not unlike Thome when he was suspended, even though he was gonna sit anyways. Second off, Thomas brings this crap straight to the press and starts crying about money AGAIN. The guy has made more money in his career than most of us will see in our lifetimes, he isnt hurting for cash, i dont want to hear him b**** about incentive clauses and plate appearances. And third, the Big Pout did this: Neither side is innocent
  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) damn. f*** the blue jays. sons of b****es. how can you do that to a legend? this has all been handled just terribly. On both sides, THomas is no saint
  20. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 08:52 AM) Jay can't stand when anyone points out the s*** he pulls, so he does that passive/aggressive thing as a defense mechanism. I have seen some of the shots they have taken at each other in the last couple of years, but I havent seen Jay refer to him as a failing tribune columnist before.
  21. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) This is probably true, and who can blame him really.Bro's before ho's just doesnt resignate between men anymore. That phrase only applies pre-marraige
  22. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 06:00 AM) A TRUUUUE WAAAAARRIORRRRRR NEVER DIIIIIIIIIESSSSsssss!!!!! [snort] B- You failed to mention the blue sky, rivers of blood, one warrior nation, and the Sun
  23. Back when I was at SIU and Bruce Weber had just taken over the program, he was more than happy to get involved in getting the Dawg Pound involved. I emailed him one day, and the next day someone from his office called me and we had Dawg pound shirts getting made which he gave to me to give out to our student section. He also supplied those long balloons for us to wave behind the basket, and at the end of the season he hooked the entire section up with free 3 day passes to the MVC tournament with a coupon book full of hotel coupons and restaraunt coupons in the STL area. I would try and get your coaches involved and see if they have any ideas. We did alot of the normal crap(spirit fingers at free throws, turning our backs or reading the college newspaper during the other teams introductions) as well as a couple of unique cheers(some nice, some not so nice). Basically the idea is to have a great time. If you have a group of people in a small area that really care for the team, it just starts to snowball. When I was going to games, it was free for students because the team really stunk and they couldnt get anyone in the door. Now you cant get in the dawgpound because it fills up QUICK. Be loud, be obvious, have a good time. And drinking a few before the game never hurts
