  1. This is a civil case, so nothing is really affected except the bank accounts of the parties and lawyers involved.

Eloy and Moncada homering in the same game......I could get used to that.

Yoan "Moonshot" Moncada. Nearly every time he homers it's majestic.
  4. It's also a civil case, which changes things. The allegations are pretty fucked up. I'm more willing to believe he's a whackjob now.

    RALLY ENGEL!!!!!
  8. I was wrong, Brown is a whackjob. We'll have to let the legal process play itself out, but I don't think he ever sees an NFL field again.

Anderson's 2019 season is going to do wonders for his OBP moving forward.

There aren't a lot of decent RF in the market. Upgrade other spots. This is assuming that you sign JD Martinez for DH and Abreu for 1B on a 1-year deal. If they can pull off Mazara on the cheap or Nimmo without giving up Madrigal, by all means I'd rather do that. More upside there. I'm in the camp of Mazara for lotto tickets at this point. Other options are cost prohibitive without the upside.

I know people hate the idea of Kole Calhoun in RF, but he's been worth 1.7 fWAR and that's still a huge upgrade from the flaming pile of horseshit the Sox have in RF now, and he has hit 28 HR from the left side. Calhoun is what we hope Collins becomes. If he's super cheap, why not? He's slashed .230/.326/.784 this year.

Castellanos and JD Martinez are DH only. Castellanos is an option at 1B. If they want to sign both, I have no problems and they can let Abreu go and trade Vaughn for an MLB ready RF with lots of control.

    White Sox final win total

Thoughts: 4-2 vs Royals/sailors 1-2 vs Twins 2-1 vs Indians 5-2 vs Tigers 12-7 75 wins. There is an outside chance at 77 if they pick up an extra two against DET, SEA, KC.

    Machado do-over

I agree, but I think they might pull the trigger if it doesn't progress far enough quickly enough going forward. If it gets through 2021 with no playoffs I think Hahn gets whacked.

    Machado do-over

This regime has been in place, in 2 different forms, since 2002. It's been Rick Hahn, Kenny Williams, and Jerry Reinsdorf making decisions, regardless of job title, for that amount of time. The job titles have changed, but it's still the same braintrust. It's time for a new vision, and it's time for JR to take his hands out of the cookie jar.

Micker Adolfo. I think that one has completely scared JR off. He's going to continue to tap the Cuban pipeline.

Think about the George Carlin rule of stupid people. There are enough of them out there. (I know it doesn't work like that, it's a bell curve in reality)

    Machado do-over

If they sign 2 SP and they all stay healthy, they don't have room for Kopech unless they go to a 6 man rotation, or one pitcher sucks badly enough to have to be replaced. I believe in Giolito, Cease, and Lopez. Adding Kopech to the mix only leaves room for one. If they sign 2 SP, one is going to be of the Nova caliber.

I have autism. It's how my brain works. My thought processes are very polarized. Instead of attacking me, help me understand gray areas better. Thanks. Just a PSA. They're not absolutes for the most part, they're probabilities. There are always outliers.

    Machado do-over

If the Sox get Robert, Madrigal and competence in their corner OF/DH spots, they might be able to win 85 games next year, but that is optimistic due to Hahn basically saying that Kopech is starting at AAA to get the year of service they lost back, if you can read between the lines. So don't count on Kopech being in the rotation until after the 2020 MLB Draft.

I usually wouldn't quote Hawk for baseball knowledge, but this one is true: "Don't tell me who you play, tell me when you play them" The Sox caught the Yankees at a vulnerable time, and only had to face Cole or Verlander once vs. the Astros. The Sox were done with the Yankees by Memorial Day.

    Machado do-over

Yeah, but similar to the Bears last year, the Sox look closer than they actually are because of the schedule they play. The Sox beat up on the Royals, Tigers and a punchless Indians offense in the early part of the season. Their record from June 1 forward is more indicative of their talent level. They've been on a 66 win pace since June 1.
