  1. Joe West gives him a run for his money.
  2. It might sound crazy, but if he's allowed to run he has a chance to put up Mike Trout numbers. He has best hitter/player in baseball ability.
  3. Moncada looks locked in. I think he's going to have a huge year.
  4. Last year he could still hit 96-98 mph late in games. It doesn't seem he's anywhere close to that this year.
  5. Shoulder surgery does that to a pitcher.
  6. He has a slider and a slurve. Always has. The slider is in the 85-87 mph range and the slurve is 80-82. When he first came up they both were harder.
  7. Yeah, this D is horrid to say the least.
  8. If Hawk were announcing, he'd have said "that ball was kilt"
  9. WTF is Palka doing back in RF??? Angel Hernandez behind HP. Greeeaaaat.
  10. I was just coming here to post that. Something is wrong with Sale. I've been watching on the Sawx feed on MLB.TV. If the Sawx knew that his velocity was this down in Spring Training I have no idea why they signed him to that contract, other than justification for trading the guys they traded to the Sox.
  11. He also was a 1st round pick and got a $7M signing bonus before slotting. It's not stupid money but it's still a lot.
  12. Moncada signed a $31.5M contract with the Red Sox. He has his money. Moncada is one guy that might be hard to keep around. Same with Robert, who has $26M in the bank already as well, should he become everything we hope. Out of the guys that might want security, Eloy and Lopez are the guys. Giolito's family is already wealthy, and Moncada has his money banked.
  13. Are you Jerry Callo? (hope you get the reference)
  14. I wouldn't call Boston and New York warm...Though Torres didn't get called up until June.
  15. Yup. I remember how he messed everything up in Boston by signing Crawford, Gonzalez and others. Those guys are incredibly lucky they got bailed out of those contracts by the Dodgers. If LA wasn't stupid they never win in 2013 and probably don't last year either.
  16. Something that would make the 2019 baseball easier to stomach is a complete implosion by the Cubs, that results in them cleaning house. It would be high comedy. Theo is fucking up, and it is simultaneously hilarious and wonderful. Couldn't happen to a better fanbase, lol. Eloy settling down and winning ROY would be great to stick it up their asses.
  17. Yup. This seems to be the expectation. 2018: blah blah Moncada is a bust blah blah blah 2019: blah blah Eloy is a bust blah blah blah Sometimes it doesn't click for players right away. The history of baseball is littered with HOF players who struggled until age 25-26.
  18. Really? I thought he went 2-4 each of his first 3 games. Also I realized I messed up on my first post, please re-quote after my edit.
  19. It is ridiculous. All we can do is blame players like Soto, Acuna, Benintendi, Torres, etc, who came up and lit the world on fire immediately. Tatis is doing it already this season. I guess the gripe is that all other team's top prospects are MLB ready, and it is only the Sox guys who are initially struggling, where the rest of the league's top prospects aren't going through the classic growing pains.
