  1. I'm sure its been brought so I apologize, but what is the Bulls cap situation the next few years? They can't free up max money for a Hayward or Gallinari right? Just for pure entertainment reasons, do the Bulls have cap for Gallinari or Gordon. Gallinari in particular would make this a pretty exciting team.
  2. Cards look like they could use a 3rd baseman and some bullpen help as well. Does Avi and Frazier or one of the bullpen arms get you Kelly? I know Collins has gotten solid reviews about his catching, but I'm still not so sure he ends up there so grabbing Kelly would be huge.
  3. Omega vs Okada might be the best match ever and in not sure if I'm just being an IWC smark or not. Seriously. If you have an hour to kill, watch it. WWE needs Omega.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 27, 2017 -> 08:41 PM) Fantasize about 2018-19 free agent class, Shohei Otani, Victor Mesa, etc. Assuming Mesa comes out, can the Sox even go after him?? Would it simply be another case where they would have to pay double, or is he past an age cutoff where he would simply be a free agent like Abreu?
  5. Whoops apparently there are more than one Kiebooms in their system.
  6. What am I missing about Kieboom? He's a 26 year old that is hitting .170 in AA and last year he had an OPS under .700 as a 25 year old in AA. Is he some elite defensive catcher? Or do people just like his name? Looks like a non prospect to me.
  7. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 21, 2017 -> 07:03 PM) I'm thrilled that Avi is off to a hot start. However, he's not really doing ANYTHING differently. He's still swinging at the same insane amount of pitches out of the zone (RIGHT on line with his career number), he's just made more contact with those pitches. As a result, his strikeout rate is down a couple notches, but so is his walk rate. Now, I'm not saying more contact might not be a good thing. The best possible explanation is that he's cut down his swing to focus more on contact and allowed his natural strength to carry the ball. I hope that's it. But when you break down his peripherals and see nothing changed but the contact rate and then see that he's still somehow running a .409 BABIP, it looks very dangerous. The HR/FB rate is up too, but do we have any evidence of swing changes to suggest that it's sustainable? Asking for real. It doesn't LOOK different to me, but it might be. I'm still not sold. I know, I know, I'm always the Avi hater. But by all indications, this LOOKS like a nice long hot streak that may have been inevitable given enough PAs to such an athletically gifted player. As always, I hope I'm wrong. He's hitting fastballs for one. I honestly don't know how the stat is quantified or if its even worth looking at, but when looking at wFB Pitch Value there is a world of difference. Avi never had a positive rating in that category, this year he 7th in the league. One of the critiques has always been he can't catch up with the fastball, and thus far it appears that has changed.
  8. Unpopular opinion time.....Bobby Roode bores me as a wrestler. He plays his gimmick really well though.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ May 13, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) Honest Q, are the Bullet Club all ever on one show together? Or are they just scattered? Agree about staleness. They have guys that are talented but nobody that would intimidate me like an alliance should, if that makes sense. /Insert Justin eyeroll Did Adam Cole sign with E? Is Omega under NJPW contract where he can't work ROH show? They do New Japan shows together, but when it comes to outside companies, they're just all kinda scattered. Yeah, I would expect Cole to probably be sitting in the crowd at the Chicago show ala what they did with Mcyntire and Roode in the past.
  10. Bullet Club has gotten kinda stale, but this was awesome. Really wish Omega would come over, but I'll take me some Adam Cole baby.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 5, 2017 -> 08:16 AM) Jays interviews during preseason are so much different than his post game press conferences. I think you will be surprised Agreed, he was always a pretty good listen on The Jay Cutler show as well.
  12. Bears signed Jaye Howard to a 1 year deal. Really like all I've read about him. Before he got hurt last year, PFF pegged him with the 2nd highest grade against the run among 3-4 DEs. Should be a really solid front 7 if guys stay healthy. If a few guys in the secondary step up(and there are quite a few guys there), the defense could be pretty solid. Also, Kipper has his way too early mock draft out, and guess where he has the bears picking????....wait for it....... .....12th
  13. Would love to add a healthy Jaye Howard. One more thought. Through all this the bears gave up too much to trade up talk, I feel like a lot of the same people who say they could have used those picks on defense are also completely dismissing Bullard, Bush, and Hall. Those are 3 guys the bears drafted in the 3rd and 4th round last year.
  14. Just out of curiosity, I went back and looked at some of the saints draft history as that is where Pace comes from and here is some fun stuff when it comes to small schools. Arkansas Pine Bluff Regina Towson Bloomsburg Hofstra Ya know who went to those schools? Terron Armstead- Pro Bowl LT Akiem Hicks- Really good football player as we know Jermon Bushrod- 2x Pro Bowl LT Jahari Evans- 6x pro bowl/4x all pro Marques Colston- 6 1000+ yard seasons. They also have a history of drafting a guy with limited tape.....A guy named Jimmy Graham only caught 17 balls his one year of college football. He was pretty good right?
