  1. I wanna see 95-97 mph from Lopez today. Would make me feel much better about him.
  2. I 100% agree but they didn't get Machado, and there is no use b****ing about it anymore. I'm done talking about Machado/Harper. They play elsewhere and will for the foreseeable future. They have enough that Machado was a luxury, not a necessity. They're still loaded. The big thing that has changed this season is that Giolito and Lopez becoming rotation mainstays has gone from a luxury to a necessity.
  3. OK luck, sure, if enough things break right with young player development(mainly Giolito/Lopez/Eloy/Moncada all break out and become good to great this year) 82-88 wins isn't out of the question.
  4. 83 wins might be enough this season. They blew game 1 vs. Cleveland BTW. They never led in either of the 1st two games.
  5. If Colome and Herrera are solid, and Fry/Ruiz emerge as solid bullpen pieces, you can squint and see a contender. This whole division is down right now. They should jump on it.
  6. Alonso is down because he sucks vs. LHP, but Palka sucks worse vs. LHP so that is why Alonso is in the lineup.
  7. Renteria is.........Idk how to describe it these days but if "moron" is still acceptable I'd use that. He doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. Anyway, if this guy is the real Moncada, he's a lock for 5+WAR annually going forward. Would not shock me if both Moncada and Robert become perrenial 6+ WAR players, in fact I think it is likely. IMO both Moncada and Robert will be better than Eloy in terms of WAR, because Eloy has limited defensive value. Those 3 are going to pulverize baseballs.
  8. Truth. On the other hand, it would be glorious if the Brewers sweep the Cubs this weekend and they're 8 games out of first place by their home opener.
  9. Boston's pitching staff implosion is reminding me of the 2006 White Sox. Everyone's arm fell off that season. Freddy and Jose Contreras were never the same.
  10. I actually agree with you here. He thinks that 90% of baseball players use roids regularly. @TaylorStSox What size tin foil hat do you wear?
  11. I'd have to think that should they perform, Adolfo and Basabe are going to be the first to go.
  12. Maybe certain people are just freaks of nature? Are they not allowed to exist?
  13. You think everyone is juicing. I can't take you seriously in this regard. While you may be right, that is an extremely skeptical viewpoint that even though I don't necessarily think you're wrong, I think that they'd all eventually get caught. Masking indefinitely runs into issues, one slip up and you're busted.
  14. Moncada could be damn near Trout levels. I don't think either Moncada or Robert will hit .340 in a season but for Moncada his ceiling is as close to Trout as you can get. I could see Robert hitting 50+ HR one day, while I think Moncada would top out in the 40-45 range.
  15. I agree with this. Robert might not be as good of a hitter and won't have as good of an eye, but he has massive power to make up for it. The only difference in their skilsets is that, otherwise they're pretty similar.
  16. For Moncada and Robert, absolutely they both have that ceiling. Both could do 40/40 easily. They might be the most talented pair of young players on any team in baseball. They both have the talent to be generational players. It is up to them to prove it. If they have a manager than lets them run, I don't doubt that should both Moncada and Robert hit at the MLB level they'll both put up at least 1 40-40 season.
  17. Yeah, I did. His ceiling is Trout, but his most likely outcome is Soriano. It all depends on how good of a hitter he becomes. Both Robert and Moncada have best player in baseball ceilings. They both ooze talent out of every orifice of their bodies. Ceiling =/= most likely outcome. It is mildly annoying that Renteria won't let Moncada steal bags.
  18. Though I think there is a chance Robert could be a great hitter, I think his most likely outcome might be Alfonso Soriano's best years.
  19. It will be interesting to see Collins at the plate this year in Charlotte, which is a noted bandbox. Maybe the park at Birmingham suppressed his numbers.
  20. Nobody knows because of his injuries. He doesn't have the body of work that Eloy does.
  21. I think Moncada and Robert are kind even based on position, but Robert has a chance to be a 40-50 HR guy and Moncada might have a couple seasons in the 40 range. Robert has stupid power.
  22. Robert is going to skyrocket up prospect lists this year. He has a real chance to be every bit of the hitter Eloy is with average to plus defense in CF. If he stays healthy it wouldn't surprise me if he's top 5 or even #1 by the postseason list. Robert actually is a 5 tool talent.
