  1. http://www.cracked.com/index.php?name=News...03&pageid=1 Dave Cambell is a quirky comic book reviewer/blogger who I tend to read here and there on his blog daveslongbox.blogspot.com. He was talking about his article for Cracked! magazine, and I thought some of you might enjoy this, I know I did.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) Read people! He and Stephen Merchant (who I think might actually be the funnier one) are writing Nov 30th's episode. Well why would I do that when i can get you to tell me again?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) I loved Kelly bringing Jim up to speed on "her life". I love the possibilities of the cantankerous Stanley for the future epidoes. He's easily one of my faves. I also am expecting to see some great Ryan/Jim battles. I bet Pam starts dating Ryan. Great news about Gervais!!! Whats the news? Is he going to be a big part of the show?
  4. Did anyone see whenMarvin Harrison dropped a pass late in the 4th quarter and it was called a catch, and the replay upheld the catch? I dont know what those refs were looking at, that ball clearly hit the ground and bounced up into Harrisons arms. Its a moot point since the Colts lost anyways, but it was really obvious that Harrison lost the ball.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Nov 19, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) Andy: "I'm always a step ahead. I'm like a carpenter...who works on stairs." By the way, is it just me or has Creed been extra freaky this season? His reaction to the woman using the breast pump had me rolling on the floor. "Right place at the right time." I think Creed had his coming out show during the finale of season two, when he bragged about being a kleptomaniac and for the rest of the show was shown stealing various strange things. He has been in the background doing some hilarious things ever since.

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 07:59 AM) you're an idiot LOL, I read this quickly and I was like "What the heck? What a jerk!" Then I remembered the comeback match that Andy and Dwight had. Phenomenal What were their respective titles? Regional assistant manager and Regional Director of Managers? "Watch a movie, the director always comes first. Do you watch movies?" "I watch movies. I have seen over 240 of them"

Andy vs Dwight will be epic. I think it is going to be even better than the Pam/Jim/other girl (Karen?) mess.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 09:06 PM) The space comes after punctuation, not before it. I just can't get past it, sorry. LOL, I think the exact same thing everytime I read one of his posts. They are unique, however. I'm gonna st.art putting periods wherever I want to as well
  9. I remember watching Frank drill a high fastball off of the centerfield resteraunt window in the skydome. But I totally concur, seeing Thomas in Blue and White will be odd indeed. I will have to say I will be quite surprised to see him leave Oakland though, there was nothing but a huge lovefest between Thomas and Oakland and Billy Beane in the last couple months of the season.
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) If only it were that simple. Guys like Joe Crede and Jon Garland "sucked a lot at baseball," too, their first year. Somethin' is clearly going on with Anderson that hasn't been made public yet. you also have to think that heightened organizational expectations have changed the evaluational process on BA. Garland and Crede werent replacing players who were integral parts of the previous season World Series team. They had less pressure on them to grow and mature, and Garland and Crede took plenty of time to develop. The organization wants titles now, and if BA's maturization process into the major leagues is going to prevent the current core from competing for a world series, then I think they are going to go another direction. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) You also have to take in account that both Crede and Garland had much more slack because at that period in time in their development the White Sox were just trying to compete for the division. Its different for Anderson because they plugged him in at CF on a defending championship team. The fact of the matter is after 2007, nobody knows what direction the White Sox will go. With multiple players heading into free agency after the 2007 season, KW and JR both know they need to be as strong as possible for THIS season. This is why IMO we are hearing talks about getting Rowand back or possibly a new CF. I'm not saying BA won't be a good player in this league one day, its just that KW is probably worried that the one day might not be in 2007. Ha, similar thought, different delivery.

    The Office

I love when Michael and Dwight found out that Scranton wasnt closing and Stamford was. "Oh my god, Michael, We are staying open and Stamford is closing!" "We did it? We Did it! We did it! (waves his hand towards the house) In your face" (Dwight and Michael hug and chest bump" Slight pause "How did we do it. What did we do?" "I have no idea. I dont get it. " And the daggers are gonna fly between Pam and the "other" girl. Jim is gonna have a mess on his hands soon. Im wondering if there will be a problem between Dwight and the other wierd guy in the Stamford office over who is the most weird. (there was an episode of Newsradio where French Stewart was a temp and Andy Dick and French Stewart tried to "outwierd" each other, it was great)
  12. Because his son was not playing defense. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...6110301819.html Unreal. They want to change this guys mind. Me? I would be demanding a new commissioner. I wouldnt want my kid playing in a league where the commissioner decides who plays when and where.
  13. Man, the WWE has no good feuds going right now in any show, so they throw all of their stars in a ring with no rhyme or reason and tell them to throw each other around. The show is really rotten right now, there isnt anything really interesting in any show. Yet, I cannot stop watching and I still think TNA is worse in the feuds dept(they need time limits on thir promos, Jarrett is the most boring human alive with a mic in his hand). So for no reason whatsoever I watch WWE waiting for something cool to happen. Bischoff was nice to see, getting his face stuck in the bananahammock-mans ass was crazy/awful/hilarious/sick and perverted.
  14. Kevin Federline just cut the worst promo I have ever seen. Unreal, the WWE is using K-Fed to try to boost ratings...

