I firmly believe the Packers are on to something not throwing their rookie QBs to the lions right off the bat. Of course not every team has the luxury of letting their young QB learn from a pair HOFers like Favre to Rodgers and then Rodgers to Love.

    Or to the Vikings

  2. And this took less than thirty seconds.

Assuming the Bears land Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, here's how they can develop him for success:

Focus on Protection and Play Calling:

    • Solid Offensive Line: Invest in protecting Williams. A shaky line will crush his confidence and hinder his development.
    • Tailored Playbook: New Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron's system should utilize Williams' strengths. Design plays with quick throws and rollouts to avoid pressure.
    • Run Game Support: Establishing a strong running game takes pressure off Williams and opens up play-action passing opportunities.

    Learning and Growth:

    • Veteran Mentor: Consider a veteran QB as a backup to mentor Williams. Someone like Andy Dalton could provide valuable guidance.
    • Gradual Integration: Don't throw Williams into the fire immediately. Start him slowly, letting him learn the NFL game before becoming the full-time starter.
    • Focus on Mechanics: Refine Williams' throwing mechanics to improve accuracy and arm strength.

    Building a Winning Team:

    • Upgraded Weapons: Surround Williams with talented receivers and tight ends who can create separation and make plays after the catch.
    • Coaching Stability: A consistent coaching staff allows Williams to build trust and develop within a defined system.
    • Strong Defense: A stout defense takes pressure off the offense and allows Williams to manage games without needing to force throws.

    Patience is Key:

Developing a young quarterback takes time. The Bears should prioritize Williams' long-term growth over immediate wins.

Clearly I was wrong on Fields value - this still feels like Bears read the market wrong. That or they really did want to give Fields a preferred destination.

There are still a lot of question marks and inconsistency in Fields play. I think the Bears are trying to create as positive of a situation as they can for their #1 pick. A weekly controversy over who should be starting isn't how they want this to unfold. If they had a veteran who figured out how to stay in the league, help guide him along, it would be different.  But trying to develop two QBs when you've never managed one, is just too big of an ask.

I don't give a s%*# about infidelity. I do give a s%*# about abuse and nothing has shown that Clevinger and Bauer are abusers. If a woman consents to rough, consensual sex, that's not abuse.

And if you consent to some rough sex you consent to everything including being choked until you pass out then continuing to have sex while unconscious? Let me help you with that. 1:10 in will get to the important part.

I actually give a s%*# about infidelity and would never cheat on my spouse. But you be you.

  5. I'm in the inc.

One, it's so preliminary and dependent on factors that the Sox can't control. Example, if Cease blows out an arm next month it's an easy A win.

I do think the team received as much as they were going to getz. Everyone in the league knew the Sox wanted to move him.

Hot take it's a B and they were never going to get an A level return.

Benetti was pushed out for not eating food to their liking, food they asked him to promote on the air, and also for requesting to be in person to broadcast White Sox games.

The Orioles guy got suspended for saying the Orioles beat the Rays more during the 2023 season than the previous two years combined.

People are petty. MLB owners and management take it next level.

Seems like players are treated differently. Can you think of a player treated like Benetti?

  7. Does their paycheck really depend on it? I can think of guys like Rocker with homophobic comments, or Campanis with racist comments, getting fired but I can't think of anyone getting fired for calling out teammates or the manager.

Bottom line, players can't manage themselves. They need coaches and managers. They all failed. It really doesn't matter if they liked the guy or not.

I think most folks like working for a manager who leaves them alone. So it doesn't surprise me they liked working for TLR.

I think it is difficult for a person to say something honest when their paycheck depends on them toeing the company line.

True in most situations without multiple year contacts.

They could have just said something neutral but actual were positive. You didn't believe them which is the position I think of most Sox fans.

Lying or not, the bottom line is they failed and it's likely they need a manager, they can't manage themselves.

Every person you mentioned was being paid by the White Sox at the time they said positive things.

Are you thinking they received a bonus for saying positive things? I know it doesn't fit the narrative we believe, but I'm not going to dismiss their public comments to guess what they really felt.

If we are going to make some guesses I'll go with the guys appreciated a manager who left them alone to be professionals.

And we learned that young professionals today need someone on their ass to perform.

  10. The biggest surprise for me was TLR stayed out of clubhouse matters. Guys initially we're actually happy to play for him. Luis and TA had positive things to say.  Liam said it was a positive reason for him to sign with the team. Only a few guys have ripped him after leaving.
