thanks for the comment and great points, I would say that Kimbrel was miscalculated on hahns part, first to give up a controllable 2b then pick up his option which handcuffs him a bit on payroll. We will see what they get for him. if they get value then great. Then he messed up by picking up caesar and not giving him his option but maybe caesar wanted no part of the whitesox. You still have holes at RF and now at second while your main competitors are making allstar teams right in front of you. Byond 22 he just has the worst minor league system in the business. thats what I meant by the mess. One mans mess is another mans dream I guess.

seems like there are a hand full of teams in both leagues creating all star teams while the rest sit back and are willing to play out the season.

well I would prefer not to buy sox tickets against the blue jays. It will be 9 nothing after the first few innings. So many A league teams better than the sox, JR knows one thing in his favor, he is in the worst division in the A league. NL central is right there with them, this is why these midwest teams can win with less all you need is a few of them like the sox , cardinals , brewers, tigers and cubs to spend just a little more to win the division and limp into the playoffs. There they will get killed.

All great comments, Hahn got himself into this mess with his strategic thinking. He traded a controllable 2b away for a bloated expensive pitcher thinking a lights out backend would overcome all those big bats in houston. Then he got Caesar from cleveland with his 20 HR's and the plan was to take on his option, but Caesar clearly hated being a whitesox or he was lonely for his dog or something and completely sucked. So Hahn cut ties, Hahn had one hole last year in RF now he clearly has 2 still with RF and 2b and he still has a shitty bloated contract of a guy who is a baby and says he is a horrible pitcher unless he closes. So now they are strapped with a much higher payroll and a bad contract that in all likelyhood will only bring back mid tier prospects. All because Hahn thinks he is so smart. So he is back to filling gaps with old players or players playing multiple positions so he can get a better bang for the buck. In the meantime the real world series contenders are ripping it up, signing stars and getting things done even through great trades. I think Hahn is the dumb one in all this and he might get it from KW who really hasn't done jack shit but remains because of loyalty from JR who doesn't have much time to waste listening to these two idiots. Why are they in a horrendous spot? I think this moves them to compete for a playoff spot for sure even a division title. The reds will reduce and not be in play its just the brewers and cardinals over the there. Then the cubs can trade guys like Horner and some of their younger prospects for pitching. My issue is more the whitesox have a budget in mind and it doesn't matter if the threshold has moved up the budget for the sox is probably the same.
