Especially against Guthrie with a straight-as-an-arrow 4-seamer and a 5.66 ERA. Another Epic Failure 62 wins, 60 losses. We're at that threshold of "won 60 and lost 60", now what will we do with our final 40 games hmmm? I guess the one saving grace of all this is last year our team was up against a wall and did the job. We will be up against a wall in September. We'll see what happens.

Has Cotts cleared waivers too? Has anyone called up Cliff Politte? Maybe his WS bonus is running out? Anyone got a robotic arm for Dustin Hermanson? -

what new? -
Wow I completely missed the fact that there was a day game today. I was still seething about last night. This still should have been a sweep. This team is so freakin' lucky it is August that it is hilarious.

What is your general feeling about the White Sox?
Wise Master Buehrle replied to striker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I had to leave after we had went up 4-1 last night I felt pretty good, even though I knew FG would give up some runs, I thought we would definitely be able to score a COUPLE more. Watching the ESPN ticker made me sicker and sicker when KC went up 5-4 and then held the lead. Sickening, disgusting, dreadful. Did KC really pitch that good after the PK and CQ bombs??? Or did we just mentally destroy ourselves again? I have a really hard time believing we couldn't nab another run on a team that was 46-72 entering the game. Pathetic. I've about had it with this years Chicago Weak Sauce. KW needs to identify who the mental midgets are and get rid of them. I've had enough of watching one of the most talented teams in the league fight itself harder then the opponent. -
I've defended Linebrink a lot this year, but I just can't anymore. I wish he was fully confident in himself... he's amazing when he is... but he has been a mental midget this year. GROW SOME STONES!!!

I've wanted him on our team since he always beat our brains in silly. Having him on our team is very refreshing for a change. Admittedly, I didn't know what to expect of him in his age now, but I definitely take him over BA -

On the White Sox schedule it says it will be on MLB.TV but it will probably be blacked out. lol -

Nice start for the Peavy one.

Let's just hope that Rios is aware that if he pulls that kind of stuff here, he will not have many friends in Chicago for the duration of his contract.

You are correct I was thinking I was onto something with this "Wise Master Buehrle" With all the stories about how he's like a mentor to John Danks and Clayton Richard, along with Wise making that historic catch and people essentially treating Buehrle like a master, I thought it was funny. Picture Richard and Danks bowing down saying "ohhh thank you wise master Buehrle for the information and knowledge you have taught us"

Because we never are and never will be 16 games over .500 We can be the 2009 White Sox, but not the 2006 Cardinals

thank you! -
It takes on the personality of the team... which you defined well with "Jekyll and Hyde"

Buddy, I agree with you 100% There is not much emotional stress we can have with a .500 ball team. Sure, we all know that we should be better then this, but this year we aren't. We know the talent is there, they're just having the damndest time putting it all together. It was frustrating that we have lost so many games already. The crazy part is we could still get hot... if we can put together another 7-game W streak like earlier in the season, we're right back with Detroit if not ahead... and then add a hopefully effective Jake Peavy and we still have a great shot to win, no matter how crappy we have been this season. But, I agree that next year is the year that should tell us a lot.

The other sad part is, no matter how much we know that this team cannot contend for the World Series, no matter how much of a .500 streaky, mentally f***ed up team we are... no matter how many times it seems we just can't get the job done and lose games... we are still in a pennant race. I feel like we should be rotting in the cellar with Cleveland and KC.
