  1. Carlos Lee in the Rookie League, who I believe is actually Carlos Lee's brother, (why do they do that? ) has caught a little bit this season. I just do not want to waste high draft pick on a catcher, almost 99% of the time they do not pan out. Toughest position to draft for.
  2. Nanita was born 6/12/81 if roster can be believed, with crackdowns we have had, I bet it is accurate.
  3. I do not ever want us taking a catcher with a high pick again. We have wasted too many over the years, as have most teams. Take some shots in top 10 rounds, but not too high. We signed two so far this year, 21st rounder from HS in Texas and a college guy from aroud the 35th round or so.
  4. Pitchers: Starters: Rauch, Honel, Wing, Cotts and Yofu, with Lamura and Allen deserving of some respect for having decent seasons so far. Haigwood cannot be on there, he is out for season I have heard. Relievers: Ring, Ginter (he has had a nice season), Meaux, and for LH and RH specialists for a couple hitters Munoz and Stumm.
  5. Well done Rex. I will take Lopez behind Yan at 2B. I will take Brice at 1B over Rogo. Bounds 2nd there. I just am not enthused over Rogo. Only C I am enthused about, tho he has not hit, is Lisk. No way Almonte is on this team, I was not even high on him coming into this season and all he has done is stink it up.
  6. Only comments I have seen about Nanita: Dominican OF Ricardo Nanita will need a visa to play pro ball in the U.S., possibly reducing his value. He's a center fielder who provides lefthanded pop and arm strength COMMENT: Strong body. Bat speed through zone, ball jumps off bat. Solid power to all fields, especially gaps. Runs better underway. Solid glove, good defensive actions. Arm strength with accuracy. Profiles in LF. Aggressive hitter. Swings well with wood. McCarthy is a big guy, about 6-7 I think our of Lamar JC in Colorado. That is about all I know about him other than he was as good as Haigwood and Rodriguez at low Rookie ball league last year.
  7. Yes, it was McCarthy's turn. 8. Guzman has a ERA in mid 2's if I recall after a real nice last start. Not getting many decisions, I think he is only 2-2.
  9. I think people think more of Rogowski that I do. I do not see him making it. He has one nice stretch there with 3 dingers within a week, and he did start fairly hot this season and has regressed more than progressed. Highly overrated and I do no know what he ever did to get rated high, other than Hawk mentioned him as a potential hitter one game.

I agree, I do not want Jimenez anywhere near SS, he just does not seem to be the leader type I want at SS. I really do not care having him at 2B anymore either, I do not think he is a top major league 2Bman, I wanted him to be and we gave him quite a chance, but I would rather he go elsewhere.

You are brilliant UNS, you are brilliant. :-)
  12. Hard to believe we could get him for less than a Million.
  13. Jase, Where did you hear we were only 500K apart with Veal, if that is all we should pay up.
  14. Yes that was Josh Stewart for Bristol. Nachreiner, 5th rounder, got pounded in his first start, Casey, HS pitcher from Texas fared better following Stewart.
  15. We have had 2 rookie league teams for a long time, Arizona and Bristol. Now they are both High Rookie league instead of one high and one low. Rex, Ryan Rodriquez started season on DL, shoot.
  16. Yes, only way Sweeney can be draft and follow is for him to go to JC and not to 4 year school. Agree with Chisoxfn, good draft, will be excellent if we sign Sweeney and 2-3 of the following 4. Veal, Brooks, Hodges and the good Moviel (the 15th rounder).

On its way Rex. Thanks Jason, should be good stuff.

Rex, you are thinking about his brother, the 15th rounder. He is the real good prospect. Let me know if you want an email, I have a file to attach to a note that has all the info on all 50 of our prospects from BA and other sources. Not a lot on everyone, but some good stuff. You can post at other site too if you like. This 36th rounder is not as good a prospect, but you never know.
  19. His numbers are good, not sure I would say downright sick, they are not that overpowering.
  20. John Hurd, RHP from College of Southern Utah (a JC). FOr movie buffs, we can name him Elephant Man.
  21. I just do not want him called up before he HAS to be on 40-man roster. That is one thing KW is not good at, handling the 40-man roster. We brought up Ginter a year before we had to put him on, thus we have to keep him next year or he leaves, could have used one more year out of him. Do not rush kids, I guess if he earns it fine, but not just to do it. If he was put on 40 man and hurt then we lose one whole year out of him we could have recouped with an option.
  22. I think Heath will be ok too. Just a feeling.
