  1. Went there in 1999, but I feel like I was too young to really appreciate it. This is a punch to the gut. I thought my secretary was exaggerating about the severity, but sure enough, it's pretty much gone. During Holy Week, to boot. What a loss.
  2. Or like the past 11 years of White Sox baseball.
  3. This season is not even 10 games old. The standings, league-wide, will correct themselves over the course of the next few days/weeks. Red Sox are last in their division, while O's are in second. Mariners are leading their division, while Astros are fourth. It's fun to watch the Cubs trip over themselves, but let's be real.
  4. Happy for Giolito. Not going to point to one outing as anything super meaningful, but I've been of the opinion that he'll put it together and turn into something for the Sox, so this was good to see.
  5. Giolito will have a decent year. Rodon avoids the DL, also has a good year. Lopez turns out to be a back of the rotation guy. Santana doesn't make it the whole year due to either injury or ineffectiveness. Engel's bat improves, he is let go anyway. Eloy does not live up to the hype in his first year. Repeat performance from Moncada. Avi Garcia has himself a nice season for the Rays.
  6. 8-22 Edited to include: @ KC 1-2 @ Cle 0-2 vs. Sea 1-2 vs. Rays 0-3 @ NY 0-3 vs. KC 1-2 @ DET 1-3 @ BAL 1-2 vs. DET 1-2 vs. BAL 2-1
  7. Hope Covey does well- he looked pretty good his first time through the order more often than not, it seemed.
  8. Obviously those two are top-shelf (don't think Machado would have cost a pick, which makes that sting even more), but I'd even be ok with something lower-tier. Prior to his extension, if Goldschmidt came at the cost of a pick next year, I'd be fine with that. This past offseason, Corbin, Grandal, Pollack come to mind.
  9. RIght, I agree that going after Keuchel isn't the thing to do. For the right FA, though, I'm not shedding any tears over the loss of a pick that would otherwise be in the hands of Hahn and friends.
  10. Yep, and Hahn threw money that should have gone toward a Machado/Harper signing at a bunch of junk, instead.
  11. I used to think so too, until it occurred to me that this organization really doesn't have a great track record with the draft/identifying talent. I don't know that I'd be in favor of going after Keuchel, just saying if there was an intriguing FA out there, a pick that will likely wind up being a bust doesn't mean as much to me.
  12. They would sign Jon Jay and trade for Yonder Alonso. He could never say no to that!
  13. Right there with you. I'm 32 years old and never thought I would see this day. I feel rotten for it, but fuck this franchise- I let my ticket rep know as much. It's no use cheering for L's either, since the same incompetent jackasses are going to waste draft picks on pure shit.
  14. I eagerly await playing my part in this hopefully successful endeavor. More excited for the attendance totals than their actual baseball season.
  15. I knew there was a reason presidents typically sell off/separate themselves from their personal business interests prior to taking office!
  16. I hope this team sets records this year... ...for worst attendance. People need to stay away from this joyless, soul-sucking franchise until there is change.
  17. Jon Jay and maybe some of his relatives/pets/friends if that will make it more likely that he returns to the Southside.
  18. This clown franchise may have destroyed my interest in baseball. Tried watching some non-White Sox spring training earlier today and could not do it. The White Sox are MLB's Chicago Bulls, and that is a nauseating and repulsive thing.
