  1. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:48 PM) wow jose coulda scored Too aggressive, now gun shy - McEwing, smh.
  2. QUOTE (LDF @ May 15, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) this is going to be really interesting. Really would like to see EJohnson have a strong outing and become a worthy next man up.
  3. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 13, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) Jose Berrios threw a 2 hit shutout against the Barons. He good. We'll be seeing too much of him with the Twinks rather soon, unfortunately.
  4. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ May 10, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) At least the strikeouts are there, unlike last year Yep, the scouting says a return of the 2013 velocity and sharper slider. Hope that's still the case. We never knew how he lost it in the first place. In the meantime I'm losing confidence that he's a potential Danks or Noesi replacement.Still early though.
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 11, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) Not a huge fan of leaving a guy in a level that he is dominating. Give him another week and if he is still playing well I think you need to make room for him somewhere at a higher level even if it is AA Agreed. Play him at 3rd and 2nd this week to get him ready for 3B in Bham.Only kinda joking. He may have the maturity to handle the double promo, then again, that may be crazy. Don't promote Trey yet, though, just starting tother get it at WS. Maybe promoting Peter to make room makes the most sense.
  6. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 11, 2015 -> 01:27 AM) Sounds like more BS Cubs hype, it seems like the "pitch to him like he's a triple crown winner" method is working, the guy is a K machine. Yeah his K rate is only 400% of what Williams' was. Otherwise, they're the same guy.
  7. QUOTE (southside hitman @ May 11, 2015 -> 10:14 AM) Jordan Guerrero is a stud. Yeah, and FIND A WAY to promote Eddy Alvarez, instead of making him the only prospect in Sox history to be promoted too slowly.
  8. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 10, 2015 -> 07:32 PM) Much of his success comes from his arm angle and deception against RH hitters. This really shows in his splits. LH hitters have over an 850 OPS against him and are hitting .314. This could pose greater problems when he gets to the MLB. That will definitely be a big obstacle to him making the last steps to the bigs. I'm guessing he'll be focused on the change going forward. Rather disappointed in seeing EJohnson slipping in these past couple performances - needs to get it going again.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 10, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) Rodon replaces Noesi, Danks contract makes him a starter. Well that, and he's probably better than Noesi, still. I'm about done with the Hector reclamation.
  10. QUOTE (daggins @ May 10, 2015 -> 05:58 PM) I think the Hector Noesi fun train has hit the end of the line. So what if we roll 4 lefties deep? Those are our best starters TFN I mean, Lyle Mouton Exactly. Plan on a few spot starts from a Beck, Carroll, Noesi, or otherwise along the way, if they're wanting to preserve him for the stretch run/possible postseason.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 10, 2015 -> 11:28 AM) Hopefully its Carroll. Would like to see Beck get a chance in one of these roles.
  12. The mighty Cubs are at 500 again, and 2-4 against the worst team in baseball. Looking at their upcoming schedule, it may be heading south for the northsiders. Too bad.
  13. Oh, and Flowers era has to end ASAP.
  14. Well, it worked, but surprised Votto wasn't walked there. Stone was surprised too.
  15. I haven't seen a team, outside of the Cardinals, play decently against the Cubs all year. Brewers blow the lead with terrible D all around.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 5, 2015 -> 09:52 PM) You can't put LaRoche at 1B in the 9th, that takes away the DH. and that's OK
  17. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 5, 2015 -> 08:51 PM) Gotta axe Micah. He doesn't produce enough offense for me to give a s*** about his speed. QUOTE (Condor13 @ May 5, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) Sanchez is a .250 hitter with no speed and no ability to take pitches or bunt like Micah so let's make the struggling offense even worse that will solve a lot Here's the thing. A decision needs to be made on Bonifacio. If he's unusable as a defensive replacement for Micah, than he really has very little utility outside of PR and occasional platoon. Find a way to move him, and call up Sanchez. And LaRoche should be at 1B in the 9th, too.
  18. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 5, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) The Cubs, Rangers, Dodgers, Padres, Nationals come to mind. Sure. I want to hire guys away from each. Put some important money into the system to get different draft and development ideas.

    5/5 Games

Johnson start discouraging. Need someone soon to push the 4 and 5 on the big club, besides Rodon. Oh well.
  20. QUOTE (LDF @ May 5, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) here is a question to you, b/c i am trying to drag you into more of these discussions and others. i have confidence in Joshua Strong opinions. remember no one is wrong and everyone is right. who would you take Garrett Whitley or K. Tucker??? I like the taller, sweet swinging leftY, as long as they're certain that his frame projects to way more size and strength than a Ryan Sweeney.Look at his dad, uncles etc., lol.Honestly don't know a lot about either but loved the Tucker swing vids. Also, and I don't enjoy giving the Cubs props, but if their interest in Tucker is real, our guys should take a longer look. Lord Theo , if nothing else, is able to hire the best draft and development guys out there. RH should pilfer a few.

    5/5 Games

QUOTE (LDF @ May 5, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) i hope it is not family illness or something like that. I read the term "minor injury" on the Barons site article about his last game. Hopefully he's back to regular pitch count soon.
  22. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 5, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) That would be fantastic. Tucker will be a building block in the minors, that the Sox can add to their developing core but the Sox have to be careful with his development like all teams do with any player. In conjunction with this, I want to see Buddy B promoted to a currently nonexistent position, while bringing in some coaches and development expertise from way, way OUTSIDE the current org.
  23. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 5, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) According to Kiley, the Cubs are also attached to Kyle Tucker as well. Too bad. Sox will nab him just before, I hope. I can dream of a future OF with he and Adolfo.
  24. Certain posters, and their feuds, are making this place damn near intolerable.
  25. The biggest potential improvement, imo, would come with the possibilities of Rodon and EJohnson replacing Noesi and Danks, and being nails. Also, getting Sanchez up, and finding a taker, or otherwise parting ways with Boni. And I don't think RV can steer the dramatic turnaround, regardless of how much or little blame he should get for the current state of affairs. But, still, I remain optimistic.
