  1. The Cell is much better than old Comiskey... As others have stated, The Cell is friendly, and just a better all around place. Plus, it is good for families as well.
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 01:11 AM) Or Thank you for giving me a good laugh before I go to sleep...
  3. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 01:07 AM) I am telling you, the list is a joke without Randy Johnson. The dude scared me s***less and I just watched him on the tube. Just ask one of the best hitters of our time... Larry Walker.
  4. QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) I was actually watching a NESN broadcast of a Red Sox game and they had Hawk in the booth as a guest, and he told a bunch of stories about Yastrzemski. And at the end, he told the Red Sox broadcasters that the White Sox are one of the best clubs in baseball. Always the homer But I definitely enjoyed Blackjack in the booth, he's pretty good. Adept analysis. I'd love to see him replace DJ, personally, but he's too busy with the baby clothes Gosh, I love hawk...
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:11 PM) The guys is phenomenally skilled. He's my favorite person to root for outside of the White Sox. I've heard some interesting things about him from someone who was around him 5 years ago. I heard he killed a bear with just his smile... is this true?
  6. I don't understamd why Contreras couldn't have came to America w/ his family also... You would think that Contreras would only agree to a contract w/ the Yankees if he could get his family could come with. I hate Cuba.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) Well, in his first MLB start last night, Hamilton went 1 for 3 with a 2 run home run and 2 walks (the homer being his first ever MLB hit), and tonight in his 2nd start, he's 2 for 4 with another home run (solo) and 2 runs scored. This kid is something, it's a miracle he's even alive, he hasn't played in like 3 years, he has never played above a ball, and he's doing this. It's like the modern day, somewhat younger and more drugs in the past version of Roy Hobbs. haha, that is a great comparison!
  8. Back to the Grind is done already, huh? Well, I am glad, I didn't like that much... I like We are Chicago Baseball much better... stick it to the Cubs. Now, they need to add PK, and a few others to the top.
  9. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) Nice win today. Great pitching again is a good sign. How did Anderson look at the plate? Abysmal or did he have a clue?
  10. BA owns all... I doubt the White Sox would do a BA for Felix trade... we know how dominate of a hitter BA is.
  11. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) 100% effective is the dominance Bobby is capable of. He has the stuff to be a top 3 closer in baseball. As of right now, he'll be a satisfactory closer and not much more. Without that fastball, he loses consistency, and last night is the perfect example of that. He did that multiple times last year too. The Cleveland game rings vividly in my mind - wasn't it like 4 straight doubles or something ridiculous like that? With a fastball around 89-92, he'll be bad, with no further explanation really needed With a fastball around 92-95, he'll be 3.50, 1.30, and a good K rate With a fastball around 94-97, he'll be 2.70, 1.15, and a great K rate With a fastball around 96-100, he'll be almost untouchable, only being hit on fastballs left low in the zone. That last line is 100%, and that's pretty much what he was down the stretch in 2005. A pitch Boone hit that year was a fastball low (though I seem to recall Vizcaino having a good piece of hitting on the fastball up in game 2). I pretty much agree with this whole post, except if he is only hitting 92-95, I think he will be more around a 4-4.5 ERA
  12. I'll miss Black Jack... I'd love it if they could have all three in the booth. I love Hawk's favorism and homerism, and I like DJ's horrible jokes and how he tries to act funny. But, I like Black Jack's analysis of pitchers and him not being a homer.
  13. Just a question... had Contreras pitched well on opening day or if you guys knew about these problems going on with him and his family right now, would you still have b****ed about him?
  14. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) The big difference is that you took your pic. I stole my pic from someone on ebay trying to sell a t-shirt. I hope you bought that shirt... I woulda!
  15. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:01 PM) I wish radar guns were only for use by scouts. why? Even if there were no radar guns, almost any baseball fan would be able to tell that Jenks hasn't even sniffed 100 this year, and that his velocity is very questionable.
  16. yeah, I just read that... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws
  17. Anyone else getting really sick of this "Dice K" crap? I am about to puke. Besides those #@$% in Boston, no one does (no offense if you live in Boston, but seriously, they are the cubs fans of the AL).
  18. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) I think he is mostly fastball and slider. Not sure about the curve. Well, I think it was more of a "slurve" he had, actually. I haven't seen him pitch since the 05 postseason to be honest.
  19. well, it was a bit of sweet revenge for us today, since Stewart kinda did the same as Pods did. Except that I think Hawk could have thrown out Uribe on that sac fly, and that ball by PK should have probably been caught.
  20. Johan is one of the few players I wouldn't mind the team offering a 8 years, 180 million dollar contract to.
  21. well, the offense was pitiful, to say the least, by Anderson today but the D was superb.
  22. Thank you Shannon Stewart for today's victory!!! also, now we have gotten quality starts from everyone in the rotation.
