  1. Yeah, over the X-Mas break, trying to decide over writing, sleeping in, and which of the thousands and thousands of bowl games to watch. Thanks for the messages guys!
  2. Hmmmm...Paul Byrd as an Indian....interesting. Gotta hand it to Paul, he can still give you around 5-7 good innings an outing.
  3. Not surprising that the Yankees are trying to sign just about anyone and everyone they can get their hands on, and to throw the green stuff to lure them in.
  4. Juan Pierre? I would like to see him in a Sox uni, but IMO Brian Anderson is the starting CF next year. Ichiro Suzuki? Boy I would luuuuv to see this, however now that the M's just signed the Japanese All Star Catcher Kenji Jojima, the chances of seeing Suzuki here are slim and none... Johnny Damon? Scott Boras is the agent...fuhgedaboudit. Bill Mueller? Maybe as a great utility player/backup to Joe Crede. Brian Giles? No, too expensive, mid 30s. Luis Gonzalez? Interesting...good player, can still hit, good left handed bat and good veteran leadership. Hmmmm....interesting. Can he still play decent LF??? He would make a good #2 hitter with his contact swing and pop in his bat. Other: This is what I chose. IMO the Sox will look to upgrade the pen, specifically if they can find a great LHP reliever to take over for Damaso Marte. I still feel that Neal Cotts has an outside shot at the #5 for next year (in case for some slim reason that BMac has a terrible spring), however he might be in line for a starter role down the road.
  5. OK, see, 5 years ago, my newly married wife and I still had on the rose colored glasses. Still have them on since. So count me as one of the unknowns who missed the story. Just glad to see Paulie back in the fold.
  6. Dear FutureSox.Com, Hello there! I'm eagerly anticipating your Top 25 prospects report. What's the ETA on the report? Thanks, Oilcan - avid, rabid White Sox fan since 1973.
  7. Good comment. Kong looks to be in good shape. At least he's not rotund or obese. As long as he stays in great shape, then hopefully the hip will be a non-issue.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) No. This has been known for a while. Thanks R44.... OK then. IMO, it seems that the hip is not a bone of contention, no pun intended. So let's say Paulie signs a 5 yr $65 mil deal with the Sox, and a mutual option for a 6th year. Does that seem risky? Will it be worth the risk? IMO, yes it would be. Paulie's numbers have been going up, not down. If Paulie keeps getting treatment and conditioning to at least temper that hip, then I feel that his numbers won't falter. What does anyone else think?
  9. Maybe I missed it, if I did, sorry folks. From the Tuesday Baltimore Sun article - OK, fire away.
  10. WTF!?!?!?!? From the article: Is this just plain Baltimore BS?!?!!??
  11. It's starting to get interesting. But IMO Kenny knows that if he cannot sign Paulie, he will get some severe flacking for it, unless it similar to a Scott Boras-type contract. Aubrey Huff? Dunno. What's his scouting report??? What other possibilities do the Sox have in case Paulie does fly the coup? Somehow, I don't think putting Ross Gload at 1b will strike fear in the hearts of the Red Sox, Angels and Astros like it did during the playoffs. Heck, like I just said; that's justification to sign Paulie at any cost! Paulie, come on back!!! I'm sorry about that Adam Dunn writeup! I'm eating crow!!!
  12. Scott Boras = Drew Rosenhaus I can see it know with the Joe Crede negotiations: "Are you kidding, Kenny? Joe is the best thing since Frank Robinson, hell, he's better defensively than Brooks Robinson! Back troubles, smack troubles, just give him an 8-year, $80 million dollars base with incentives, and we'll call it a day, what do you say?" Uh................on second thought........Josh Fields anyone???
  13. Funny, that's what they said about Jermaine Dye and Carl Everett also last year. Wonder what they did???
  14. How can you not like Charrrllllieeee after that follow me to freedom shtick?!?!?
  15. Nice column. Can't wait to see what Josh Fields and Chris Young can do.
  16. As the weather gets warmer, Haeger will get tougher. I hate to say it, but if he ever pitched for a warm weather team ala Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves or Florida Marlins, he would be a solid #4-5 with the humidity factor.
  17. Geez, the spin masters are already hard at work trying to make stories,eh? Must be a slow November...
  18. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Marte - He Gone! El Duque - 5th or 6th starter Frank - DH for the Pale Hose Willie Harris - Last man standing on the bench LOL Manny - Manny Who?!?!?

    Congrats Queen Prawn

    Congrats Queen Prawn!!!!!!
  20. Wonder how long Eddie O will stay in Pittsburgh.......
  21. I luv the puck. The Hawks just suck out loud this year. This year's team would've done pretty good...if they were all playing in 03-04!!!
  22. I've been re-reading this post. Can you believe, from the first post of this thread to what Bobby Jenks did for the Sox this year, how far along Bobby has come?
  23. I'll eat crow to the fact that a month ago, I suggested getting rid of Paul Konerko, and going after Adam Dunn, to balance out the right-handed hitting lineup. Guess that's the reason why I'm not the GM, eh?
  24. And on the 7th day, the Rally Perry is born.
  25. Monday?!?!? Crap, my first day at my new job. Better get the Tivo ready.....
