  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 06:23 PM) Rangers DFA'd Haigwood today. thats strange... did they need room on the 40? I'd gladly pick him back up... can never have too much pitching, especially young lefties. Yeah, this move makes no sense by the Rangers right now. And they traded Fabio for Haigwood...
  2. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) Divorce is never pleasant. especially if your Contreras and are gonne lose half of that big extension you signed... as well as half of your stuff.
  3. SI is full of retards, and I dont even bother with them. They didn't even have Marshawn Lynch in the first round of their latest mock draft.
  4. He is not exactly trade bait, but he isn't untouchable either. Basically, if a good offer comes, then why not. But right now, as others have stated, his trade value is at an all-time low.
  5. I watched a little bit of his outing vs. the Angels last week, and IMO, he looks very unimpressive. This offense should have a field day off of him.
  6. Getz off to a solid season so far...
  7. meh... no offense, but I'm not a big fan, you guys shouldn't quit your day jobs... please don't banish me...
  8. If true... OUCH, that's harsh.
  9. Hopefully Dye, Crede, and Pierzynski will break out of their suck-streaks... especially Dye. And hopefully Garland will rebound nicely... he has always pitched well in Oakland, IIRC. And I am not too worried about most of the team never facing Gaudin. PK, Uribe, and Crede have all seen him before, and watching some video on him, he doesn't look impressive at all, his fastball maxes out at about 88-89. Plus, he has been around for about 4-5 years now, so they should have a pretty good scouting report on him by now.
  10. Just kinda a random question, but how do the tv stations in california air all the Padres, Giants, A's, Dodgers, and Angels games?
  11. Right now I see Carter as a backup CI and power threat off the bench, but if he keeps up putting up good numbers, he could become a force in the middle of a lineup. I am also excited about Cunningham, he should at least be a 4th OF'er, but he has the potential to be so much more, IMO. I see him as a no. 2 hitter in the future playing LF, but thats just me. Also, even though he didn't have the best of games last night, Anderson Gomes has had a good opening month so far. Imagine if he could live up to his potential!!! And it is great to see Honel succeed. I remember when he and Malone were our futures in the rotation. But for both of them now, I see their future's being in the pen. With all the arm problems Honel has had, I think it is best to try and minimize the chance of injury, and put him in the pen, but if has worked out his mechanics and there is less of a chance of injury, and he can start with his good veloicty and curve, why not have him try and be a starter. We'd have a stacked pitching farm if these guys can keep pitching like this, and some of them could bring a lot via trade.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 12:13 PM) Thats the thing. Maybe Danks and BMAC are a wash, though I think Danks is more suited for our ballpark and he is a lefty. The kicker is that we got Masset who has looked nothing short of great at some times. The combination of the two is what makes KW a winner here. bingo
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) It would be nice to get him back ASAP. exactly.
  14. Floyd pitching very well today, and Fields starting too come around... very good news. Also, excited to see Long pitching well. He has to potential to be at least a solid middle reliever.
  15. Kip Wells finally living up to that potential? That Kip Wells and Josh Fogg for Todd Ritchie trades still eats me up.
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 02:29 AM) Well I'm hoping he won't have to after we sign Ichiro in the off-season. But as for a few possibilities here we go; Erick Aybar - Seems to be the main candidate. Has the defensive skills to stick at SS, and seems capable of hitting leadoff possibly. And I think in the off-season, a Crede deal for Aybar and a pitching spect could be a real possibility. Jeremy Reed - I still think there's a slight chance we could re-acquire him somepoint in the future. Whether he's more suited to a #2 or lower in the order hitter, that's up for discussion. Antoan Richardson - C+ spect from John Sickels. Stole 66 SB's in A ball last season, and had a .381 OBP. From the Giants organization. He's only 22, but needs to hit at higher levels 1st. Lorenzo Cain - Another C+ spect from Sickels. From the Brewers, drafted in the 17th round. .307/.384/.425 in A ball last season, 34 SB's. Sleeper spect with speed and power potential apparently. That is a very interesting name you bring up... he would probably be one of the easier to gets, but he is a project and still at least 2-3 years away. But he does have the speed.
  17. I'd take this outing out of Danks any day of the week, and twice on Sunday... 7 out of 10 times, IMO, this team would have scored enough for a win, but they had to face no other then Johan Santana. If Danks does average 6 innings pitched, and 3 runs per game, in 27 starts which is a fair amount of starts for a rookie, he will finish up with an ERA of 4.5, and I'd take that anyday. Bullpen looked great once again. Also, my lineup for today would have looked a little something like this... Podsednik, LF Erstad, CF Thome, DH Konerko, 1B Dye, RF Pierzynski, C Mackowaik, 3B Cintron, SS Ozuna, 2B We'd still have the big boppers, but a bunch of speedy "grinders" to try and pick away.
  18. I think if it is about 25% of the league, including the whole Dodgers team is wearing the number, they should make it where the whole majors wears a uni with 42 on the back.
  19. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 08:42 PM) God dammit only 4 people in my department have to work tomorrow and I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm going to miss my family dinner, Danks MLB debut and I'll be alone in my house for a while (I take that back, my dog wil be here too.) I'll catch the Bulls game at least but tomorrow is gonna be a s***ty day. call in sick...
  20. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) I think Contreras pitches Sunday and it's on WGN so I'll get a chance to see Jose in action. I watched the FOX game and was surprised they showed the Sox and Twinkies. I'll tell you what Javier Vazquez was absolutley beautiful. Danks is pitching tommorow...
  21. I'll be honest... I mainly want Broadway to succeed because of that badass name of his... I wanna get me a jersey of his, but I'm not if he is gonna suck.
  22. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) Broadway and Egbert are two guys that need to pitch well for us. Broadway is trade bait b/c we have a better version of him in McCulloch and Egbert could really take off this year as he has been old for his league every year. He will be 24 in May, so if he could get to AAA by mid-season (although this would take an injury or trade in AAA) he could become pretty valuable. hmmm??? From what I have heard, Broadway has a higher cieling then Broadway and has more potential, plus better stuff. And the org. is pretty high on Broadway as well.
  23. Game is at 1:05 tommorow... I am going to my parents tommorow, wonder how my family is gonna work out dinner cause I really want watch Danks pitch, live, not tivo-ed.
  24. Danks is going to pwn Santana... we will see who the real dominate lefty in the AL Central is! Now, if you will excuse me, I have to pick-up my dog's crap...
  25. What a terrible game by Javy... 4 walks, 1 hit-batsman, 1 hit??? That is pitiful! He couldn't even go all 7! Well, I guess the 0 runs was good, but still! [/sarcasm] QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) How'd Sisco look? Made Cirrilo his little biotch.
