  1. Nope, why go to more than one place for that info. I get it from BA first thing every morning. And out of USA Today online scores for same day scores or the teams website.
  2. Gload has kicked around the minors since 1997, we got him as a 6 year FA. Not many of them ever really make it, tho this guy has hit everywhere he has played. Career average of .358 in minors coming into this season. Too bad could not put Kong an DL and give this guy a shot, but there has to be something wrong. Harris, I am not high on Willie. But he was doing great in AAA and could not hit out of a paper bag in majors again this year. I just want him playing CF, not 2B, let DJ/Miles/Yan sort out 2B and keep Harris in CF.
  3. Brando, I do not believe Rauch ever threw harder than 92-93 and he is most likely not hitting that now, his K numbers are not there. He seems to be having better control. I would like to see Big Jon make it, but I have turned into one of the doubters, I think he caught lightning in a bottle for the one season. He may be ok for 4-5 man in rotation, but not a 1 or a 2 for sure.
  4. Nope Kystevie, they may be back up within a week. Many of us are on a spanish world crossing. Let me know if you want url for there, but Sailorgirl mentioned we may be back up and running within a week.
  5. Holt has a knack for striking out and not walking, he looked horrible in AA to start season, hitting ok back at High A. He will never pan out like what some want, not sure why KW wanted him, thought we were going to concentrate on players with good OBP numbers.
  6. Winston Salem won 10-6, and Kannapolos split twin bill losing 10-1 in one Rupe started and winning 6-3 behind Miller.

Mitchell opened the scoring for Chattanooga in the bottom of the second inning with his first homer of the year, a two-run shot. Caceres stroked an RBI double in the sixth inning and keyed a four-run rally in the fourth with a run-scoring single. Dernell Stenson finished 4-for-5 with an RBI and Guye Senjem collected three hits, including an RBI double for the Lookouts, who won their fourth consecutive game. Ryan Mottl (2-3) allowed an unearned run and four hits over seven innings to pick up the win. Scott Bikowski gave Birmingham a 1-0 first inning lead with a sacrifice fly and ripped an RBI single in the eighth for Birmingham, which lost its fourth straight. Heath Phillips (0-1) surrendered eight runs -- seven earned -- and 14 hits in six innings to take the loss for the Barons.

Borchard singled and scored in the bottom third inning and keyed a four-run rally in the fourth with a three-run shot. Scott Morgan laced a two-run triple, Jamie Burke hit a two-run homer and Ross Gload finished 4-for-5 with an RBI for Charlotte, which improved to 23-13 this year at Knight's Stadium. Jon Rauch (3-1) allowed a run and five hits, while striking out three and walking three, over six innings to pick up the win. Nate Rolison hit a solo shot in the second inning and has homered three times in his last 5 at-bats for Columbus, which has dropped two of its last three. Jorge De Paula (4-7) surrendered 11 runs, 12 hits and three walks over four innings to take the loss for the Clippers.
  9. Another things that scouts have to look into. Is the kid going to have trouble when he starts making money, is he going to get into drugs, is he going to drink like a fish, is he going to chase women all night long. Not saying those things are bad :-) but you hae to have priorities. Like the NBA, there are guys walking city streets with more talent than most in NBA, but could not handle the pressure/bureaucracy or whatever of college/pros and went back to the street.
  10. They say Mauer could end up better than Morneau, I hope not, cause Morneau looks like a 15 year .300 30+ homer and 120+ RBI guy at 1B for the Twins. Me, I doubt Mauer is better hitter than Morneau, but I have been amazed how well they say Mauer is doing on D. I thought that would be his weaker side. Reed has done very well, better than most predicted, many people thought we went for him way too early, someone did a good job for us there.
  11. He was looking at a win last night before that bad 9th inning.

  16. Brian Becker has been around, he has done will with us, we picked him up from the Independent Leagues, he will be 28 this season, so very old for High A ball. Mike Christensen is another pick up we made, he is playing for Kannapolis and hitting well with lots of clutch hits, but he too was a released player from Angels/Twins orgs and is 27, just wanted to post that with Beckers stats so no one gets too excited over either.
  17. Yes, he pitched well in high A ball last year, 2 great starts at Kannapolis have him ready for AA I would think.
  18. Nachreiner is very nice signing, near first rounder if not his knee problem (something genetic. so could be lasting problem, but I have confidence he will be ok). I agree with 3-4 you list as must signs and would like to add Hodges, the 13 rounder, tough kid with broken wrist who taught himself to hit opposite handed last season so he could play. To sign top 15 would be one of our better drafts.
  19. Guess we have our scout eh Rex
  20. Moviel went 15th round, we will be lucky to sign him, he was projected high, as were the 5th, 11th and 12th rounders. All HS pitchers. Sweeney will be tough, those 6 will be our toughest signings.
  21. Still arguing this point, hmmm.
  22. Someone posted Bannister came from KC Nope, he was signed as FA by us from Seattle, we traded him to KC for Greg Hibbard, Melido Perez, John Davis and Chuck Mount, all pitchers. We also threw in an infielder by the name of Cochrane.
  23. Michigan State for Miller for sure, not Michigan. Given Name: Dewey LaMarr Hoyt
