  1. After an inning like that, I expect our offense to go Hyde and the Red Sox cruise to a 9-4 win.
  2. And now the team will die for the rest of this game. Having an inning like that ruins road trips.
  3. Seriously. I like the guy and all, but when did he deserve a contract running till 2009???
  4. i was choking on a gobstopper the other day and my friend just walked in and told me that he found some more gobstoppers if I want to go choke on them. seems like the popular thing to do.
  5. Thanks for 2005 Jose. Now go away, please. It hurts me to watch you fail so much now.
  6. Yes. Playing HIS game in the 2 hole, not the prototypical 2-hole game, is where he needs to be. It helps us much, much more.
  7. BECKHAM RIFLES IT OVER THE MONSTER!!! MEET GORDON BECKHAM BOSOX FANS!!
  8. Hopefully that's a sign of coming improvements from Alexei. Impressive play.
  9. That was a good inning. A couple more just like that would be great!
  10. Demoting Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko is not going to help us get wins in bunches. We've made this bed we have currently, and we're going to sleep in it. Ride it out. There's still like 35 baseball games left. We're either going up or going down with the guys we got. No one deserves to be demoted.
  11. Seriously? The guy is one of our top producers since 2005, and now he hits his first slump of the season, he needs to be moved down? NOW, not earlier in the season, we HAVE to move him away from RF? I'm sorry but Dye's deficiencies in the outfield aren't any more apparent this week then they were on opening day. We made a commitment to have Jermaine Dye as the White Sox right fielder in 2009, and we had better honor it. The only move I see as being worthy is moving Q to #3, JD to #4, Thome to #5 and PK to #6. We're talking like Jermaine Dye is on the same level offensively as Kosuke Fukudome in 2008. Kosuke deserved to be demoted. Dye does not.
  12. The only thing I would even suggest is putting Q back in the 3-hole like last year. Thome at #5 to me is better then at #4. Dye and Konerko will be fine. Players slump. Even Gordon the Great is slumping. They are the guys we depend on, thus they stay in the middle of the order. And who said I would rest Rios? I'm an advocate of Rios being the every day CF, actually. We just have to deal with what we have. I seriously doubt Dye and Konerko will carry their slumps to the end of the season. There's no point in punishing them for a slump, they are vets and everyone slumps. The players have to work it out themselves at this point.
  13. It is. Otherwise AJ would not have PH for Castro.
  14. I'm sorry, but it is all on the players now to do their jobs. Ozzie coming out and having a b****fest with the reporters isn't going to change anything. If anything it will put added pressure on the players. All he needs to do is keep making the lineups and keep being positive (like the article I read on whitesox.com earlier). It's up to the players to do their jobs now. The real question is, are our players too complacent?
  15. He might be more hated, but if we're gonna throw Beckham at 3rd and let him learn on the fly, we may as well deal with Alexei at SS too. All we can do is hope he improves into the GG-caliber SS we know he is capable of. Also, just the fact he is a magician with the stick makes it worth keeping him around.
  16. Love the crowd support for Johnny. They know he's battling out there.
  17. I believe it goes something like "Motherf*cking B*tchass D*psh*t Passionless Sox!!!!"
  18. I was sick of it in April and May. At this point, I accept what this team appears to be, and that's a pretty good team having a not-so-great year. The only thing I have left to hold onto is that we seem to play better with our backs up against a wall. We could be well under .500 with how bad we have truly been this season, but the team is able to stay in it. There were a couple moments this season where we could have really gotten behind Detroit, but we haven't completely imploded yet. These next few games are of the same ilk. Do we want to go to 4.5 or 5.5 games behind Detroit? Not really. I'm kinda hoping the guys feel like they have their backs against a wall right now.
  19. Exactly. The Red Sox fans are helping us pay for our roster, and I don't mind it one bit.
  20. Honestly, I see 4 losses for us. Boston isn't going to let Chicago just waltz into their house and beat them. It would be nice if we had that same attitude against teams like Baltimore and Kansas City when they came to our house...
  21. Sox are gonna have to help themselves, plain and simple. Praying for Detroit losses will get you nowhere. This team has to just go out and win some games. Maybe we'll take the series in Boston next week, because, you know, we play up or down to our competition.
