I think of the inverse - it makes Smith, who is my pick for Sox to draft, look even more impressive.

Yes to me it shows that nobody is barreling him up. You'd think a time or two someone would and get a juiced ball result.

Assuming they don't have the Clevinger baggage, sure.

Clevenger had other issues then the scandalous baggage last year.  This year if he pitches well and there are enough teams with hope and he is a 4.0 ERA guy he could net something decent.

It’s really something to watch how bad of a receiver Maldonado is

The only thing I can think if is that LaRussa is the one making these calls.  Could Getz really be this stupid?

Getz didn't hire Grifol....well maybe he did.  Who knows.

Vaughn and Benintendi are literally zero tool players and potentially negative tool players

  4. No body cares about the Sox.  With top flight pitching dropping like flies there is a real opportunity here.

The interesting case study would be how this is viewed locally if the cubs did this to make a run at a WS and the Sox to try and recoup via a trade.   The SCORE would be very torn on how to cover.

How would you like to have in your job description "explain every why your bunch of mediocre fielders that are mostly  hitting under Mendoza just lost again."

I'm not saying he's not an idiot, but how many losses can he be blamed for this season?  Yes, he comes off as defensive.  Wouldn't you or I?

There si a whole stew of s%*# that is this organization and he is a main ingredient.  He does NOTHING well.  Every player and coach in that locker room has to look at him and laugh to themself.  He is a bozo.

If we are talking about what the process of the trade was, most of this is not relevant.  The point was to get someone who could actually help the franchise when it was good again, not to waste three more years with a DH.  Eder was a top left handed starting pitching prospect before his Tommy John.  Obviously if he had recovered quickly and not suffered a subsequent injury on his road back to the mound, he wouldn't have been available for a mediocre bat only DH.  That's the thought process behind the trade.  Take a chance on getting him healthy and back on the mound on a regular basis again to see if he rounds back into the form that made him a borderline top 100 guy.  With his second injury he never went through the ramp up process of getting his strength and conditioning back post TJS, which was obvious with his still recovering velocity during the fall league.  If you want to be hung up on his ERA in 8 innings of 2024, but not Burger's 88 OPS for 64 PAs, as some kind of disqualifying rational for why you don't make the trade last year, feel free to engage in your circular logic all you like.  The bottom line is the kid has thrown 56 innings since the end of 2021.  I suspect he is a guy who will get better as the season wears on as he gets back into condition to start.

Sounds like the guy that currently is the only reason to watch the White Sox.

If they are willing to give him everything he wants in a stadium/village project, that is like $2 billion to start with.

This is what I am missing.  Are they going to build a village for him or are they going to build a stadium for for him to use rent free and then who makes the money on the village?

I still don't understand how many years ago Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones played at the new place but they don't hold anything there anymore.

Why is NU doing what they are doing in Evanston.  GRATE would be ideal for that.

I think Pedro is an awful manager but theres nobody past or present thats going to manage this team from losing 115.

They don't even  try that's the issue.  They have zero respect for him.

Hopefully the kid shows he learned something from whatever lesson he was being taught.

My hope was he was Pedro's whipping boy as there was nobody else he could try and hammer.  Pedro is a moron and not properly handling young players seems par for his assine course.

What a surprise! Moncada, Eloy and Robert all out injured at the same time. Before the 11th game of the season. Rinse and repeat.

Someone really needs to make a documentary out of this failed rebuild. It would be fascinating for all baseball fans if done well... and probably provide closure for us Sox fans.

All injured while simply running nothing baseball related to any of them.

If they ever really considered it, if he wants to do it, now is the time. If somehow he turns it around a bit, great. If the continue to suck this bad, he will never want to manage again.

The time for the move was the all-star break in 2022.

I always hated when people pulled this performative BS at work. You're not being less productive, or focused to walk outside and look up in the air for 10 seconds.

Funny thing is that whatever he is doing it's not working.  He sounds like a complete handjob every time he opens his mouth.  He needs the Jim Boylen time clock.

Robert is damaged goods at this point. Their core turned into pixie dust. At least they were hitting today. Getz and Pedro are clueless.

He has been damaged goods since Day 1.  He's barely able to stay on the field as much as Eloy.

They really should have looked to move him this past off season.  Especially when he hired a new agent.
