  1. It might not be 50% Sox fans here but it’s not too far from it here
  2. There’s a lot to be excited about going into next year and the years to come. I’m glad I paid attention this whole year when I’ve drifted away since 2005-2006. Felt like we could have done something this year, but tons of talent. See y’all next year!
  3. Just gonna say...this board single handedly willed Joe Crede to hit a grand slam 14 years ago. Rally Engel.
  4. A lot of game left. These guys have not let getting down scare them away. Pitching just needs to hold it together. We can put up 9-10 if need be. Let’s go!
  5. NO!!! I don't want your hugs! Get away from me! I want to know what DVD to watch and I get mocked! That's it. I hate all of you. Good night. (just kidding. seriously you are all really cool. except for a couple of you. you all know who i'm talking about. or not. i'm not here enough to actually know who sucks and who doesn't, but just assume that i'm talking about the sucky people.)
  6. I take it back. You all suck.
  7. Which of the 7 DVD set should I watch right now. First responder determines what I watch. You all kick ass.
  8. Weren't people calling for Ozzie's head for keeping Anderson in the lineup earlier in the year? I think Ozzie makes mistakes and is an unconventional coach, but I also think that part of that is part of what helped us win the Series last year. Our pitching WAS amazing last year. But that team was also on the ropes at one point and I give a large chunk of the late season comeback to Ozzie and Crede. So to say "he doesn't know how to motivate a team and wake them the hell up" doesn't seem entirely fair. And I do think it's a good point that, for as bad as it feels like this team is sometimes, their still right in the middle of the wild card race. One more thing...statements like this, "For all the Ozzie apologists, since you believe the only reason the Sox won the WS last year was him," do nothing to further a real discussion about Ozzie. Plus, seriously, the dude was our coach of our team that won the flippin' World Series last year. He doesn't even get like one year of leeway? I can understand criticism. I just can't understand criticism that either isn't at least somewhat tempered or over the top criticism like "fire him now". Seems a bit ridiculous.
  9. Rock Raines hooked me up with tickets a month or two ago, so first of all he deserves mad props for that. I'm taking my nephew to the game and want to do some tailgating. We tailgated at the Twins/Brewers game at Miller Park last year (he's from Minnesota) and he loved it. I'm wondering whether there's a good area to tailgate or if there's anything else I should make sure to show him. Thanks for any suggestions!
  10. I get chills listening to that call from "the Night of the Rally Crede". That's was one of the coolest freaking things I've ever been a part of. Rally Crede.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) Yes, you got personal with him. Even a mod that was reading it thought it was over the line. I may be negative as hell, but one thing I don't do is start personal attacks on other members, something you and jphat are known for around here. OOHHH...so now HELL doesn't have feelings?!?
  12. That home run is just going to make it hurt that much worse for them when we come back.
  13. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) We are losing and playing bad, but guys we are all Sox fans and "message board friends." Just everyone stop the snooty comments and we can all just come down. It's one game and our emotions should not get out of hand because of one poorly played game. Come on guys. Group hug.
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) And your so-called help includes a comment that I am 'f***ing annoying'. So helpful. I feel like we're such close friends now. Can you feel the love tonight?
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) Tonight was important, as I've seen Garcia pitch, and he doesn't have a chance in hell of keeping the Red Sox under 5 runs tomorrow. If Garcia allows less than 5 runs tomorrow, and the White Sox win, I won't post for 5 games. I don't want anybody to not post, but people still talk like games are lost when we're down by a few runs at any point. I just have no worries with this team anymore because everything seems to work out. Ooh ho ho it's magic. You know. Never believe it's not so. I'll double down on Garcia. He's letting up less than 5.
  16. I swear that some of you haven't ever seen this team play before. They'll win tonight. And if they don't they'll win the next two. Hitting as well as they are and down by 3 with more than a few innings left shouldn't be too much. Just need a little Bonnie Tyler. That's all.
  17. Wait...this can't be right...we didn't have the SAUX fans helping us.
  18. Tizzle, I'm a Sox guy first, Twinkies second. I love your reasoning. Now let's go hit the ballot box for our boy AJ.

I know you never quite know what you really look like, but god I hope that's not what I look like.
  20. I really don't mean to make my last post sound like a post that says that "if you don't vote for AJ your a pussy like it sounds (and like I said). My bigger point is that last year we (as a fan base - and by that I mean soxtalk) had fire - and it didn't matter whether out player was the best - we wanted our player in the All Star Game and we got him there. It worries me that I don't see the same fire anymore. I want to be able to feel that same insanty that I did when I was reading game threads in the last 20 games of the year last year when everything was ramped up and we were listening to Bonnie Tyler and beleving in the Rally Crede. The second that goes, it all goes. In the same vein I'd hate to lose the insensity that we had for our love for our players that we had last year like when WE voted in AJ. SAUX fans BS. WE voted Pods in last year, we can vote in AJ if we want this year. It's a matter of whether we want to. The choice is up to us.
