Something I want everyone to know.

So for the last couple months I feel like I've done a lot of damage to my reputation as a poster. I've put a lot of things out there that I wish I didn't, and it took me until this weekend to realize what was going on. I'm pretty messed up right now. Not only am I dealing with being on the autistic spectrum, I've been dealing with chronic pain for the better part of 20 years. About two years ago, it started to get really bad and it got so bad by the end of 2018 that I couldn't do anything anymore other than sit at home. I tried to fight through it as much as I could but it just kept getting worse. In April, I decided to have surgery to hopefully correct my issues. I've been dealing with the after effects of it(Physical therapy and another surgery) for the better part of the last 6 months. I'm not handling it well. I haven't been able to do much of anything for 6 months. Even so, the PT isn't far enough along that I can work or go do things I enjoy yet. Please forgive me for being an uber grouch for the last 3 months or so because I'm pretty pissed off about how long this is taking and the rate of progress. I'm going to try not to post angry anymore and sit on them for 30 mins before submitting. I'm a lot more testy and assholish than normal right now. I have just started to realize I've been posting angry way too much. Please be kind. Cheers, Parkman.
  2. Josh Allen had a meh day against the Dolphins. They're the only team that could make him look semi-competent. A lot of young QBs are getting exposed recently, especially Goff and Wentz. Neither are anywhere close to the Franchise QBs that they're cracked up to be. Even Mahomes and Watson aren't as good as they were in 2018.
  3. For shits and giggles let's assume the Bears finish 7-9 this year. The Bears will have been 21-41 in Pace's other 4 seasons besides last year, and 33-45 overall(5 seasons) That's worthy of a firing. His two chosen QBs(supposedly) were Trubisky and Mariota. That's worthy of a firing. There is no reason to handcuff the new GM with Nagy, so let the new guy pick his own coach.
  4. No this is a real thought. I've been thinking about this one since the game ended. It's still valid. Not an overreaction. This was Marc Trestman level bullshit today.

    Official 2018-2019 NHL thread

I think if the Hawks continued to play Zone on D vs. the Man to Man version they're doing now, things would be fine. The fact that Bowman thought that this would be a good idea is baffling.
  6. So is everyone willing to admit that Trubisky sucks, the defense is overrated and Pace and Nagy should be whacked in January yet?
  7. I hope you're wrong. Truly.

    A Realistic Offseason

Palka should have never seen RF in a million years, you can't rule out that they have no clue how to evaluate OF defense.

    2nd Generation Rebuild

If you're going to sign top talent in FA, you can think about that. You can't really trade Moncada though because he's the only LH bat in the lineup. I do think they should consider it if Moncada is intent on testing the open market. I'd keep him one more year and if he still isn't willing to sign a long term deal, you think about it then. Same with Giolito. If they're not careful, they're going to kill their window before it even opens.

Anderson, and the RF is still unknown.

    A Realistic Offseason

Why? The last thing you want is a contact pitcher with the Sox shitty defense.

If Bumgarner wasn't the chief of the fun police, I'd think he makes a lot of sense. I'd stay far away from Keuchel.

Yankees AND Dodgers both going strong into FA

The whole thing I'm doing(again) is managing my expectations. Do I hope they can pull off top tier FA? Always. Do I expect them to actually do it? No. I'd argue that anyone who expects it is going to be disappointed, where those who don't would be ecstatic if they pulled it off. It is a protective shell. If you never expect anything, then when you get something it's a pleasant surprise.

Yankees AND Dodgers both going strong into FA

And I'm going to be skeptical until shown otherwise. I think the Sox have a comfort zone with player contracts and they proved last year that they're not willing to step outside it, even if it means losing the player. I don't think that Robert was as risky as Abreu tbh but JR has always been ok with guys from Cuba for some odd reason. I'm going into this offseason with zero expectations again, and hopefully they prove me wrong. @Chicago White Sox You have to realize that there are a lot of Sox fans that are classically conditioned to expect the worst. It's just a part of the fanbase's psyche. If you don't accept that, you probably don't want to continue posting here.

Yankees AND Dodgers both going strong into FA

Preparing for the pitching adds to be Odorizzi and Wood, and the offense adds to be Gregory Polanco and Justin Smoak. There's going to be too much competition this winter to expect anyone else.

When people say the Sox deserve no credit for trading stars....

My god raid Tampa and Oakland's FO. The Sox should operate mostly like them but with occasional 150M payrolls during championship windows.

    A Realistic Offseason

I'd rather have JDM, give Collins a year at 1B and let Abreu walk tbh. They should bring in someone as backup in case Collins sucks.

    Will Strasburg opt out? thread

If he opts out, Give me Strasburg. Let everyone else waste their time on Gerrit Cole.
  20. This explains a lot about the 2000-2010 White Sox. It seems Reinsdorf is only interested in winning if it happens by accident. His goal is to build a 2nd place team. This makes too much sense for it not to be true. TIFWIW.

    Will Strasburg opt out? thread

Scott Boras is going to run this offseason. The following free agents are all Boras clients: Cole Strasburg Ryu Martinez Ozuna And i'm pretty sure he has others free this year as well. Don't expect anything to happen until 1/15 at the earliest. Boras clients will set the market at almost every position, and especially SP.

    Will Strasburg opt out? thread

Yeah, because they really need that TOR arm to take pressure off of Giolito and Kopech. It also invigorates the fanbase and proves that they aren't half-assing the rebuild. After the Samson comments this offseason is really important. They absolutely have to land a bigger name this winter. The Sox have 3 holes on their roster and this fills one of them. They really only need to spend a lotbfor a TOR starter and a RF. They can be smart about DH.

    Will Strasburg opt out? thread

That's about as high as it's going to go.

    Will Strasburg opt out? thread

If it costs 5/155 to get Strasburg you do it and don't think twice. If he really wants to stay in Washington or go to California you really can't do anything about that.
