  1. AllStarAlomar, I really like reading that scouting report on Garland you have in your signature. That would be freaking awesome if he became like Kevin Brown(pre-injury).
  2. Valido is having a good year so far for Bristol. And, he is showing that he can hit, which was a question when we drafted him. If I remember correctly, he was said to be the best defensive SS coming out of high school. But, he has 13 errors in 33 games. Is this something we should worry about, or do you think he'll be able to lower the amount of errors he makes, simply with practice?
  3. Yea, that's true, but look what our offense did in 2000 and they were mostly right handed. Of course, having Everett's veteran experience and having Rowand be able to come in defensively at the end of games is good to have.
  4. I agree with you there. Even though Konerko is starting to heat up, I'd love to see Rowand in CF everyday, and Everett DHing. One Rowand is much better defensively than Everett in CF and has been tearing the cover off the ball when he plays. Then we trade Konerko for a 5th starter or we keep him on the bench to pinch hit.
  5. I'd like to see Diaz brought up, or a trade made.
  6. I heard the Red Sox are offering Casey Fossum for Escobar. I think they'd do that deal with Boston before one with us for Glover, Sanders, and/or Rauch.
  7. I can't wait for the KC series. I think we will take 2 of 3 or sweep them. I would be very happy if we took 2 out of the 3, and left only 2 games back of first place.
  8. Konerko has been playing well as of late, but defense is really important and I'd much rather have Rowand in CF and Everett DHing than Everett in CF and Konerko DHing. If we don't trade Konerko than he'd be a great bat to have come in to pinch hit.
  9. This is great that Colon is starting to pitch the way he did last year! Just one more spot to fill in the rotation and we'll be in almost every game this year, the offense will just have to come through.
  10. If they were going to take Colon out, then we should have given Ginter that last inning of work. I want to see him get some innings in when he can.
  11. Wow! Rowand had a great day today. 3-4,HR,2 rbi's,and a BB. I wish we could be using him everyday. Why don't we put Rowand in CF(he's definitly better than Everett in CF) and have Everett DH?
  12. Why the hell did Manuel take Colon out after 88 pitches, especially after our bullpen has been used so much. Everyone in the pen could have gotten at least one days rest but nooooo, Manuel had to have one of our relievers pitch.
  13. How many pitches did Colon throw today?
  14. No, but I want to. I'm still in high school. I'm looking at going to Missouri, Illinois, or Tennessee, and they all have lacrosse teams, so if I end up going to one of those schools, I'm most likely gonna play.
  15. GASHWOUND, I really like the Vince Lombardi quote in your signature. It's pretty damn funny!
  16. Yea, it's the one in Memphis. It's a freakin awesome stadium for being AAA.
  17. I think we'll win tomorrow, and then take 2 of 3 or sweep KC.
  18. STL's farm system is horrible. It's probably the 2nd worst next to Boston. They only have 2 prospects that I'd want, and they are Dan Haren and Blake Hawksworth. Here are reports on both players: 1. Dan Haren - SP - DOB: 9/17/80 - ETA: 2004 Notes: Haren had a great minor league track record entering this season and has done nothing to tarnish it. He demolished Double A with a 0.82 ERA over 55 innings before being promoted to AAA-Memphis where he has improved with every start. Haren thrives on impeccable control that lets him paint the corners with ease. His current ERA in AAA (4.68) will undoubtedly go down and he should compete for a spot in the St. Louis rotation in the spring of 2004, perhaps seeing a lateseason call-up this year if he gets on a roll. Haren has the potential of a #2-#4 starter. 2. Blake Hawksworth - SP - DOB: 3/1/83 - ETA: 2007 Notes: The Cardinals got a steal when they signed Hawksworth as a draft and follow leading up to the 2002 draft. Like many Cardinals prospects, Hawksworth has great offspeed stuff. However, he also packs a solid low-90's fastball and the potential to be a top of the rotation starter. He's outclassed his competition in Low A-Peoria this year with a 1.77 ERA, 49 strikeouts, 9 walks and 0 home runs in 45 2/3 innings. He is ready for a bigger challenge and deserves as a promotion. His upside reminds me of Kurt Ainsworth. Other than these two players there is one more guy that I like in the Cardinals system, and that is Stuart Pomeranz. But, he was a 2nd round draft pick for STL this year, and I'm not sure if there's a rule about trading guys who just signed. He signed on Wednesday with STL.
  19. Why don't we trade Porzio or Koch for Bo Hart?
  20. I hope Sweeney's injury doesn't make him sit out long. Of course, he had to get hurt right when he was starting to get hot. Why does this have to happen to both Anderson and Sweeney? I was really excited to see how they'd do in their first season's of minor league baseball.
  21. I'm glad to see Schnurstein producing in his 1st game back after being out nearly a month. I can't wait untill he starts heating up!
  22. I'd love to see Wright used as a closer in Charlotte. Look what happened to Eric Gagne when the Dodgers moved him into the closers role, maybe the same thing could happen to Wright.
  23. They do have some good prospects, not a lot, but some. Hell, most of the players on their team would still be "prospects" if they played on any other team. Plus, since most of their key players are young, they'll be able to keep them for a couple more years, but then they'll probably end up losing them. By the way, I wasn't saying that the D-Rays are gonna be good for a long time now, I just meant they are better than what they record makes them look like. And, they will be a good team in a couple years, and then suck again after that because they won't be able to keep any of there good players that will demand a lot of money.
  24. I assume you mean Brian Daubach, and if you do, we signed him as a FA.
