39 wins this year?
The Lions won as many games as the Pistons this year. I wonder if the Sox can match the Bears... (sarcasm)

Yeah, I starting to look like no one really won that trade.
It is so early for that. Again people need to keep in mind with the broken foot last year Eder is still in the conditioning ramp up phase post TJS. He needs innings and could still be physically recovering his stuff. If you include AFL, he is at about 60 inning post TJS as a starter.

No one was going to give up much for a rental player of his caliber. Hindsight is easy. They tried.
They might not have gotten as much as the year before, but they would have gotten a lot.

He's hurt/oblique.
And he already helped the Marlins to one more post season (than zero with Eder)...
He's hurt, shouldn't people be mocking him for being injured again?

For those that want to complain about the Burger trade, he is hitting .228 with a .281 OBP and a .702 OPS for Miami.
Looks like the trade might end up being a wash for both sides.
You knew he was slumping when his numbers weren't getting updated daily.

Jirschele would take it, Montoya would take it. Just about anyone JR would actually hire would take it.
Montoyo wouldn't have taken the job of bench coach if he wasn't willing to take over as Mgr.

If you can manage the 40 man to get him here, there's literally nothing to lose, but it is worth mentioning that he screams 4A splits.
AAA career 282/.366/.456/.822
MLB career .242/.298/.354/.652

In other news, gotta imagine we see Mendick tomorrow for Sosa. Dudes on fire for Charlotte.
Here's the thing. Mendick is not on the 40. We already have 2 40 man moves in coming with Clevinger and Pham. That would mean we need to figure out a 3rd guy to boot.

These guys are literally all playing for their careers. I don’t think anyone is just “going through the motions”. They just aren’t any good.
This seems like it should be really, really obvious, but apparently not for some.

This isn’t a joke, I’m worried about Hawk. Poor guy must be breaking his recliner once a game.
He's probably pretty happy tbh. He thinks Brooks shoved him out the door.

I watch until my wife comes in and says "why the f*** are you watching this s%*#?" And then she puts on some true crime show.
That's fair. True crime is less brutal and gory.

Like how the hell is Benintendi making $15 mil a year with an OPS below .400? If that was me, I'd consider retiring from embarrassment.
He's got like 60 million reasons why.

The one comment that made me laugh was about the “toolsy” first rounder from last June…which I guess was supposed to be taken as tongue in cheek.
And the free agency class’ reasons for 2024-25 optimism could have been written by none other than an intern at Boras Corp.
It will be quite interesting to see how the Sox can creatively avoid spending $100+ million on a single contract (yet) again.
Because of attendance, duh.

My guess is that ownership has already been interviewing potential managers, perhaps at least interim managers. Getz has likewise done a terrible job. Changes have to be made when the Sox return home from this road trip.
Can I interest you in a 37 year old OF?

Gonna need some explaining on this one.
Still memorialized in Buehrle>Wood’s avatar.
I was trying to remember who kept it forever.

No, the tank era started when every single player regressed from 2021-22, and turned the major league roster into a dumpster fire. Being ignorant of the teams position and failing to get a return for expiring assets would have only compounded the problem that this team was already facing. It is sunk cost fallacy. The failure already occurred. It's what is done afterwards that can cost the team years and prospect capital.
