  1. QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 08:55 PM) Great game by the Sox. Looks like I may be off this board for a week.. I thought that "eat s***" era was supposed to be going away.. And thats a Hell No!
  2. Garland was amazing tonite. He had command of all of his pitches and I swear I saw him hit 94 a couple of times(wether or not the WCIU gun is correct or not), and he never sweated the base runners. I have to admit, I was shocked at Brandon Inges BA and I was surprised that Shelton hasnt hit 20 HR yet with his hot start.
  3. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) :headshake Seriously great game... Garland was amazing... but this phrase needs to die a quick threat... It makes people think your like 12... :banghead quit whining about it, ignore it if you dont like it.
  4. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) kyyle, if you want man, i could always make you some compilations of stuff and bands you like i can use upload sites like yousendit and others to get the full albums to you If you feel funky, feel free. Let me know where to point and click, and I will do it
  5. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) sounds like your just getting older to me. new music sucks anyways. Oh I hate you for that
  6. QUOTE(loltrain @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) Rogers v Contreras is no contest? Uhh, Rogers and Contreras have been equally horrible the last month, if anything that's the crappiest pitching match up of the series. I find it funny that every White Sox fan thinks the Tigers are playing 100% and can't possibly do better, but even though almost everyone in your lineup is having a career year the Sox haven't "clicked yet" or "aren't playing their best ball" Both teams have been playing great, and their is no need to make excuses at this point. ehh, I think Contreras gives us the best chance to win every time he goes out right now. he may be struggling, but he has still been far better than the rest of the staff even with his struggles.
  7. I think I have been trapped in a transitional phase of music in my life. I really like classic rock, I have put Zeppelin, T Rex, The Cars, ELO, Dylan, Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Jethro tull, Peter Gabriel, and Pink floyd on my Ipod recently, and i also have my wide array of 90's-2000's rock/rap/jazz on my ipod as well. But nothing new strikes me anymore. I think the radio stations of Chicago have totally deprogrammed me and are forcing me to think outside of the box for new music, but I dont have the time(or the inclination) to research music I would like, so I have stuck to what I really really like(Failure, Brand New, 311, Blinker the Star, etc.) instead of seeking out new music. Its a really strange phase for me, I used to be "that guy" at our college parties who would break out anything and everything you never knew about and blast it.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) Here's the question we're all answering without actually saying so: We've been willing to take chances on guys with rumored behavior issues before. Is there a line we're not willing to cross in terms of bad behavior? Wil Cordero, Carl Everett, Roberto Alomar, Jose Paniagua, anyone? Hopefully the Sox are turning over a new leaf in terms of bringing in players with attitude problems, but I would have to say that line has been repeatedly crossed by the Sox. However, bringing in brett myers so soon after this incident is ludicrous, its a lightning rod for criticism. Myers would have to be an ace to survive the media onslaught, and I dont think he is that good.
  9. Is this the same foot that he messed up last year?
  10. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) Boxscore shows that Frank was pinch hit for in the 4th inning in a scoreless game (at the time). Did Frank hurt himself again? ESPN said he left the game with an illness
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) I thought I heard somewhere it was a concious decision. It's possible the WBC had an effect, but that would have worn off by now. I just want him traded. Longer season, then the WBC, then Spring training, right into the season. His arm is probably extremely dead right now. He is most definitely hurting the team with his loss of velocity though, and it needs to be addressed either through a long stint on the DL to rest with McCarthy taking his place, or a trade.
  12. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) I think your analysis of Garcia's value is heavily tainted by homerism. But I don't want to argue about this any more. Feel free to continue if you like. didnt think so. Dont assume
  13. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) He's a free agent, so he's going somewhere. not true. possibility, not gauranteed
  14. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) I think you're being overly optimistic and homeristic, but maybe I'm wrong. We'll agree to disagree. really? Quote one of my homeristic posts.
  15. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) Garcia isn't a guy who is pitching the same as he always has, but just isn't getting the job done. For the entirety of this season, his stuff has been completely different from how it used to be. Do you think that is just going to magically turn itself around? I'll guarantee you that no other GM thinks it will. Anyone who thinks there is a good trade market for Garcia and that GM's are lining up to give away key players for him is living in the most interesting and odd fantasy world. I think you overreact. A lot.
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) Thank God the Sox offense has been on fire this season. No kidding. Lots of good offenses fade when the pitching isnt up to par. This offense can explode against any given team at any given moment.
  17. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) I don't mean to insult, but are you kidding? A team in a pennant race would trace FOR Garcia? Do you think a team in a pennant race would trade for a pitcher who has been nearly an automatic loss spot in the roation? No team in a race would want him. No one could risk it. You don't pick up a reclamation project and put him in your rotation for a stretch run. reclamation project, lol apparently the DFA is already done
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Especially seeing how most people on here probably didn't even know what it meant until recently and a lot of them still don't know what it means. Exactly. Just letting him go with nothing in return is like burning money. Doesnt Russ Ortiz collect his paychecks from Arizona and Baltimore this year?
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) Stop posting, just stop hitting the god damn button. lol
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 09:16 AM) I think Freddy'll be throwing just fine today. I have a secret source who told me so. Psychotropic drugs dont count as sources
  21. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 04:05 AM) We need a banner going into this game. Something BIGTIME Peter Gabriel style. Maybe godzilla ozzie eating matsui or something. And that is the AFLAC random post of the day
  22. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:33 AM) Too bad they had to sign Erubiel Durazo to a MLC a few days back. Man if he gets back to the form he had for Oakland a few seasons back, well the Twins are going to be good. Very good. Durazo is a guy who lives on the DL. He is kind of like Kerry Wood in the "When Healthy...." aspect comes in to it.
  23. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) When did playboy mansion start having fatty night... that black chick is way too fat to be playboy... Fat? What is your problem? What an ignorant thing to say
