  1. Reagan but he wasn't actually dumb. Palin on the other hand I'm convinced I could talk circles around. In 6 weeks I'll also have the same level of education she has except I will have gotten more out of mine.

    Sure you have.

  2. Interesting that none of the Mormon friends I have have nearly as much hate as you. And I find hate to be the most destructive of all emotions.

Like I said, on the outside it seems nice and dandy... enough so for some folks to carve an actual happy lifestyle out of it. I have nothing against them. That's why we're here.

But it doesn't change my opinion one bit. You call it hatred, sure I may share some dissent for those who brainwash, personally I find it a disgusting tactic to get one to submit themselves to a religion. The bottom line for me is that NO one single person can act as an authority of God. LDS acts as if they are the best of the best, Gods greatest children and Gods favorite. They feed this kind of propaganda to the youth to keep them within their circle for their whole lives. It is a giant scam and a giant lie, of the greatest magnitude possible! Think about it... what greater a scam then one based on a religion that people entrust their faith to? Religion is one of those things which is seemingly right and just in a world of confusion and hypocrisy. People turn to religion to help them get in touch with God. It is a sought-after service. So what better a way to scam people? Earn their faith and trust with the "words of God", and then you can perform any wicked, evil act you wish, on behalf of God and Jesus Christ.

I'd be willing to wager that God and Jesus were not Mormons. I'd be willing to wager that when it is all said and done, in a just world, those who do evil things in the name of God and Jesus Christ are resigned to go to Hell. It's not hate, to me it's logic. And those who carved out themselves a happy life.. be they Mormon, Christian, Atheist, Buddhist, what have you, will find themselves also in a happy place after life. I'm more so focusing on the exploiters, the wealthy, those who use God to benefit themselves financially. As I said originally in this post, I share an extreme dissent for those kinds of people. Sorry for the confusion.

See Emily Play is a great song, props to ye for a relatively unheard of Pink Floyd song! (I also adore Cirrus Minor and The Nile Song from that particular "relics" album)

And Boz Scaggs is a cool dude

  4. For outdoor recreation, no land locked state tops Utah.

This is true, outside of SLC there is a bevy of national parks and forests, all beautiful of course. The beauty of nature is untouched by the ugly Mormon religion. :headbang

  5. It would seem to be that the Filibuster is more suited towards political conversation.

I guess this would be the proper place for religious talk, though we've wandered far off topic. There is nothing exciting about Salt Lake City, whatsoever.

  6. You could always join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I know your being sarcastic, but I think it's extremely sad how brainwashed these people really are. Being in IF which is a jump away from SLC, there is a heavy Mormon contingent here. From day 1, it's all about brainwashing these people to believe that the Mormon religion is the only true religion to get to the top tier of Heaven. Young kids have stuff like this whispered into their ear on a weekly basis. Adults have to contribute 10% of their earnings to the church. When they become old, they become freaks. Without a mind of their own, they are timid, but also weird. They will walk on the outside and inside of your property to snoop around. For what reason? Who really knows. The people who head the "Latter-day saints" can go f*** a goat. They are evil, twisted people deserving of the top tier of Hell instead of Heaven. And honestly, how far up your ass are you when you call yourself a "Latter-day saint"? Did God give them that name? They are a bunch of self-labeling, self-righteous dips*** assholes. I truly feel sorry for anyone who has had their life affected by LDS. On the outside for some it might seem nice and dandy. Big families, family values and such. But their minds are being controlled by evil witch doctors with the power of speech and extreme wealth. (how rich would you be if you got millions of people to give you 10% of their earnings?)

  7. One of the worst places in the U.S.

  9. Well that was a fast football season. Call me crazy, but I'm not particularly a big fan of a sport that has such a high probability of injury. If I wanted to watch all my favorite athletes get hurt, I'd just watch the MMA or UFC. I watch football for football, but the game is just too flawed in it's design. Nothing good is ever going to come from a bunch of 250+ lb guys running into each other, jumping into each other, and piling up on top of each other. That's not football, that's how gorilla armies would fight each other.

  10. Personally, next year I would be completely 100% satisfied with a Getz vs. RHP and Nix vs. LHP platoon at 2nd. They have both shown to me to be respectable ML players. Both young, and should gain a great deal of experience together.

I feel that the team is content with Konerko at 1B until at least his contract expires. I agree with those sentiments, especially now that Jim Thome is gone. I love me some Big Jim Thome as much as anyone, but with his lack of speed gone, and as the opening poster stated the team is seemingly becoming more athletic, we can deal with PK's slowness. He's a great guy to have with the bat, he can make up for some of Alexei's lackluster throws to first with his amazing picks, and hopefully soon Alexei grows into the SS we believe he can be.

Next year, we're probably going to have to see what Tyler Flowers is made of at C. AJ is still our guy, but I think Flowers will club his way onto the roster in Spring Training. I could see a some sort of 80/20 or 75/25 platoon at C and DH with AJ and Flowers. AJ doesn't like to sit, so if he can DH on days that Flowers catches, not only would we keep him fresher, but also keep his bat active and keep him in his groove and give him the 162 games he wants to play in.

There's not much to be said about the outfield, really. Rios will be our every day CF next year, that's a huge addition of athleticism to CF we haven't seen in a long time. Quentin is an adequate outfielder, IMO, and hopefully next year he is more healthy and confident. RF, assuming Quentin doesn't move there, will need the upgrade. I'm not sure if JD will be back next year because the Flowers/AJ DH/C combo might be very intriguing to our Sox. If that's the case, we also have a chance to add some more athleticism to RF. I have no idea who. Assuming Podsednik will stay as our leadoff hitter, then we do have a speedy/athletic lineup.

    C Flowers/AJ

    1b Konerko

    2B Getz/Nix

    SS Ramirez

    3B Beckham

    RF Pods/Quentin

    CF Rios

    LF Pods/Quentin

    DH Flowers/AJ/Konerko

And I think keeping Kotsay is crucial. Bench players don't necessarily need to be speedy or athletic, and Kotsay is competent enough with the stick that I think he should stick around. He spells 1b, RF and LF on any given day and is a great pinch hitter. I hated facing Kotsay as an opponent because he killed us and now I am glad he is on our side.

I don't really know about the rest of the bench. I'd like Pablo Ozuna or Juan Uribe back, to tell you the truth.
