  1. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) That would be an insane downgrade in our offensive productivity. I believe our pitching will improve with McCarthy, but not to the point where we can replace Thome with Ryan freaking Sweeney. i wish we had frank thomas for this year and the future... just imagine him hitting his 500th in sox uni... KW is dumb
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) I've been skepticle of our playoff chances for several weeks. It's been apparent to anyone closing monitoring this team they're too inconsistent as a unit to sustain a winning streak. When the days began winding down, our problems were still obvious on the field (and Guillens head), it became obvious this team wasn't going anywhere in October. Of the suggestions you noted, the one I'd object to -- because it's unlikely -- is trading Thome. Who can we expect to replace his production? Sweeney to RF, Dye as the DH QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) The season's not over. Do I think we'll make the playoffs? no. But we are only 2 behind Minny and 4 behind Detroit with three games against each. We will probably be at home in October, but I'm not giving up yet. We're 2.5 and 4.5 back of Twins and Tigers repectively...
  3. its time to look forward to next year. 1st. get rid of the entire bulpen except for jenks, thornton, and macdogal. 2nd. get rid of thome, mackowiak, uribe, and podsenik. 3rd. get rid of garcia and insert mccarthy in the rotation. (i know garcia pitched great last time out)
  4. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) where are the wins if we've been pitching so good The consisten blow jobs (pun intended) by the bullpen and the inconsistent hitting.
  5. Make that 3.10 ERA in the Last 20 games...WOW
  6. would it be kinda like the grady sizemore deal where we can lock him up for 6 more years at 30 million dollars b/c hes not a FA yet?
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 01:37 AM) So there is no reason for the White Sox not to counter offer Ross Gload for Crisp. i wouldn't even trade gload for crisp.
  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) Where'd you hear this rumor? Scroll down: http://www.mlb-trade-rumors.com/rumors.htm
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:11 AM) Any discussion involving BMac is moot. Not even if it's Peavy? I think we need a top of the line starter, Peavy is just that!
  10. I heard rumor about the Red Sox geting Jake Peavy and Scott Linebrink for only Willi Mo Pena Juilan Tavarez and Cash in a 3 team deal ( Scroll down: http://www.mlb-trade-rumors.com/rumors.htm ). So I was wondering why not we offer the Padres B-McC and Fields for those 2? I think that is a LOT better htan what the Red Sox offeredt them. Thoughts?
  11. he [podsednick] is becoming a liability on the field and isn't producing the way they expected the table setter to ----------------------------------- are you kidding me? podz is actually having a better year at this time then he did last year (except for the SB).. he has more HR, more RBIs, about the saem BA, and better OBP.
  12. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) I believe its something like 9-11 when Widger gets 2 or more ABs... damn thats pretty bad. i wonder what the ERA is of the staff. where did you get these stats btw?
  13. I'd be interested in this little stat, b/c i also think widger was the problem. The last two games were started by AJ and we did pretty good. I think most of the time when Widger started, our pitchers got hit hard. So if anybody can find this little pieace of info, i'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
