  1. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Yeah, color me masochistic have I told you my other hobbies include, stabbing myself in the eye, stubbing my toes, and watching ABC's Saturday night line-up? It's not like you have much choice, what else is there to do in NY on a Saturday night?
  2. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) The way I figure, I lived with Twins' fans during the collapse of '03. At least in New York no one cares about those "flyover teams" and I can grieve without being mocked constantly. and no matter how this ends you're gonna be back for more next year. Sucker!
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if Ozzie closed the clubhouse door today and had a little chat with the team. All through spring training we heard "we are family." Time to pick each other up, pull together and win.
  4. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) I usually stay out of this, but you know, stop, just stop, okay? Am I drinking the kool-aid? No. I'm cheering and watching my team play a sport that always brings me joy. Do I want them to choke and lose at the end of the season? No. But I'm going to root for them and believe that they can make the playoffs and that something good will happen until they are mathmatically eliminated or lose a playoff series. It's not about kool-aid or being blind, it's about honestly loving this team and this game and not throwing in the towel when things go badly. And for the record, if you get this upset about something that happens on a website with people you don't know, you might have a problem. Oh, and I'm well aware that I'm a b****, so you don't need to tell me. Right on, b****! Great post, I'm with you all the way. Besides, I've yet to feel the low that I felt in 1983 watching Landrum's home run clear the fence. I've got a ways to go yet.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) no, the sad thing is they have to split, and even 2-4 against them wouldn't be disaster, but I only see 1-5, not to mention the Twins who kill the Sox in the second half you know the Twins would love nothing more than to knock the Sox out of it, beat them when they're down. It's gut check time in the sox clubhouse, no doubt about it. Doesn't matter who's pitching tomorrow, the Sox need to win. Jon Garland -- be the man.
  6. Maybe the Royals will get on a roll and sweep the tribe. Maybe I'll be a better person if the Sox miss the playoffs. Maybe monkeys will fly out my ass. Maybe it really doesn't matter. One thing is for certain -- I like Joe Borchard. I know we won't see him for another week or so again, but I like the way he's hitting the ball.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) Well you'll at least be taking a break. bummer, I didn't get a chance to bet him. Hey, where's the love people?? I called this rally damnit!!!!!
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) Want to bet? name it
  9. I'm calling it right here, right now at 1:37 PST -- the Sox are going to rally, win this game and turn this awful slide around.
  10. I don't think the Sox are going to let this one get away, I really don't. They're hitting the ball too well. Seriously, I think they're going to put up a crooked number in the 8th.
  11. I just want my white sox back. Fiesty, tenacious, scraping out runs early in the game, putting pressure on the other team's defense, sound pitching. And lots and lots of wins. I want those guys back. Enough already.
  12. Hello darkness my old friend... What the hell. Maybe they'll sneak into the playoffs and surprise us. Let's hope so. Cause I ain't looking forward to Minny playing spoiler this weekend while the AAAA royals ride into Cleveland. Six could be three before you know it. Wait, this is supposed to be an optimistic thread. We own Cleveland and will be up nine games by Friday next week.
  13. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) FATHOM, here we go again. We scored 9 RUNS, and we had Garcia pitching against the lowly Royals. Now that we lost the game, you BLAMED Ozzie for the lost! Seriously, how old are you? Your statements are very childish! Without Ozzie, this team DEFINITELY will not be leading AL Central division right now. You want to come back to Jerry Manuel??? He deserves a helluva lot of credit for the record, just as he deserves a helluva lot of blame for not getting this team back on track. I mean really, they've been in a f'n slump since the first of August. Turning up the music in the locker room and telling everyone to have fun ain't f***ing working anymore.
  14. Buy stock in Delta and Northwest -- they have a better chance of paying off.
  15. The Sox are not the same team we saw rack up a 15 game lead in the central and there is absolutely no indication that they will be again, no matter how hard we wish it. I'm not conceding dick. I have no way of predicting the future. But something has really gone south on this team...BAD. I just don't know what it is. :banghead
  16. QUOTE(Beastly @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) Hit it right on the noggin. We suck. yep. way to stick with hermanson, ozzie. great call. :puke
  17. No love from the A's...Sox are going to have to win this division on their own.
  18. WTF IS GOING ON WITH THESE WILD PITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) i uribe's HR pose. especially when it's not a dinger!
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) We need to move PK back to the 4th spot quickly. Hey Paul, what happened to hitting the ball to right field? Remember? LAST WEEK???
