1 homer in 9 games. Classic 84-89 Sox baseball. Where's our Ivan Calderon? -

So White Sox. Poor Cannon didn't deserve that. -

Vaughn completely broken. Sheets back in RF? Sigh. -
This sounds awfully familiar... "After the Marlins were bounced in the 2023 wild-card round, team owner Bruce Sherman determined that the magic of the 2023 season, driven in large part by a 33-14 record in one-run games, was mostly a mirage. In his assessment, the MLB roster assembled by GM Kim Ng and the minor-league system she oversaw were not set up for sustained success. Experts around the game echoed this sentiment to Yahoo Sports. Most people commended Ng for the job she did at the big-league level with the resources she was afforded, particularly in 2023, but described Miami’s organizational infrastructure and processes as woefully inadequate and behind the times. When Sherman attempted to hire someone above Ng to oversee the organization’s refurbishment, the first woman GM in baseball history understandably balked. She had, just months prior, helped guide an overlooked, underfunded team to its first full-season playoff appearance in two decades. Many of her moves — signing Jorge Soler, trading for Luis Arráez, acquiring Jake Burger and Josh Bell at the deadline — were huge wins. She’d thrived on a shoestring budget, and for her efforts, she was force-fed a demotion. And so, instead of sticking around under a new boss, Ng left the Marlins. In her place, Sherman hired Peter Bendix — a longtime executive with the Tampa Bay Rays, a club whose sustained success has enamored Sherman — as Miami’s President of Baseball Operations. Sources tell Yahoo Sports that Bendix’s assessment of the organization was similar to Sherman’s: Despite a successful 2023, the team needed to revamp its infrastructure." https://sports.yahoo.com/whats-going-on-with-skip-schumaker-and-the-miami-marlins-172742998.html

Is it wrong to want the Sox to embarrass themselves?

One game "ahead" of the Marlins coming into tonight for worst overall record... -
Bleacher Report ranks Sox MiLB system 3rd

Wait a sec...does BR actually have them ahead of the vaunted Cubs' system? Is their new business strategy for engagement to illicit more anger from the teams with the biggest online following/s? -
Will any team give Trevor Bauer a last shot?

Well, that was one of the least surprising occurrences of the entire off/season. The bigger question is do the Padres hold him or trade him at the deadline...not sure they can afford another $100+ million extension with Musgrove still on the books. Pretty sure this is Darvish's last contraact year, but could be wrong on that.https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/san-diego-padres/yu-darvish-8680/ Nope, WAY wrong...so it's going to be a really interesting decision based on where they are in the NL standings in late July.

That kid SURELY didn't have any nicknames growing up...

But SportsGuy/RolleTide claims it is still not as good as Cedric Mullins this week for the O's...

Jordan at least needs a donut shop sponsor/marketing deal...

Tennessee at least has Nashville, relative cosmopolitan-ness. Might want to keep going further south to AL, MS or perhaps WV.

Hey, they stole that from China, lol. That has been a thing here for a decade. Just spent $2 million to push BACK the rain so that a marathon and half events could be held (not that the actual race results matter when the African runners just let local favorites win, lol.) -
Must be leading MLB for the worst series of $1-3 million signings in both intl and Tier C free agency going back the last five years or so. Benintendi gets all the attention...and Hahn's veteran bullpen additions, but developing almost nothing on the position player side is another significant factor in putting the Sox behind the 8 ball.

Didn't we historically used to make fun of Bleacher Report's credibility on prospect rankings compared to most of the other rankings out there...for pretty much all the major sports? Does any other halfway reliable service have us anywhere besides #10-18? -

Jose Abreu is -0.6. Of course, Salvador Perez is leading all of baseball, haha.

Look at every single Benintendi performance (away from that abbreviated stint for the Yankees in 2022) over the last FIVE years...what do you see?

Looks a bit like Jermaine Dye...stick him out in RF. Hope and pray the ball is hit directly at him.

Would rather have 80s 90s Jamie Gertz. Lost Boys rules! Colson will be the main promotion for 2025. Doubtful he even comes up this year.

Verlander was the obvious key. Victor Martinez/Pudge Rodriguez... Can't remember when the Miggy Cabrera deal went down now with MIA. -
Not very superb.
