Thought I saw a discussion on another prospect(Micker?) that had a lot of injury issues that we got a extra year.  Hoping here with two lost years he might qualify as he might be interesting.

Found this under Wikipedia. Not seeing any exemptions for full season injuries. Maybe someone else will have a better idea than I.

    Selection eligibility[edit]

Players are eligible for selection in the Rule 5 draft if they are not on their major league organization's 40-man roster and:

    • were 18 or younger on the June 5 preceding their signing and this is the fifth Rule 5 draft upcoming; or
    • were 19 or older on the June 5 preceding their signing and this is the fourth Rule 5 draft upcoming.

These exemption periods (one year longer than those in effect previously) went into effect as part of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement in October 2006. The change took effect immediately, exempting many players from the 2006 Rule 5 draft even though they had been signed in some cases more than four years before the new agreement came into effect. Prior to the rule change, players were exempt from the first two or three Rule 5 drafts held after their signing (regardless of the year they were drafted), rather than from the first three or four Rule 5 drafts after their signing.

  2. Pretty sure those injury seasons still count towards Rule V time. Guessing we have to protect him or he would be available to that draft. I could be wrong.

Tyler Johnson 2 IP, 3 Ks. Still my favorite reliever in our system. Hopefully the injuries are behind him.

Yep, he and Heuer have been real good at AA of late. Lindberg is another, if he is healthy he could be a stud. He has been lights out the past couple weeks.

Three players in the DSL lineup have a higher BA than Bailey's .342!  I know small samples, age(actually only one is old for league), one stat, but I sure like having more good looking results than a team of guys hitting .220.

Agreed, last year no one could hit, exept Rodriguez, Laureano at .220 or .230 was about our best hitter. Todays lineup had all players over .250 except for Tatis, who was under .200.

Kodi Medieros looks to have been moved to pen.  Had been terrible starting/swing role.  Putting together a nice string since.  Still just 23 years old.

Been quite a while since he has started. He has been lights out in the pen, ERA under 2.00 I believe. This was discussed in a thread somewhere and someone had those stats.

Yeah, this should be illegal to have two SS named sanchez.

Would be nice to have first initial with their last name. I have gotten used to knowing by looking at averages, but sometimes I have to click on the name to make sure.

    Yogurt: 2/5 with a triple
    Bailey: 2/5 with a double
Tatis even got in on the action with a 2/3 day with a walk.

That was not Yogurt playing today, that was Wilber I believe.

Well he's 16, wasn't trying to imply it was injury related. He has increased innings from 3 IP in a start to 5 IP recently but I wasn't sure if a 16 year old would go the full year because frankly we have not had any in DSL that were worth checking in on.

Ah, I got it now. He is doing fine today. I think this is his 9th start of the season, so they may slow him down.

Hopefully,  Dylan Cease isn't English for Javier Vasquez,  the master of the one bad inning.

Melido Perez was also like that. One bad inning, usually early.

How has Yolbert's bat looked in the DSL so far? He is like 4/5 years older than the competition so one would think he should be dominating.

He was 1-5 today, but it was game winning hit in the 8th. 2-14 now, so .143. Not so great, but early.
