  1. Greg, it doesn't matter. Nothing is going to change until there is new ownership. We have to bide our time. Consider 2019 1999 on the Blackhawks timeline. We have nearly a decade before things are going to change. Hopefully we get a new owner, a nice new stadium, and an actual organizational commitment to winning in a decade or so. The 2020s are going to suck for the Sox. I hope you're not over 65, because if you are you may have seen the last winning team in your lifetime. We're about to go on a Pirates style losing streak so hunker down and weather the storm. We're in year 7 of 22 of Hurricane Gerald.
  2. It's getting to the point where you have to wonder if the Sox are worse than the Orioles.
  3. Anyone want to get together and commit baseball Seppuku?
  4. I don't think it is a coincidence that each player that gets traded to the Sox gets worse wearing the uniform, and each player that gets traded away gets better upon donning a different uniform. They're at least a decade behind the rest of baseball in every aspect of baseball operations.
  5. We're resigned to our fate until there is new ownership. We all love this team, we have to hope that there is some talent here when new ownership takes over. This was a bad series. I'm not ready to give up on some of these guys yet but it is going to be frustrating to see some of these guys go win championships elsewhere. I don't know what to make of Moncada and Eloy right now. Moncada has much more of a track record than Eloy, so who knows. Out of the pitchers on the staff, the only guy I have hope for oddly enough is Giolito. This is, best case scenario, going to end up right back where we started with a stars/scrubs roster, 78 wins and another complete rebuild.
  6. I know. This is a sad state of affairs. I wonder if the Chicago White Sox will survive this whole ordeal.
  7. What's the point anymore? Maybe if they get zero MLB players out of all of their trades and 1st rounders that would be enough to get Hahn whacked and Kenny a nominal title. It's a long season, and this is probably an overreaction, but if everyone continues to go south I'm just going to start hoping for a disaster of epic proportions and breaking the 1962 Mets record for losses. Maybe that will get Uncle Jerry off of his high horse.
  8. I'm legitimately beginning to wonder if they're going to get a single above average MLB player out of this whole lot. Something is just broken here.
  9. I doubt they're going to play. Freezing rain is coming down in Kane County.
  10. The negativity is because they're going to have to trade away prospects to supplement the roster rather than just spend money because Uncle Jerry was too cheap to sign Harper or Machado. The other options quickly disappeared.
  11. This post is accurate. I repeat: We're in a Dollar Bill Wirtz situation here. There is no change until ownership changes. Don't expect wins, and you won't be disappointed.
  12. "They're just on a hot streak. They'll suck soon enough."
  13. Yes. The answer is yes. WBWSF, you'd get hired by the Sox to be GM and then when Uncle Jerry gives you the rules you have to operate by you'd resign immediately.
  14. This organization is a decade behind the rest of baseball in terms of scouting and analytics
  15. Someone who actually incorporates modern pitching philosophies and methods into attacking hitters.
  16. I said "minor feeling" which was intended to infer there was an outside chance that Kenny is making the decisions. The problem, again, is the organizational structure that is intended to make it impossible to point the finger at either Hahn or KW. The fanbase doesn't know who is actually making baseball decisions, and that is the point.
  17. Twins version or Mets version? Huge difference.
  18. I didn't say that. I said it wasn't outside the realms of possibility.
  19. No, I'm not. The issue is the intentional organizational structure that makes it nearly impossible to point the finger at someone. I choose to point the finger at both. There are some deals that have Kenny's fingerprints on them. I believe Tatis/Shields is one of them. Most of this is on Hahn but there are a few that are on KW. I think the Sale deal was Kenny. Eaton and Quintana were Hahn.
  20. Kenny isn't evil incarnate. I know why he has a job. Fine. Keep him the fuck away from baseball ops.
  21. It seems Moncada is now going to get a steady diet of breaking balls.
