  1. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> we can thank those crazy idiot philly fans and their crazy media that hasn't seen a winner in about 50 years. 1980 with the Dallas Green team, right?
  2. Let's see if Floyd mans up in the rest of his outing tonight. Pitch aggressively, pitch inside, etc. It may sound strange but it is clear he's got a good arm. Personally I am really unhappy with the pitch calling. Not to absolve him of blame but they have not established inside.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have a nice break. See you on the 21st. Thank you heads22.
  4. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...this team is embarassingly bad. Yes. If you are going to get your rear end kicked, at least make it uncomfortable for the opposing hitters. I am not talking about drilling guys but make them move their freaking feet. You gave up 20 runs in the first game and now another 5 thus far, show some stones.
  5. It looks like the Twins have timed Gavin's heat. It also appears the White Sox have a problem going inside on the hands on these hitters. The Twins are looking out over the plate and there it is.
  6. So Morneau is looking for a first pitch fastball, guess what, he gets one right over the heart.
  7. QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed 100%. He should have just attacked him and don't be afraid of the bat. That curve ball is a nasty pitch but there is no reason to throw it when he looked a little bit off on his fastball. Yes. We just saw a perfect example on the Josh Fields at bat. Fields couldn't get around on the fastball so any breaking pitch Garza threw (or the dugout called) were out of the zone. Let the young hitter try to get himself out. A decent AB by Fields because he didn't get himself out. But when push came to shove Garza went to the cheese because Fields couldn't get around on it.
  8. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just got home... did Gavin look nervous in the first or just bad? Neither JD. He (in my opinion) did not bear down vs. Cudyher and he walked him. He threw a rolling curve ball which Morneau hit out but my beef on that is why call that pitch, it was the absolute wrong time to slow Morneau's bat down especially after he couldn't get around on Floyd's fastball.
  9. DJ rips into Owens and rightfully so. What a stupid play. I sense Hawk is ready to explode with this nonsense.
  10. QUOTE(Shamrock4Life @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 06:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> now when rosters expand to 40 man and you are called up do you use an option? No.
  11. Well his fastball is snapping but I would like to know who calls for an offspeed pitch in that situation? Morneau fouled off the fastball so what happens, you slow down Morneau's bat and it's 3-0. Go up and in on his hands on 1-2. No, instead they call for an offspeed pitch. Then again Floyd has to bear down on Cudyher. You can't walk him and bring up Morneau.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> HEY! I found it. August 30th, 1970. Jerry Janeski was your starting pitcher in a 21-11 Sox loser to Boston. It took place at Old Comisky. Hawk's idol Carl Yastrzemski went 1-5 w/ a 3 run HR. Good God, Jerry Janeski. Wow was he bad. That year was worse than this year, as bad as this one is.
  13. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And this from Jayson Stark ESPN Insider Jul 6 - According to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark, the White Sox are reportedly marketing Buehrle aggressively, but teams are balking at the price -- three players with two being prime-time prospects. Stark is also hearing that Boston might be getting back in on Buehrle and trying to expand the deal to include Julio Lugo. Thanks for posting this, interesting info. It's all speculation anyways but Stark generally has his ear to the ground. None of these people have the true scoop but Stark is one of the better ones.
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 02:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think maybe Ozzie is sending a message to Kenny. I could be wrong, but Ozzie wants a speed guy and he's going to tell Kenny either get me a good one or I'll just trot out a s***ty guy that can run (and yes I'm being overly harsh on Owens but its the truth). Agree. It is not necessarily Guillen rubbing it in KW's face but for whatever reason they seem to think if Owens settles in, he might be a leadoff option. I totally disagree. Even if he is, where do you play him? His arm is woefully weak for CF, he can't play RF and can barely handle LF. Plus you'd like to have some power from the OF corners. Neither Owens or Sweeney for that matter give that. Once again it all comes down to this, get better players. But yes, I would take Sweeney out there over Owens.
