  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) If Rondon could hit .210 in majors, he'd have a 10 year career. You don't give up on that at SS The problem is if Rodon can't crack .180 in A+
  2. Anderson still needs to show more plate discipline, but you have to love his progress over the course of the year: Mo W/K April 1/18 May 4/28 Jun 5/16 Jul 6/14 All while maintaining a .300 BA
  3. Kanny game 2: two runners picked off, 1 CS. Consistent quality of base running up and down the system.
  4. Great, on top of everything else now the Sox have Crabbes
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:51 PM) Not gonna lie, I know you all want pitchers, I want pitchers, but secretly wanted benintendi Same here
  6. Keenyn Walker now has 7 AA ABs this year and 5 of those ended in whiffs. Let's hear it for toolsy outfielders!
  7. I'm sure glad we drafted Hawkins over Gallo. Maybe that's not entirely fair but...man.
  8. Today is the first time in over a year I've been able to go to a Sox game. Glad I picked a real winner.
  9. Hard to tell which was the worst part of that play--Conor's 'fielding' or Melky's throw. Both were terrible.
  10. At least they blew this one quickly so everyone could go on and do other things with their evening.
  11. Blah... We just dropped 3 of 4 at home to a team that entered into the series with a 13-22 record. RV has to go.
  12. the winning streak already feels like a really long time ago...
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2015 -> 06:57 PM) I think you got what I call Bajenaru syndrome. Surkamp is a 4A guy as a starter. His only hope of the majors is as a reliever, ala Zach Putnam. If batters saw him three times a game, they would kill him at the major league level. Back in the old days we called this the Scott Ruffcorn Disease.
  14. This is more like what I was envisioning the season would be like in Dec-February...let's keep it going!
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 18, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) Holy Moly! Anderson with TWO walks tonight. I hope and pray a switch has been flipped. Amen to that. It's not even the walks so much as him showing signs of improved plate discipline...let's hope this is the start of a trend with him.
  16. Such a dumb place to use Rodon. I am completely fed up with RV.
  17. Anderson batting 2nd at BHam tonight...wonder if this is to coax him into taking more pitches. As good as he's been, no walks the first two weeks of the season is not encouraging. Even by the Sox poor standard of plate discipline.
  18. Allen is struggling and what does RV do? Gives him a free out. Dumb..

  20. QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Mar 1, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) Orestes " Minnie" Minoso He may have been the only Orestes in Mlb history. Orestes Destrade http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/destror01.shtml
  21. Minnie was my dad's 2nd favorite White Sox when he was a kid, close behind Nellie Fox. During the 2005 playoff run, I went to Games 3 and 4 in Anaheim, the last one with a friend of mine who happened to be Cuban. We had nosebleed seats, but the last few innings the crowd really thinned out, and so we decided to relocate to a section along the 1st base line where we saw a large contingent of Sox fans. Shortly after we sit down, I realize we are sitting right next to Minnie Minoso. Minnie spoke with us throughout the rest of the game, and he was the 1st person I high-fived at the end of the game. He couldn't have been nicer or more excited about the Sox. Minnie loved the Sox through and through. Talented, classy, loyal--you couldn't ask for a better representative for the organization. RIP Minnie.
