No games in minors 4/3 so will start this early.  Still AAA.  Looks like A, A+, AA start playing Thurs 4/6.  Depending on the assignments, I may have to check out Bham this year.  Think they could have a interesting group.  Looking at the rosters, I think they haven't been updated since Kath is still listed on AA.  Think that is from project Birmingham last year.

Since the minors, except AAA, do not start until Thurs, I think, the rosters likely will not be updated until Wednesday night would be my guess,

  2. Desert Dogs lost Monday in 1st game 5-3, some reliever from Dodgers gave up 5 in the 9th. Tatum played and contributed, Ramsey threw a scoreless 8th.

Desert Dogs won Tuesday 11-9. Tatum led off and went 2-5 with a run and RBI and a BB. Castillo played 2B and went 3-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, Hackenberg went 0-2 with 2 BB and 1 RBI. Sammy Peralta went 1.2 innings, gave up a solo homer among 4 hits and struck out 2.

    Solesky starts todays game

  3. Bennett with his 11th homer in a nice game for him in the 13-9 win for the DSL Sox

11 homers, an over .300 batting average and an OBP of over .400. Good season for the 20 year old Venezuelan

Kelley doesn't look terrible today. Still needs to throw more strikes. Some nice changeups. Announcer has him sitting around 96 with the 4 seamer.

Also it seems kind of nuts to me, but apparently he has yet to notch a single win in his minor league career.

Hard to get a win when he was on such a low pitch count. He went 4 innings and even 4+ innings and left with the lead a couple times. He could have at least a couple wins. Better to limit his innings though

How many active pitchers does Charlotte have??

A ton it seems. I know one time there were 20 active pitchers on their roster. They did release Glowicki and Carter in past couple weeks, but at least 4-6 more they could release without a whimper from anyone. Maybe more

Well by my count, yesterday was the first all winning minor league day of the year!  81 games in.  I understand that the primary goal is player development , but can't help but think that fosters individual stats sometimes over doing the little things that win games.  The very same little things many of our big leaguers have failed to do  repeatedly which cost us games.  Anyway, I am happy for the minors sweep!  Mena did great and think Kelley  had best start of his career.  Hopefully, Ellis and heck Neslony get bumped up soon.  They are older and should be given their chance as potential late developers.

I think we had a 6-0 day earlier this year not long after the DSL and ACL leagues started. I remember putting out a post on it.

He’s transitioned to the mound apparently. Just could never hit

Appears Edwin Peralta did the same for the DSL team. Played 1B mostly last year, got hit in relief today.

This may be a dumb question, but what does that mean exactly?

A player on Optional Assignment from an MLB Reserve List (40-man roster) can be placed onto the Development List of the minor league affiliate to which he has been optioned, but only with consent of the player.

A player cannot be placed on the Development List for the purpose of injury rehabilitation or disciplinary action.

A player can be placed on the Development List only during his minor league club's regular season, the player must remain on the Development List for at least seven days, and the player must be reinstated from the Developmental List no later than the day after the conclusion of his minor league club's season.

A player on the Development List counts against the in-season minor league 180-man Domestic Reserve List (or MLB 40-man roster if the player is on Optional Assignment), but he does not count against the minor league club's Active List roster.

A player is paid by the MLB club while he is on the Development List.