  15. He may or may not have been there at 3 anyway, but if you think he's a franchise guy, ya gotta make the move. 2nd round I'm looking at Budda Baker or Malik McDowell. Cam Robinson is interesting, but from what I've read, he might not be all that great. At OT I like Antonio Garcia more.
  16. I'm hoping the Panthers are in love with Fournette and wanna trade ahead of the Jags at 4 so they trade the 8th pick to the Bears. I think there are 5 or 6 guys (not including Garrett)that make sense for the bears so I think 8 is a perfect spot when you consider Garrett, Fournette and probably a few other guys the bears don't need will go before 8. If there's no move down, I'd go Adams. Not only does the team need a safety, but it also needs some leadership and a voice on the defense.
  17. Q did the same thing in 2015 (14 runs in his first 3 games) and ended up with an era in the 3.6s by the deadline. Ill start to get worried if he is 7 games in with 4 stinkers.
  18. Ah yes, the classic Sunday lineup sent down by upper management. (A guy somewhere else claims JB Shucks wife told him upper management makes the lineups).
  19. There is a pretty good chance it is mediocre/bad, but I don't think it's crazy to think there is at least an outside chance that it is fairly decent(decent being a step above mediocre). Everything has to go right though. White has to be the guy we hoped for. Meredith has to build on what he did last year. Wheaton has to be that breakout player everyone thought he was gonna be last year. Wright has to get back to where he was last time he and Dowell Loggains were together. I don't think it's crazy to think 2 of those happen. It's a boom or bust offense. The optimist in me is gonna wait and see which one happens.
  20. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 03:57 PM) Why would it be any worse than the Bears' offense was down the stretch last year? I mean, that wasn't a good offense, but it wasn't historically bad. QB has been upgraded (Glennon over Barkley in this instance). Everything else is the same right (since Alshon was out)? Except White, Wheaton, and Wright all offer some upside. I don't think it's crazy to think Meredith can continue to improve either. Cam is a guy who was a QB just 2 years ago and just dropped 888 yards last year.
  21. Random thought. How the hell would an opposing team block a defensive line of Hicks-Goldman-Allen or Thomas? I mean seriously? Especially with the threat of the blitz. I really wanted Adams or Hooker, but thinking about just how dominant that defensive line could be has changed my tune. Thomas looks to be the more explosive player with the higher ceiling. If you put that man on a line with Hicks and Goldman, who both should probably be double teamed, look out!
  22. This Cooper guy actually sounds hella interesting for a guy I've never heard of. He was apparently a Pro Bowl alternate last year. You'd think a guy like that would have created more free agent buzz.
  23. He did have the 10th highest completion % on passes over 20 yards his rookie year. Among the guys in the top 10, he had the best TD/INT ratio(7/1). So he might be Captain Checkdown, but he is certainly capable of throwing the ball down the field. I'm sure having some guy named Tiquan Underwood and Tim Wright as your #2WR and TE doesn't help things out(Just talking about his rookie year).
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 8, 2017 -> 10:13 AM) That will be fun. I've decided my fulcrum for Glennon is 10.5 million, anything over and I will dislike to strongly dislike, anything under I think is a fairly benign risk on a FA QB. As long as there is little to no gaurented money after year 1, I'll be fine with. Saints were said to be really high on Glennon when he came out, so ya gotta assume Pace was apart of that. I would be willing to see it play out. He was behind a god awful OL in Tampa, then Lovie got cute and brought in his guy McCown, and then Winston fell in their laps. Maybe a better situation is what he needs. Pace would certainly be putting his reputation on the line here, and if Glennon sucks, that could be one foot out the door. In the draft, I wanna see the Bears go Adams in the first, best corner available in the 2nd. 33rd round is where I would hope to grab a Nathan Peterman or Davis Webb.
  25. Questions at WR, an injury plagued TE, and suspect tackles.......Sounds like a perfect situation to throw a rookie QB in to. If I'm the Bears I tank again and hope to get one of the 2 QBs coming out next year. Throw Hoyer back there for a year, build the defense, see what you have in guys like Meredith and White, throw Long at LT. Maybe draft a 4th round QB like a Webb or Peterman. In my ideal world the Bears bring in Gillmore or Bouye. Draft Jamal Adams and Gareon Conley in the first 2 rounds. That sets up Conley and Gillmore/Bouye at CB with Adams and Amos/Bush/Fuller at safety. A rebuilt secondary will go a long way into making this a top 10 defense.
