Cancel Spring Training 🙂…don’t wish injuries on anyone and hopefully he is okay but if one team can overcome/absorb injuries it’s Steve Cohen and the Mets so I don’t feel too bad
If not the Sox, I want the Mets to win 3 titles in a row just so cheap ownership across MLB has no excuses anymore.
Cohen and the SD ownership have it right.
You play to win the game. You don't play to just play it. /hermedwards

Remember the last time?
What? last year?

I like what I'm seeing this spring. It's ST and it means nothing, but I'm getting a bit more optimistic than I was a week or so ago.

Guys, if DJ Moore had 1st/2nd round value he would have been traded at the deadline with mccaffrey
No because he's on a sweetheart deal. They traded him because they had to to get the deal done.

So what, he’s good not great
What? The same guy that had 1100+ yds 3 years in a row with s%*# qbs?

I'm not sure what holes there are to still nitpick with ReyLo at this point. He's been nails for 2 years and has looked awesome this spring.
ReyLo doesn't miss enough bats for me.

I don't trust anyone in the Sox pen with the 9th. If GC was healthy he'd be the guy I'm most comfortable with.

I will be in charge of the Gio hot takes.
He actually looked good today. Was missing bats. Would like to see some velo readings.

Robert 0 for 3, 3 Ks vs NED, looks ready!
Moncada 0-2, BB.

Byron Buxton, the guy that’s played more than 92 games 1 time in 8 seasons. I bet Parkman has him penciled in for 162 tho.
Has Robert ever played 100 games?

I'm not all that optimistic about the Sox, but how can you say the Twins lineup is superior without, you know, overrating the crap out of the Twins hitters?
If we get the same baseball as last year, Eloy and Robert are the only Sox hitters capable of 20+ HR. Maybe Grandal if he stays healthy.
Twins have a way more powerful lineup. Even with all of the crap, the Sox still hit for average last year. It didn't matter much.

I’m not sure how anyone can look at the two rosters side by side and think the Twins are better.

The Twins lineup is superior and the they also have way more depth on the pitching side, even if the Sox have higher end pitchers at the top of the rotation.
The Sox are, at best, a 3rd place team in the ALC and depending on what KC does they could even be 4th. The only team the Sox are definitively better than is Detroit.
There's a reason why even with bounceback seasons from Sox players, Zips has the Sox at 74 wins.

The most annoying part of this is the value in this contract was that if Clevinger returns to pre-surgery form, next year's option would be a huge value. With all the drama, Sox might just move on regardless if Clevinger pitches great. So an exoneration would be nice for this Jerry Reinsdorf-owned-franchise but he probably did something close to what is being alleged regardless of how the MLB's investigation plays out.
I think it's a mutual option, so it's really a 1-year deal that has $4M deferred to next season.
If Clevinger performs well, he's hitting the market again anyway. If he doesn't, the Sox decline the option.
Anyway, I think I heard somewhere that Jesse Rogers said that Clevinger isn't getting suspended and that it should be announced before the end of ST.

You mean you don't like un-athletic 1B with "meh" power and no real stand out tools?
I was listening to the Sox Machine podcast and Vaughn is not an MLB hitter against right handed sliders.
He was something like 3rd from last against sliders from RHP in all of baseball in 2022.
I don't remember which metric they used, I tried to look it up and couldn't find it.

You’re crazy.
I've soured on Vaughn. Don’t think he can hit RHP.
Terrible against RH sliders