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) the actor who plays ryan is one of the main writers on the show. The actress who plays kelly has done a few. The actor who plays toby is also a writer or something of the sorts. Ryan also had a big part in the first or second season of "Punk'd" IIRC

QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) I almost died when Ed Helms and Jim started singing the Indigo Girls. That cracked me up. I thought they were singing the Cardigans
  17. QUOTE(juddling @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) I'm no expert on TNA or anything but i have caught a few shows lately and a couple things i've noticed is that the wrestlers seem to get no momentum after being thrown into the ropes. They almost seem too tight and you can't get any spring off of them. Some wrestlers look bad being thrown into the ropes and coming off almost walking into the next move. Also...Christian Rules!!!!! You blew a good thing WWE!!!!!!! I totally agree, all of the moves off of the ropes look forced whereas guys in the WWE at least look like they get a little spring off of the ropes.

QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 26, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) reruns already? LOL, I was just gonna post "Boo Reruns" Still a funny episode though, I like when Dwight and Michael ask Jim where to buy Gaydar
  19. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) That is my point. Who cares what his regular season stats are (2006) if you don't make it to the world series!!! Sirotka was still one of the Sox best players. Supposedly KW wasn't aware of the injury. Again, another statement supporting my argument. Same thing. When he traded Lee did he go? Yes. So he let him go. He didn't release him (I didn't say this). He didn't let him go via free agency (I didn't say this either). Everything you said made my argument stronger. You are for trading the MVP of the 2005 world series, and a MVP runner-up in 2006 because his value is high. Why? Why do you trade someone just because his value is high? Can KW replace his value in the lineup? Does he have someone waiting in the minors to replace him in RF? Lets say KW traded Dye after the World Series because his value was high, would the Sox even competed in 2006? Ordonez and Thomas were "let go" because of money and injury concerns, not because KW decided he didnt want them. Lee was traded because KW realized he needed to put money elsewhere(catcher, relief, left field, 2nd base), not because their value was high, which is your argument. If I would have said "KW let Thomas and Ordonez go because their value was high", then I would be strenghtening your argument. Right now the return package would have to be incredible for KW to consider moving Dye, and I dont know if there is anyone out there willing to make that deal.
  20. I think it is quite amazing that they both backed out of their debate schedules against each other. Its like both of them were like "I cannot handle the questions they are gonna ask me" and threw their hands up and decided to let their fates rest on their attack ads. It is very hard to see any sort of good that these two have done with all of the crap being thrown up on the wall.
  21. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) I know Dye had a great season last year but what are the odds of him repeating it? Remember that we won it all with Dye hitting 31 hrs and 89 rbi but we didn't make the playoffs with him hitting 44 hrs and 120 rbi. Why? Cause our pitching sucked and pitching wins. Yet, Jermaine Dye was the MVP of the World Series QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) KW is full of suprises. I remember he traded, what was probably our best pitcher at the time, Mike Sirotka. Do you even remember that? Sirotka was damaged goods, he never pitched in the bigs again. KW was blacklisted for a period of time after that happened. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) KW traded the most hard nosed players on a World Series team, Aaron Rowand. And KW ended up with the Comeback player of the year while Rowand broke his ankle. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) KW let three of the most talented players in Whitesox history (Ordonez, Thomas and Lee) go. Don't put it past him. He didnt let Lee go. He traded Lee for Podsednik and Vizcaino.
  22. Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon was putting together a nice career before heroin ended it prematurely
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Kevin Nash and the X-Division angle has had some good stuff. The first 6 star match and Hall may make an appearance. Watch below for the press conference. Meh, I remember watching that stuff out of Nash 8 years ago in the WCW. TNA is pulling the same schtick that WCW tried against WWE, without Ted Turner backing them. It is coming across as very unoriginal and lackluster. Besides, when is the last time Kevin Nash did something noteworthy in the ring? Has he even wrestled since the N.W.O. was ushered out the of the WWE? I know he has backed out of numerous matches in TNA due to injury since he has been there.
  24. Nick and Aaron Carter. In the ring. On Friday Night Smackdown. W. T. F!?!?!?!
  25. i have a feeling that Sweeney AND Fields are going to be tough to send down to AAA next year. Sweeney is a good looking player and he looked pretty confident in his approach to the game, I dont know if KW or Ozzie will be able to send him down for more seasoning if he is ready to contribute on a semi-regular basis. He could challenge BA for playing time and Ozzie can get away with his lefty-righty switches with Sweeney playing Center against righties instead of Mackowiak.
