So AJP said he no longer works for the White Sox because he criticized their player development. I am drawing a blank on this. Can anyone share this story?
There is no story on this. AJ is the only source. The Sox haven't said anything, and I am sure they won't. All of these "inside source" guys will probably be back soon with clever rewords of exactly what AJ just said they try to pass of as new information.

Well, now that he's here, hopefully he comes in and whips some of these fools into shape, rakes and then we trade him for someone interesting to plug in for a 2 month tryout in August/September.
Or he puts up a .400 OPS like the rest of them...

If anything, he should have been worth like 7-10 million on a one year deal
No one except the Sox wanted him, and the Sox only took him at half of that number.

This is the truest statement of the whole thread.

Thinking a bit more about this question, the real point isn't embarrassment. It really goes to forcing enough embarrassment to actually force substantive change of the organization from top to bottom. If we don't achieve that level of embarrassment, this group will continue to fly under the radar with business as usual, pretendingthis was all a part of the plan. That's why I want this to burn. Let a new forest grow up in its ashes.

Vaughn was a career negative fWAR player coming into the year. By no means is he someone that should have been relied upon. I have no idea how Benintendi just lost all ability to hit the ball hard. I would joke that he stopped juicing after the big contract, but he never looked like a big guy.
It is one thing to have a roster of guys with .600 and .700 OPS production. It is another when half the line up is in the .300s. I don't know if it is a collective slump or what, but this is literally as bad as it gets. Even bad MLB talent should get lucky more often than this

4 Fire Gertz
5 Goodbye Maldonado Lopez DeJong
6 Promote Colson and Colas
7 Goodbye Pillar and Grossman
You are now playing 3 more players short.

I don't get the love affair about having guys ready for the next good Sox team. No one knows when that will be. By you're argument if Eder is struggling in 1.5 years on a bad Sox team they should trade him for another injured prospect ?
It's fine you like Eder but he may not be good enough and if he is good enough there's no guarantee that the Sox will be a good team in his tenure with them. He'll be 30 in 5 years. When do you expect the Sox to be above .500 again ?
You know you can still be a bad team with plenty of good players on it. Look at the Angels with multiple years of having Ohtani and Trout. Those 2 are superstars and they had other good players but to be a good team you need 20 good players and depth behind those 20.
Your MLB team isn't going to get good any time soon trading 27 year old MLB talent for 24 year old injured minor league talent very often.
Run along.

A bit dramatic, right?

So when do we find out about the Pedro extension?

"But he won't be on the next Sox Championship team!!!!" LOL. I'm happy with two big upside pitchers and a raking CF prospect.
No, Luis Robert is literally at home raking his yard. There can be no other logical explanation.

The warning signs were there with the injury to the 2-3-4 guys looming. But yeah, this is ridiculous.
Even the guys who are here are historically bad. Like we knew they wouldn't be good, but guy are ducking way under even their own shitty career numbers which isn't easy to do for a lot of these guys.

Can we go back in time and trade Vaughn and a pitcher to the Dodgers for Michael Busch?
Bold of you to assume he would have a similar performance here.

I'll be honest....I knew it was going to be a rough season, but I didn't see a 2-14 start, with 4 losses to KC, being on the docket.
It was hard to underperform this teams offensive expectations, but here we are.

and then what? They have 3 wins instead of 2 and they trade him at the deadline for some 26 yr old in A ball?
If it doesn't make a difference why is he churning the roster like a shitty fantasy owner?

Why even bring them in at all? The thing I don’t get is why spend money on guys that have absolutely no potential trade value?
He's panicking. He has a plan, but as soon as he got hit in the mouth he started flailing for anything and everything. What he did over the winter made sense if he was trying not to rush people, but him releasing prospects to sign flotsam only to release them a week later is some OOTP crap. He really is acting like he isn't capable of doing this job.

They were only brought in to be shoved out. Why does it matter when it happens.
If it was 3 weeks, there was no point in bringing them in the 1st place.

Right. The worst team in baseball, but he is being dramatic. He's already shoving out guys he signed after only 3 weeks.
