    2 month update.

    Jermaine Dye has slipped from 2nd to 6th. He officially sucks.

    Why isn't he mentioned in MVP talks again?

    just a question, how did you make it aligned like that?

  2. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 01:17 AM)
    Jerry Owens should be runnign track with Jesse owens. Whoever thinks Jerry owens is gonna help us this year has gotta be outta his mind. I mean come on. Quit drinking the SOX Kol aid and face facts, this team is terribly managed and will never even sniff the playoffs. We won our World Series in spite of Guillen last year, so just remember the memories, cause that is all we will have. Guillen is the demise of this Franchise and the quicker we get rid of him the better we will be. These players don't wnat to play for a gut who couldn't mamage a damn Mcdonalds , let alone a major league baseball team. How come everytime I watch a game Ozzie is looking into the crowd, while the other manager is concentrating on the game. Ozzie is always loking into the crowd. WHAT THE F**K IS LOOKING FOR???? Shouldn't he be concentrated on the game?? Know he is to busy worried about who is watching him. What a a*****e!!!

    I hate to sound like a dick and all, but STFU!

  3. If Ozzie and Kenny don't realize this now, shame on them. Either make a waiver trade and dump Vazquez off somewhere or move him to the pen. Even though Garcia hasn't done much better if better at all, but he still has experience down the stretch and in the playoffs.

    This rotation needs a spark. Right now Garland is the only one on this team who we can count on for 7+ innings. McCarthy pitched very well tonight. And now, he does deserve to be inserted into the rotation.

    Got to do something to get this team on a role! :gosox1: :gosox2: :gosox3: :gosox4: :gosoxretro:

  4. QUOTE(Allsox @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 08:57 PM)
    He's had two years to prove it. Hasn't really done it.

    Get your facts straight dude. He was a september call up in 04 and did very good. 05 was his rookie year, and had an okay rookie season, better then Anderson's. And he has been plagued by injuries this year and is currently on the 60-day DL. Like I said, I think he still has a chance to be a pretty good ball player.

    Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't redo the trade or anything. I am just a Jeremy Reed fan.

    QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:00 PM)
    Yeah but Chris Young has no shot to be better than average, right?

    um... I said I think he will be an average player.

  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 05:19 PM)
    A Rowand thread and a Chris Young thread in "Pale Hose Talk."

    Please move on. They are not with the White Sox (that doesn't mean pay zero attention to them) anymore.

    *ducks*

    ...and when Jeremey Reed was called up he hit over .400 and made an awesome catch that was all over Baseball tonight.

    People then were screaming about how the Mariners worked us over.

    I still think Jeremy Reed has a shot at being a good major league ball player.

  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 05:40 PM)
    Man, right now, I don't think the stats back that up too well...Gio being more valuable than Chris. Gio's looking at a 4.17 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP in AA for the Phillies this year. Giving up a lot of walks, and 21 home runs (not sure about that park, but his record is also 7-10 with that ERA, so it's not like he's destroying opponents). He's at least stayed healthy thus far, but he doesn't look like a top-of-the-line starter just yet.

    I think Gio is just having a bad year. He had a great year last year. And Chris Young is a career .270 hitter in the minors.

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 05:42 PM)
    30 plus hr's is a stretch. I could see him (if all went well) getting up to 25 but its far more realistic to predict 10-20 HR's, a high average, and above average defense.

    His power will come. People see his minor league numbers and say, oh he can't hit for power. But he is one of those guys that will hit homers when he comes up. I think if you combine his homers from ST and this year he has 17 or 18. Plus, he had only a couple homers for the first couple of months in Charlotte.

    I will admit it now, I have a boner for Ryan Sweeney's swing, it is just that pretty.

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 05:36 PM)
    Couldn't disagree more, but than again I was the original guy on the Chris Young bandwagon a few years ago with FutureSox

    I think someone else said it best. Chris Young is Mike Cameron. Mike Cameron is an average player.

  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:05 AM)
    If you are talking upsides, then Chris Young > Ryan Sweeney > Brian Anderson

    If you are talking safeness, then yes, Ryan Sweeney is probably is the safest, since he has an incredibly smooth swing.

    I think Ryan Sweeney has an upside to be a perennial All-Star. He won't K 100x a season (which I love), and has the potential to hit 300+, hit 30 homers (maybe more. His power is finally comming around), and drive in 90+. Plus, he has a canon arm and plays pretty darn good D himself.

  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 12:24 PM)
    He's the best prospect to come our way in a long time. It stinks we gave him up for Javy, but at this point all we can do is hope Javy turns into something. I've long said if he can't do something for us, we won't go anywhere this year because I don't have much faith in Freddy/Mark being our guys this season, so we need someone to be that 3 if we do in fact make the playoffs.

    Heck, I don't have much faith in Contreras.

    Giovany Gonzalez > Chris Young...

    Chris Young is highly overrated, IMO. He has only had decent numbers in the minors, but his "potential" to be a 40-40 guy makes everyone get a boner for him. I see him being a decent OF AT BEST.

    QUOTE(Contreras @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 05:30 PM)
    Anderson is considered by just about every scout in baseball to be a guy that will hit .280-.290 with 20-30 homers, very few steals, and approx. gold-glove defense every year for many years.

    um... He has the potential to steal about 20 bases a season. He is actually a pretty good base stealer, but he was never on base before to show it off.

  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 08:31 PM)
    I could see them bringing up Hermanson as well. From what I read, the only reason they put him back on the DL was because his rehab stint was over, but they told him he would be back with club in September...

    how could I forget Hermie?

  10. The 40 man roster is almost among us, but who will get the call and join the White Sox for the final month and 3 days? Who do you guys think Kenny Williams and Ozzie Guillen will call up. Keep in mind, the Charlotte Knights are going to be in AAA playoffs! The players I think will get the call are...

    RHP, Sean Tracey - Right handed relief help.

    LHP, Boone Logan - Could be the lefty specialist.

    C, Chris Stewart - 3rd catcher.

    OF, Jerry Owens - Speed off the bench, 4th OF'er.

    RHP, Charlie Heager - Right handed relief help.

    And possibly Ryan Sweeney.
