  2. Look on the bright side, you're young enough to not have experienced 1970.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 11:36 AM) Rowand really breaks down Luis on the Garfien podcast http://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/tags/white-sox-talk-podcast Great stuff. Really gets me excited for spring training!
  4. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 02:00 PM) Of the most mentioned contenders for him, they are second only to the Cubs in teams I don't want him to go to. I think best case, besides us, would be the Rangers or the Mariners. I don't think they're good enough for him to make them annoying to us when we enter our window of contention. I hope to heck the Mariners can land him. Great fit for both Seattle and Otani.
  5. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 08:51 PM) Cubs in 7?? It can still happen. Maddon's a genius.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 05:53 AM) Cubs fans calling the score want to bench Heyward, Baez, Bryant, Schwarber, and maybe Zobrist too Great idea!!! All of 'em! You don't think maybe Cubbie fans are on the ledge, do ya?
  7. Very saddened by this. R.I.P.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 07:52 PM) Maddon left Montgomery in way too long Yeah, but he's a genius.......right?
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 08:56 AM) Her biggest flaw was her name. If she was named Jackie Smith, or even Belinda FartKnocker, she would have won. But Hillary Clinton has such a negative connotation, it was the final nail in the coffin. Totally agree with this. I had told many people probably 7 or 8 years ago that Hillary could never win. Too many people hate her, unfairly or not doesn't matter. Just as another Bush (Jeb) couldn't win.
  10. Winning is fun. Beating the Cubbies is REALLY fun!
  11. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 02:33 PM) First game I ever attended saw Gary Peters throw a complete game, 1-hitter against Baltimore. July 15, 1963: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1963/B07150CHA1963.htm Pretty hard to top that! This is a good question. Off the top of my head without looking things up I've seen Peters, Bradley, Wood, Bahnsen, Lemonds, Stone, Barrios, Kravec, Perez, Buehrle, Garland, Garcia, Contreras. First game I saw Early Wynn was going for W #299. He didn't get it, losing to a young Jim Kaat and the Twins 2-0. I can't remember all the pitchers I saw in the 60's or even the 70's but I know I saw Peters, Pizarro, Wood, Stone and Bahnsen. I was at the game where Buehrle made his major league debut in relief of Baldwin. I was at the game too when Freddie Garcia made his home debut.
  12. Generally speaking, I pretty much have the same luck. These days though since I can only see the Sox when they come to Seattle I go to all the games so I have a better chance of seeing the top of the rotation guys. Not always though, of course. I can always say though that I saw Humber's perfect game. For the most part too, the Sox have pretty good success here. So I at least see quite a few more wins than losses.
  13. Love guacamole. Avocados are in my top 5 foods. I eat at least one a day.
  14. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 09:35 AM) Always appreciated his honesty and the man absolutely knew the game. For any interested here is the link to the interview that I had with him. Like in real life, he wasn't afraid to speak his mind and had some wonderful stories: http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/rwas/in...=11&id=2852 Pretty sure I had seen that interview before but enjoyed reading it again. Thanks for posting it. Jimmy was unique that's for sure. He and Harry were my all-time favorite broadcasting team They were sure fun to listen to.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 18, 2017 -> 03:15 PM) Chuck Berry, 90 John Lennon once said, “If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'". He was truly a legend.
  16. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) uh. can't it be both? Apparently when you turn 84 you just die.
  17. 1. It's a Wonderful Life 2. A Christmas Story 3. A Christmas Carol (1938) Others that I enjoy a lot: The Ref, Miracle on 34th Street, 3 Godfathers (John Wayne), Home Alone 1 & 2, Trapped In Paradise, Joyeux Noël.
  18. I feel much like the original poster. I root for the Bears to lose but I can't do that with the Sox. Not from game to game but when they lose I'm ok with it, sort of. I realize how the Cubs did it, being really, really bad for numerous years....f*** them.
  19. Sox had better get a real good haul for Sale or you just don't trade him. I'm thinking Sale and Frazier to the Dodgers for Seager, De Leon and Puig. Seager and De Leon are good young pieces to build on and from the Dodgers standpoint: Sale and Kershaw, are you kidding? They'd maybe be able to beat the Cubs next year, they'd have to be tempted even giving up Seager.
  20. I was at the Bulls - Trailblazers game last night. Great game to be at! When my son and I got there we were pretty disappointed that Rondo AND McDermott were both out. I didn't like the bulls chances but turned out to be what Taj described as one of the Bulls' best games in recent years. Prior to the game Lopez was out for like 45 minutes just working on his outside shot. Also, Michael Carter-Williams was working out. What a surprise Jerian Grant was. He played a great game and Jimmy looked like a true superstar out there. He's a joy to watch. That's my one Bulls game for the year. I'm 2-0 now in Portland after going 2-0 in Utah.
  21. While he wasn't the best manager the White Sox ever had, he certainly wasn't the worst. He was no Terry Bevington.
  22. I haven't watched since June but still follow how they're doing and watch highlights.
  23. I'm so sorry to hear of this. I extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family, from my family.
  24. Winning is fun!! Beating the Cubs is lotsa fun!!! Shutting them out is f*cking awesome!!!
