Jesus H. Christ dude, lighten up. My comment was in response to your comment that you don't like laughing at anyone's failure.

Wtf dude? When I made the fun bad comment it was a generality, not directed at anyone or anything. I don't think that Cease is fun bad at anything. I do think it's funny when pitchers don't know where anything is going. The Rick Vaughn comment was intentional hyperbole to try to get you to lighten up. I hope for your own sake that you're 25 years old or something. Life is a joke. Laugh more, worry less. Ambition and success aren't everything in life. I thought so in my mid 20s, but then I grew up. That worldview is incredibly counterproductive.

His command is right now. He's Rick Vaughn out there atm. Sure he's important. He's gotta learn though.

Not laughing at him directly. Have you ever heard of "fun bad?" When a team or player is so bad at something that it is funny?

I choose to find entertainment in a comedy of errors when my team is bad.

You're taking life way too seriously dude. I used to be like that, it just makes for a miserable existence. Life is about failure, learning from it, improving, and laughing about how dumb and naive you were. If you can't laugh at yourself, what can you laugh at?

Very true, but nobody since the rebuild started.

I wish that a pitcher would come up from the minors and just deal or a hitter would come up and rake. Just one guy plz. These adjustment periods are getting annoying. How come other fans get to have these nice things?

You're wrong. Command has always been an issue for Cease.

Moncada's walking a lot more lately. My god he's going to be a monster as a finished product.

    2019 Trade Deadline Predictions

I just don't see where Abreu fits between Vaughn, Collins and Reed, not to mention that Eloy might need to be given a 1B mitt. They have a metric shit ton of 1B/DH profile hitters. That alone might push Abreu out sooner rather than later. Unless Abreu is willing to take a cheap deal (10M or less) to stick around I don't see how or why he fits in. I get that the Cuban guys are tight, but.....You're blocking 2 T10 picks with him right now. You have to see what you have in Collins sooner or later.

    2019 Trade Deadline Predictions

Does anyone else think that the AJ Reed pickup might be telegraphing that despite what they say in the media, Abreu isn't coming back in 2020?

    Is Giolito an ace?

One thing I noticed about Giolito is that when he is amped up(adrenaline spike) in so called "Big Games" he loses his release point a bit. He needs to be more relaxed to have his command like it was last night.

Gerrit Cole - The Rebuild’s Fulcrum

Strasburg would be at least 50M cheaper and you could probably get him on a 5 year deal. Yes please.

Gerrit Cole - The Rebuild’s Fulcrum

I'm not sure I want to sign Cole for his price tag. I wonder how much of his success is due to the Astros pitching lab and how much is him. He was pretty mediocre his last couple seasons with the Pirates.

    Is Giolito an ace?

You haven't been a fan of either team in town long enough if this doesn't creep into your head every now and then. Chicago Baseball fans are classically conditioned to expect that when things are starting to look really good, disaster is right around the corner. It isn't just Sox fans, north siders have this problem too. It's a city wide affliction. For 88 years this franchise was nothing but a giant tease.

    Is Giolito an ace?

This is the answer. Nice post. We'd all like to jump the gun a bit because Moncada, Giolito and Eloy were once top 5 prospects in baseball. We want to actually believe that this is who they are as much as the lack of track record says to be patient. Like Tony said, we won't know for sure until this time next year.

    Is Giolito an ace?

To be fair, until someone has built up a bit of a track record of success, any slump could potentially be "coming back to earth" it's hard when this is these guys first taste of success to know what is and isn't real.

Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. Nice win.

Doesn't Colome have a changeup? Why hasn't he used it this year?

I've never seen Avi with this kind of plate discipline.

There is a reason he stole 40 bags at each level of the minors except AAA.

Ya know, he should steal bases.
